तदन्तरित बीजानि स्वसंयुक्तानि पञ्च वै
The seeds, separated within, are indeed five, each joined with itself.
हंसश्चरयुतो द्विः स्यात्ततः प्राणो रसाग्नियुक्
The swan, joined with movement, is twice; then prāṇa, joined with rasa and fire.
व्योमाग्निसहितं पश्चाद्रसश्च मरुता स्थिरा
Afterwards, ether joined with fire, and rasa, stable with wind.
अंबु पश्चाद्वियत्तस्मान्नभश्च मरुदन्वितम्
Afterwards, water; then from ether, ether joined with wind.
हंसः सदाहो ऽम्बगुरसा चरस्वैः संयुतो भवेत्
The swan is always joined with burning, water, heaviness, rasa, and movement.
सप्तत्रिंशच्छतार्णैः स्यान्नित्या सौभागमालिनी
With three hundred and thirty-seven marks, she is ever adorned with good fortune.
ततश्चतृर्भिः शीर्षं स्याच्छिखा त्रिभिरुदीरिता
Then with four, the head is formed; the crest is declared with three.
अरुणामरुणाकल्पां सुंदरीं सुस्मिताननाम्
Resembling the reddish dawn, beautiful, with a smiling face.
कह्लारपाशपुण्ड्रेक्षुकोदण्डान्वामबाहुभिः
With blue lotus, noose, lotus, sugarcane bow in her left hands.
तथाविधाभिः परितो युतां शक्तिगणैः स्तुतैः
Thus surrounded on all sides by such praised hosts of powers.
एषा तृतीया कथिता वनिता जनमोहिनी
This is the third, the enchanting woman who deludes mankind, as described.
हंसस्तु दाहवह्निस्वैर्युक्तः प्रथममुच्यते
The Swan, associated with the fire of burning, is first mentioned.
हृदंबुमरुता युक्तः स एवैकादशाक्षरः
Endowed with heart, water, and wind, that very one is the eleven-syllabled (mantra).
आद्येन मन्त्रवर्णेन हृदयं समुदीरितम्
With the first syllable of the mantra, the heart is invoked.
न्यसेदङ्गुष्ठमूलादिकनिष्ठाग्रान्तमूर्द्ध्वगम्
One should place (the syllable) from the root of the thumb up to the tip of the little finger, ascending.
त्वचि ध्वजे च पायौ च पादयो रर्णकान्न्यसेत्
On the skin, the banner, the anus, and the feet, one should place the marks.
अरुणस्रग्विलेपां तां चारुस्मेरमुखांबुजाम्
Adorned with a reddish garland and ointment, with a lovely, smiling lotus-face—
विराजमानां मुकुटलसदर्द्धेन्दुशेखराम्
Radiant, wearing a crown adorned with a crescent moon—
अभयं बिभ्रतीं पद्ममध्यासीनां मदालसाम्
Bearing the gesture of fearlessness, seated in the center of a lotus, intoxicated with bliss—
पुण्या चतुर्थी गदिता नित्याक्किन्नाह्वया मुने
The fourth, O sage, is declared holy, eternal, and called Kinnā.
भूः स्वेन युक्ता प्रथमं प्राणो दाहेन तद्युतः
Earth, joined with its own, is first; the vital breath, united with fire, is next.
ज्या च दाहेन तद्युक्ता नित्याक्लिन्नान्तगद्वयम्
The bowstring, joined with fire, and the two moist ends that are eternal—
प्रणवं ठद्वयं त्यक्त्वा मध्यस्थैः षड्भिरक्षरैः
Omitting praṇava and the two ṭha syllables, with the six middle letters—
रन्ध्राद्यामुखकण्ठेषु हन्नाभ्यां धारयद्वयम्
At the orifices, mouth, and throat, and with the jaw and navel, one should hold the two (syllables).
अथ ध्यानं प्रवक्ष्यामि देव्याः सर्वार्थसिद्धिदम्
Now I shall declare the meditation on the Goddess, which grants all accomplishments.
चारुस्मितां चितमुखीं दिव्यालङ्कारभूषिताम्
With a charming smile, a mind-enchanting face, adorned with divine ornaments—
रसनानूपुरोर्म्यादिभूषणैरतिसुन्दरीम्
Exceedingly beautiful with ornaments such as anklets, girdle, and waves of jewelry—
करैर्दधानामासीना पूजायां मत्पसस्थिताम्
Seated, holding (objects) in her hands, established in worship, and abiding in my seat—
पूजयेत्तद्वदभितः स्मितास्या विजयादिकाः
He should worship before her, with a smiling face, the goddesses of victory and the like.
यस्याः स्मरणतो नश्येद्गरलं त्रिविधं क्षणात्
By whose remembrance, the threefold poison is destroyed instantly.
