मालावतीमुखाष्टानां चन्द्रावल्यधिपास्मृता
Among the eight headed by Malavati, Candravali is remembered as their leader.
राधाचरणपूजायामुक्ता मालावतीमुखाः
In the worship of Radha's feet, those headed by Malavati are liberated.
कलावती मधुमती विशाखा श्यामलाभिधा
Kalavati, Madhumati, Vishakha, and one called Shyamala,
सुशीलाप्रमुखा श्चान्याः सख्यो द्वात्रिंशदीरिताः
And others headed by Sushila, the friends are said to be thirty-two in number.
सुशीलां शशिलेखा च यमुना माधवी रतिः
Sushila, Shashilekha, Yamuna, Madhavi, and Rati,
चन्द्रानना पद्ममुखी सावित्री च सुधामुखी
Chandranana, Padmamukhi, Savitri, and Sudhamukhi,
कालिका कमला दुर्गा विरजा भारती सुरा
Kalika, Kamala, Durga, Viraja, Bharati, and Sura,
अपर्णा मनसानन्दा द्वात्रिंशद्राधिकाप्रियाः
Aparna, Manasananda, and thirty-two beloved of Radhika.
ससर्ज षोडशकलास्ताः सर्वास्तत्समप्रभाः
She created them, all possessing sixteen aspects, and all equal in radiance to her.
वर्णये सर्वतन्त्रेषु रहस्यं मुनिसत्तम
I describe, O best of sages, the secret in all the tantras.
विमुखं चरशुचिविभू वनस्वशक्तयः स्वराः
The pure powers of the forest, the tones, the movements, and the sacred manifestations.
ज्यकुमभ्रं तथा नादो दावकः पाथ इत्यथ
Jyakumabhra, also sound, fire, and water, thus.
भूमी रसो नमो व्याप्तं दाहश्चापि रसांबु च
Earth, taste, bowing, pervading, burning, and also the essence of water.
चन्द्रावली च ललिता हंसेला नायके मते
Candravali and Lalita, Hamsela, are regarded as leaders.
शेषास्तु षोडशकला द्वात्रिंशत्तत्कलाः स्मृताः
The rest are sixteen aspects, remembered as thirty-two subordinate aspects.
ललिताप्रमुखाणां तु षोडशीत्वमुपागता
Among those headed by Lalita, the state of possessing sixteen aspects has been attained.
कुरुकुल्ला च वाराही चन्द्रालिललिते उभे
Kurukullā and Vārāhī, both resplendent with the beauty of the moon,
हृत्प्राणेलाहंसदावह्निस्वैर्ललितेरिता
Are illumined by the subtle play of the heart, breath, elā, haṃsa, and fire.
हंसाद्ययाद्या मध्या स्यादादिमध्यस्थहंसया
The one beginning with haṃsa is the first, the one beginning with ya is the middle, and the one beginning with haṃsa in the middle is the intermediate.
आसु तुर्याभवन्मुक्त्यै तिस्रो ऽन्याः स्युश्चसंपदे
Among these, the fourth is for liberation; the other three are for prosperity.
दाहभूमीरसाक्ष्मास्वैर्वशिनीबीजमीरितम्
In the subtle regions of fire, earth, and water, the seed of Vaśinī is uttered.
शून्यमंबुरसावह्निस्वयोगान्मोहनीमनुः
In the void, water, and fire, through their union, is the Mohinī mantra.
ज्यानभोदाहवह्निस्वयोगैः स्यादरुणामनुः
Through the union of knowledge, earth, fire, and their own energies, arises the Aruṇā mantra.
कं नभोदाहसहितं व्याप्तक्ष्मास्वयुतं मनुः
The Kaṃ mantra, together with ether and fire, pervades the earth and is endowed with its own force.
ग्रासो नभोदाहवह्निस्वैर्युक्तः कौलिनीमनुः
The mantra of Kaulinī is joined with ether, fire, and the act of consuming.
वाग्देवतान्तैर्न्यासः स्याद्येन देव्यात्मको भवेत्
By means of the mantras of the speech-goddesses, the nyāsa is performed, by which one becomes identified with the goddess.
नाभावाधारके पादद्वये मूलाग्रकावधि
At the navel, in the support, at both feet, and up to the tips of the roots,
लोहितां ललितां बाणचापपाशसृणीः करैः
She is red, beautiful, holding arrows, bow, noose, and goad in her hands.
मध्यस्थदेवी त्वेकैव षोडशाकारतः स्थाता
The goddess in the center alone stands in sixteen forms.
ऋषिः शिवश्छन्द उक्ता देवता ललितादिकाः
The seer is Śiva, the meter is as stated, and the deities are Lalitā and the others.
