हिमाद्भिः कन्यया पिष्टमेतत्सर्वं सुसाधितम्
All this should be well ground with cold water by a maiden.
वनितामदगर्वाढ्या मदोन्मत्तान्मतन्दजान्
Women full of pride, intoxicated, or born from intoxication,
दर्शनादेव वशयेत्तिलकं धारयन्नरः
A man wearing the tilaka will subdue them merely by being seen.
वाङ्माया कमला तारो नमोन्ते भगवत्यथ
O goddess of speech, Lakṣmī, and Tārā, I bow to you, O blessed one.
सर्वादिसुखराज्यन्ते सर्वादिसुखरञ्जनी
You are the source of all happiness and the delight of all pleasures.
स्त्रीपुरुषवशं सृष्टिविद्याक्रोधिनिकान्विता
Endowed with the power to control women and men, and with the knowledge of creation and wrath.
सर्वसत्त्ववशङ्करिसर्वलोकं ततः परम्
Then, supreme over all worlds, the one who brings all beings under control.
अष्टाशीत्यक्षरो मन्त्रो मुन्याद्या भैरवीगताः
The mantra consists of eighty-eight syllables; sages and others have entered the Bhairavi path.
शिरोललाटभ्रूमध्ये तालुकण्ठगलोरसि
On the head, forehead, between the brows, palate, throat, neck, and chest.
स्वाधिष्ठाने गुप्तदेशे पादयोर्दक्षवामयोः
In the svadhisthana, the secret place, and on the right and left feet.
गुणैकद्विचतुः षड्भिर्वसुपर्वनवाष्टभिः
With one, two, four, six, eight, nine, or eight syllables, corresponding to the qualities and lunar phases.
यदुकॢप्तिरियं प्रोक्ता मन्त्रवर्णैर्यथाक्रमम्
This arrangement is declared, step by step, with the mantra syllables as prescribed.
वाक्शक्तिलक्ष्मीबीजाद्या मातङ्ग्यन्ताः प्रविन्यसेत्
Beginning with the seed syllables of speech, power, and fortune, ending with Mātaṅgī, one should arrange them.
हृल्लेखां गगनां रक्तां भूयो मन्त्री करालिकाम्
The practitioner should again place the hṛllekā, the sky, and the red karālikā mantra.
मातङ्ग्यन्ताः षडङ्गानि ततः कुर्वीत साधकः
Then, the adept should perform the six limbs, ending with Mātaṅgī.
शिखाष्टादशभिः प्रोक्ता वर्म तावद्भिरक्षरैः
The armor is spoken of with eighteen syllables at the crown, with as many letters.
बाणन्यासं ततः कुर्याद्भैरवीप्रोक्तवर्त्मना
Then, one should perform the placement of arrows according to the Bhairavi method.
पार्स्वकट्योर्नाभिदेशे कटिपार्श्वांशके पुनः
At the sides, hips, navel region, and again at the hip and side portions.
मदनं पुष्पधन्वानं पञ्चमं कुसुमायुधम्
Madana, the flower-armed, the fifth, the wielder of the floral bow.
मातङ्ग्यन्तास्ततो न्यस्येत्स्थानेष्वेतेषु मन्त्रवित्
Then, the mantra-knower should place the Mātaṅgī endings at these locations.
मदनवेगा सम्भवा च भुवनपालेन्दुरेखिका
Madana's force, Sambhava, and the lunar line of the lord of worlds.
विन्यस्तव्यास्ततो मूले ऽधिष्ठाने मणिपूरके
Then, these should be placed at the root, the seat, and the maṇipūra.
आद्ये लक्ष्मीसरस्वत्यौ रतिः प्रीतिश्च कृत्तिका
At the beginning, Lakṣmī and Sarasvatī, Rati, Prīti, and Kṛttikā.
मूलमन्त्रं पृथङ्न्यस्येन्निजमूर्द्धनि मन्त्रवित्
The mantra-knower should separately place the root mantra on his own head.
कण्ठदेशे भ्रवोर्मध्ये बिन्दौ भूयः कला पदोः
At the region of the throat, between the eyebrows, at the bindu, again at the limbs, and at the feet.
उन्नतांसेषु वक्त्रे च ध्रुवमण्डलके शिवे
On the raised shoulders and the face, in the dhruva-maṇḍala, O Śiva.
रौद्रीं प्रशान्तां श्रद्धाख्यां पुनर्माहेश्वरीमथ
The Raudrī, the Peaceful, the one called Faith, and then the Māheśvarī.
प्रमथाश्वासिनीं विद्युल्लतां चिच्छक्तिमप्यथ
Also Pramathāśvāsinī, Vidyullatā, and the very Consciousness Power.
शिरोभालहृदाधारेष्वेता बीजत्रयाधिकाः
At the head, arms, and heart-centers, these are endowed with the threefold seed-syllables.
मातङ्गीं महदाद्यां तां महालक्ष्मीपदादिकाम्
Mātaṅgī, the foremost of the great ones, and Mahālakṣmī, beginning from the feet.
