प्रेतपद्मासनं ङेंतं नमोन्तः पीठमन्त्रकः
The seat is to be prepared in the form of a corpse or a lotus, and the seat-mantra should be recited inwardly.
आवाह्य प्रजपेद्देवीमुपचारैः पृथग्विधैः
Having invoked the goddess, one should worship her with various distinct offerings.
वामकोणे रतिं दक्षे प्रीतिमग्रे मनोभवाम्
In the left corner, Rati; in the right, Priti; in front, Manobhava.
मध्ययोमेर्हहिः पूर्वादिषु चाग्रे स्मरानपि
In the middle, Yomerhahi; in the east and other directions in front, also Smara and others.
सुभगाख्या भागा पश्चात्तृतीया भगसर्पिणी
Subhaga is the name of the portion at the back; the third is Bhagasarpini.
अनङ्गमेखलानङ्गमदनेत्यष्टशक्तयः
Anaṅga, Mekhala, Anaṅgamada—these are the eight powers.
दीर्घाद्या मातरः पूज्या ह्रस्वाद्याश्चाष्टभैरवाः
The Mothers beginning with Dīrgha are to be worshipped; the eight Bhairavas begin with Hrasva.
मलयं कोल्लगिर्य्याख्यं चौहाराख्यं कुलान्तकम्
Malaya, Kollagiri, Uhhara, and Kulāntaka are their names.
भूगृहे दशदिक्ष्वर्चेद्धेतुकं त्रिपुरान्तकम्
In the house and in the ten directions, one should worship Hetuka and Tripurāntaka.
एकपादं भीमरूपं विमलं हाटकेश्वरम्
Ekapāda, Bhīmarūpa, Vimala, and Hāṭakeśvara are to be worshipped.
तद्बहिर्दिक्षु बटुकं योगिनीं क्षेत्रनायकम्
Outside those directions, Baṭuka, Yoginī, and Kṣetranāyaka are to be worshipped.
भूतांश्चेत्थं भजन्बालामीशः स्याद्धनविद्ययोः
Thus worshipping these beings, the lord attains mastery over wealth and knowledge.
नन्द्यावर्तै राजवृक्षैः कुन्दैः पाटलचंपकैः
With nandyāvarta, royal trees, kunda, pāṭala, and campaka flowers—
अपमृत्युं जयेन्मन्त्री गुडूच्या दुग्धयुक्तया
The minister conquers untimely death with guḍūcī mixed with milk.
ज्ञानं कवित्वं लभते चन्द्रागुरुसुरैर्हुतैः
By offering candrāgura and other divine substances, one attains knowledge and poetic skill.
सुरभिक्षीरदध्यक्तांल्लाजान्हुत्वा रुजो जयेत्
By offering popped rice soaked in fragrant milk and curd, one conquers diseases.
चन्दनं केशरं मांसीं क्रमाद्भागैनिंयोजयेत्
One should successively mix sandalwood, saffron, and māṃsī.
श्मशाने कृष्णभूतस्य निशि नीहारपाथसा
At night, in a cremation ground, on black earth, in the path of mist—
विदद्ध्यात्तिलकं तेन दर्शनाद्वशयेज्जनान्
One should make a tilaka with that; by its sight, one subjugates people.
प्रयोजनानां सिद्ध्यै तु देव्याः शापं निवर्त्य च
For the accomplishment of aims, and to remove the goddess’s curse—
यो जपेदादिमे बीजे वराहभृगुपावकान्
Whoever recites these seed-syllables of Varāha, Bhṛgu, and Pāvaka—
आदावन्ते च तार्तूयक्रमात्स्वं धूम्रकेतनम्
At the beginning and end, in order, one’s own smoke-bannered (seed).
यद्वाद्ये चरमे बीजे नैव रेफं वियोजयेत्
In the first and last seed, one should not join the 'repha' (the 'r' sound).
आद्यमाद्यं हि तार्तीयं कामः कामो ऽथ वाग्भवम्
The first with the first, the third with desire; desire, then speech-born.
जप्तो ऽयं शतधा शापं बालाया विनिवर्तयेत्
Recited a hundred times, this removes the curse from the young girl.
त्रिस्वराश्चेतनं मन्त्री धरः शान्तिरनुग्रहः
With three tones: consciousness, mantra, support, peace, and favor.
तथा त्रयाणां बीजानां दीपनैर्मनुभिस्त्रिभिः
Likewise, for the three seeds, by lighting lamps with three mantras—
वदयुग्मं सदीर्घांबु स्मृतिवालावनङ्गतौ
A pair of voiced letters, long, with water—memory, strength, and love’s attainment.
क्लिन्ने क्लेदिनि वैकुण्ठो दीर्घं स्वं सद्यगोन्तिमः
When moistened, in the moistening, Vaikuṇṭha; long, one’s own, immediately the last.
तारो मोक्षं च कुरुते नायं वर्णास्यदीपिनी
The tāra grants liberation; this is not a letter that kindles.
