यं यं पश्यति तस्यासौ दासवज्जायते क्षणात्
Whomever she sees, he instantly becomes like a servant to her.
तेन मत्रेण संवेष्ट्य निबद्धं रक्ततन्तुभिः
Bound with that mantra and wrapped with red threads, it is secured.
उच्चाटयति सप्ताहात्सकुण्टुबान्विरोधिनः
Within seven days, it expels adversaries along with their followers.
रविवारे निशीथिन्यां सहस्रमभिमन्त्रयेत्
On Sunday at midnight, one should consecrate a thousand with mantra.
क्षेत्रे क्षिप्तं सस्यहान्योजवहृत्तुरमालयेत्
When placed in a field, it destroys crops and causes swift ruin.
बाह्ये ऽष्टवर्गयुक्पत्रं पद्मभूमिपरावृतम्
Outside, with eight-leaved foliage, encircled by lotus and earth.
पट्टसूत्रेण सन्नद्धं शिशुकण्ठगतं ध्रुवम्
Fastened with a silk thread, it is always worn around the neck of a child.
नृणां दक्षिणबाहुस्थं निर्धनानां धनप्रदम्
Placed on the right arm of men, it bestows wealth upon the poor.
ज्ञानदं ज्ञानमिच्छूनां राज्ञां तु विजयप्रदम्
It grants knowledge to those desiring wisdom, and victory to kings.
अथ लक्ष्म्यवतारांस्ते वक्ष्ये सर्वार्थसिद्धिदान्
Now I shall describe those incarnations of Lakṣmī, which grant the fulfillment of all aims.
ऋषिः स्याद्दक्षिणामूर्तिः पङ्क्तिश्छन्दः प्रकीर्तितम्
The sage is Dakṣiṇāmūrti; the meter is Paṅkti, as has been declared.
नाभेरापादमाद्यं तु नाभ्यन्तं हृदयात्परम्
From the navel to the feet is the first part; from the navel to the heart is the next.
आद्यं वामकरे दक्षकरे तदुभयोः परम्
The first is on the left hand, the second on the right hand, and the third on both.
नव योन्पाभिधं न्यासे नवकृत्वो मनुं न्यसेत्
One should place the mantra, called Nava-Yoni, nine times in the ritual.
नेत्रयोर्नासिकायां च स्कन्धयोरुदरे तथा
On the two eyes, the nose, the two shoulders, and also on the abdomen.
पादयोरपि गुह्ये च पार्श्वयोर्हृदये पुनः
On the feet, the genital region, the sides, and again on the heart.
वाग्भवाद्यां रतिं गुह्ये प्रीतिमत्यादिकां हृदि
Beginning with Vāgbhava, one should place delight in the genital region and affection in the heart.
पुनर्वागकात्ममाद्यास्तिस्रएव च विन्यसेत्
Again, the three beginning with Vāgākāma should be placed.
मूर्ध्निं वक्त्रे हृदि न्यस्येद्गुह्ये चरणयोरपि
One should place them on the head, mouth, heart, genital region, and also on the feet.
मायाकामौ च वाग्लक्ष्मी कामेशी पञ्चबीजकम्
Māyā, Kāma, Vāg, Lakṣmī, Kāmeśī—the five seed syllables.
कामदेवः स्मरः पञ्च कीर्तितान्याससिद्धिदाः
Kāmadeva, Smara, and the five are said to grant success in the ritual.
द्राविण्याद्याः क्रमान्न्यस्येद्वाणेशीबीजपूर्वकः
One should place Drāviṇī and the others in sequence, preceded by the seed syllable of Vāṇeśī.
द्राविणी क्षोभिणी वशीकरण्याङ्कर्षणी तथा
Drāviṇī, Kṣobhiṇī, Vaśīkaraṇī, and Āṅkarṣaṇī likewise.
तार्तीयवाग्मध्यगेन कामेन स्यात्षडङ्गकम्
With the third, joined by the middle of Vāg, and by Kāma, it becomes sixfold.
ध्यायेद्रक्तसरोजस्थां रक्तवस्त्रां त्रिलोचनम्
One should meditate on her seated on a red lotus, wearing red garments, and having three eyes.
लक्षत्रयं जपेन्मन्त्रं दशांशं किंशुकोद्भवैः
One should recite the mantra three hundred thousand times, with one-tenth using Kiṃśuka flowers.
नवयोन्यात्मकं यन्त्रं बहिरष्टदलावृतम्
The yantra, consisting of Nava-Yoni, is surrounded outside by eight petals.
दलाग्रेषु त्रिशूलानि पद्म तु मातृकावृतम्
At the tips of the petals are tridents; the lotus is encircled by the letters of the Mother.
इच्छा ज्ञाना क्रिया चैव कामिनी कामदायिनी
Desire, knowledge, and action—these three, indeed, are the wish-fulfilling powers of the goddess of desire.
पीठशक्तीरिमा इष्ट्वा पीठं तन्मनुना दिशेत्
Having worshipped these seat-powers, one should assign the seat with its corresponding mantra.
