वरुणो वत्सनाभश्च पनसाः सह चन्दनैः नीपाः सुमनसश्चैव निम्बा अश्वत्थतिन्दुकाः
There were varuṇa trees, vatsanābha, jackfruit trees along with sandalwoods, kadamba, sumanasa, neem, peepal, and tinduka trees.
पारिजाताश्च लोध्राश्च मल्लिका भद्रदारवः आमलक्यस्तथा जम्बूलकुचाः शैलवालुकाः
There were pārijāta, lodhra, jasmine, bhadradāru, amalaki, jambū, kucā, and śailavāluka trees.
खर्जूर्यो नारिकेलाश्च हरीतकविभीतकाः कालीयका द्रुकालाश्च हिङ्गवः पारियात्रकाः
There were date palms, coconut trees, harītakī, vibhitaka, kālīyaka, drukāla, asafoetida, and pāriyātraka trees.
मन्दारकुन्दलक्ताश्च पतङ्गाः कुटजास्तथा रक्ताः कुरण्टकाश्चैव नीलाश्चागरुभिः सह
There were mandāra, kunda, lakta, pataṅga, and kuṭaja trees, as well as red kuraṇṭaka and blue trees together with agaru.
कदम्बाश्चैव भव्याश्च दाडिमा बीजपूरकाः सप्तपर्णाश्च बिल्वाश्च मधुपैरावृतास्तथा

नानापुष्पफलोपेता व्यराजन्त समन्ततः चकोराः शतपत्राश्च मत्तकोकिलसारिकाः

He sat upon a splendid seat, modest in size, radiant like the sun, divine, and covered with celestial cushions.
दिव्यगन्धवहस्तत्र मारुतः सुसुखो ववौ हिरण्यकशिपुर्दैत्य आस्ते ज्वलितकुण्डलः
There, a gentle wind carrying divine fragrance blew pleasantly, as Hiraṇyakaśipu, the Daitya, sat with his blazing earrings.
उपचेरुर्महादैत्यं हिरण्यकशिपुं तदा दिव्यतानेन गीतानि जगुर् गन्धर्वसत्तमाः

एताः सहस्रशश्चान्या नृत्यगीतविशारदाः उपतिष्ठन्ति राजानं हिरण्यकशिपुं प्रभुम्
Thousands of others, skilled in dance and song, attend upon King Hiraṇyakaśipu, the lord.
तत्रासीनं महाबाहुं हिरण्यकशिपुं प्रभुम् उपासते दितेः पुत्राः सर्वे लब्धवरास्तथा
There, seated, is mighty-armed Hiraṇyakaśipu, the lord; all the sons of Diti, having received boons, worship him.

घटोदरो महापार्श्वः क्रथनः पिठरस्तथा विश्वरूपः सुरूपश्च स्वबलश्च महाबलः

दशग्रीवश्च वाली च मेघवासा महासुरः घटास्यो ऽकम्पनश्चैव प्रजनश्चेन्द्रतापनः

दैत्यदानवसंघास्ते सर्वे ज्वलितकुण्डलाः स्रग्विणो वाग्मिनः सर्वे सदैव चरितव्रताः
All those hosts of Daityas and Dānavas, adorned with blazing earrings and garlands, eloquent, ever steadfast in their vows.
सर्वे लब्धवराः शूराः सर्वे विगतमृत्यवः एते चान्ये च बहवो हिरण्यकशिपुं प्रभुम्
All are heroic, granted boons, freed from death; these and many others attend upon Hiraṇyakaśipu, the lord.
उपासन्ति महात्मानं सर्वे दिव्यपरिच्छदाः विमानैर्विविधाकारैर् भ्राजमानैरिवाग्निभिः
All, possessing divine ornaments, worship the great-souled one, arriving in radiant aerial chariots of various forms, shining like fire.
महेन्द्रवपुषः सर्वे विचित्राङ्गदबाहवः भूषिताङ्गा दितेः पुत्रास् तमुपासन्त सर्वशः
All, with bodies like Mahendra, adorned with wondrous armlets, the sons of Diti, decorated, worship him in every way.
तस्यां सभायां दिव्यायाम् असुराः पर्वतोपमाः हिरण्यवपुषः सर्वे दिवाकरसमप्रभाः
In that divine assembly, the asuras, massive as mountains, all with golden bodies, shine with brilliance like the sun.
न श्रुतं नैव दृष्टं हि हिरण्यकशिपोर्यथा ऐश्वर्यं दैत्यसिंहस्य यथा तस्य महात्मनः
Never heard nor seen was the majesty of Hiraṇyakaśipu, lion of the Daityas, such was the greatness of that high-souled one.
कनकरजतचित्रवेदिकायां परिहृतरत्नविचित्रवीथिकायाम् स ददर्श मृगाधिपः सभायां सुरचितरत्नगवाक्षशोभितायाम्
Upon a platform adorned with gold and silver, with gem-studded avenues, the lord of beasts beheld the assembly, radiant with windows inlaid with celestial gems.
कनकविमलहारभूषिताङ्गं दितितनयं स मृगाधिपो ददर्श दिवसकरमहाप्रभाज्वलन्तं दितिजसहस्रशतैर्निषेव्यमाणम्
He saw the son of Diti, his body adorned with pure golden garlands, shining with the brilliance of the sun, attended by thousands and hundreds of Daityas.
