Now, I shall expound the excellent mountain of sugar; by whose donation, Vishnu, Arka, and Rudra are always pleased.
With eight loads of sugar, the mountain is considered supreme; with four, it is called middling; with two loads, it is regarded as inferior.
One of limited wealth may make a mountain with a half-load or a quarter-load; a person should construct mountains with a fourth portion.

Everything, as with the grain mountain, should be prepared together with nectar; likewise, three golden trees should be placed atop Meru.
Mandara, Parijata, and the third, the wish-fulfilling tree—this trio of trees should be established at the summit of all mountains.

Two sandalwood trees, one on the east and one on the west side, should be placed on every mountain, especially on the sugar mountain.
On Mandara, the deity of desire should always face west; on the peak of Gandhamadana, the god of wealth should face north.
On the great mountain, the form of the Veda, the swan, should face east; on the golden side, Surabhi should face south.
As with the grain mountain, all the rites of invocation should be performed; then, one should give the middle mountain to the teacher, and the four mountains to the priests, reciting the mantras.
This mountain, filled with sugar, is the essence of the nectar of fortune; therefore, O lord of mountains, always be the bringer of joy.

Because sugar arose from the middle of the bow of the god of love, you are composed of it, O great mountain; protect us from the ocean of worldly existence.
Whoever gives the sugar mountain according to this procedure, that man, freed from all sins, attains the supreme state.

Ascending a vehicle radiant like the moon, stars, and sun, together with his dependents, he proceeds there, impelled by Vishnu.
Then, at the end of a hundred aeons, he becomes the lord of the seven continents, endowed with long life and health, for three thousand births.

Those golden divine trees were illuminated by his wife; Līlāvatī served at the side of the mountain, O king.
Having performed, without deceit, service to the teacher and other duties, Līlāvatī, even in her time as a courtesan, did so with great dedication.
