इति पठति शृणोति वा य इत्थं गिरितनयाव्रतम् इन्द्रवाससंस्थः मतिमपि च ददाति सो ऽपि देवैर् अमरवधूजनकिंनरैश्च पूज्यः
Whoever recites or listens to the vow of the mountain-daughter in this manner, while wearing Indra's garments, and offers their mind, is honored by the gods, celestial maidens, and kinnaras.
अथान्यामपि वक्ष्यामि तृतीयां पापनाशिनीम् रसकल्याणिनीमेतां पुराकल्पविदो विदुः
Now I will speak of another, the third, which destroys sin and brings good fortune; those versed in ancient rites know it thus.
माघमासे तु सम्प्राप्ते तृतीयां शुक्लपक्षतः प्रातर्गव्येन पयसा तिलैः स्नानं समाचरेत्
When the month of Māgha arrives, on the third day of the waxing fortnight, one should bathe in the morning with cow's milk and sesame seeds.
स्नापयेन्मधुना देवीं तथैवेक्षुरसेन च गन्धोदकेन तु पुनर् लेपयेत्कुङ्कुमेन तु दक्षिणाङ्गानि सम्पूज्य ततो वामानि पूजयेत्
One should bathe the goddess with honey and likewise with sugarcane juice; then anoint her again with fragrant water, and with saffron, after worshipping her right limbs, then worship her left.
ललितायै नमो देव्याः पादौ गुल्फौ ततो ऽर्चयेत् जङ्घां जानुं तथा शान्त्यै तथैवोरुं श्रियै नमः
Salutations to the goddess Lalitā; after worshipping her feet and ankles, one should worship her shins and knees for peace, and likewise her thighs for prosperity.
मदालसायै तु कटिम् अमलायै तथोदरम् स्तनौ मदनवासिन्यै कुमुदायै च कन्दराम्
To Madālasā, the waist; to Amalā, the abdomen; to Madanavāsinī, the breasts; and to Kumudā, the hollows.
भुजं भुजाग्रं माधव्यै कमलायै मुखस्मिते भूललाटं च रुद्राण्यै शंकरायै तथालकान्
To Mādhavī, the arm and hand; to Kamalā, the smiling face; to Rudrāṇī, the forehead; to Śaṃkarā, the hair.
मुकुटं विश्ववासिन्यै शिरः कान्त्यै तथार्चयेत् मदनायै ललाटं तु मोहनायै पुनर्भ्रुवौ
To Viśvavāsinī, the crown; to Kāntī, the head; to Madanā, the forehead; and again to Mohanā, the eyebrows.
नेत्रे चन्द्रार्धधारिण्यै तुष्ट्यै च वदनं पुनः उत्कण्ठिन्यै नमः कण्ठम् अमृतायै नमः स्तनौ
To Candrārdhadhāriṇī, the eyes; to Tuṣṭī, the mouth; to Utkaṇṭhinī, the throat; to Amṛtā, the breasts.
रम्भायै वामकुक्षिं च विशोकायै नमः कटिम् हृदयं मन्मथाधिष्ण्यै पाटलायै तथोदरम्
To Rambhā, the left side; to Viśokā, the waist; to Manmathādhiṣṭhā, the heart; to Pāṭalā, the abdomen.
कटिं सुरतवासिन्यै तथोरुं चम्पकप्रिये जानुजङ्घे नमो गौर्यै गायत्र्यै घुटिके नमः
To Suratavāsinī, the waist; to Campakapriyā, the thighs; to Gaurī, the knees and shins; to Gāyatrī, the ankles.
धराधरायै पादौ तु विश्वकायै नमः शिरः नमो भवान्यै कामिन्यै कामदेव्यै जगत्प्रिये
To Dharādharā, the feet; to Viśvakā, the head; salutations to Bhavānī, Kāminī, Kāmadevī, beloved of the world.
आनन्दायै सुनन्दायै सुभद्रायै नमो नमः एवं सम्पूज्य विधिवद् द्विजदाम्पत्यम् अर्चयेत् भोजयित्वान्नपानेन मधुरेण विमत्सरः
To Ānandā, Sunandā, and Subhadrā, repeated salutations; thus, having worshipped properly, one should honor a Brahmin couple, feeding them with sweet food and drink, free from envy.
जलपूरितं तथा कुम्भं शुक्लाम्बरयुगद्वयम् दत्त्वा सुवर्णकमलं गन्धमाल्यैः समर्चयेत्
One should offer a water-filled pot, two sets of white garments, and a golden lotus, worshipping with fragrance and garlands.
प्रीयतामत्र कुमुदा गृह्णीयाल्लवणव्रतम् अनेन विधिना देवी मासि मासि सदार्चयेत्
May Kumudā be pleased here; one should undertake the salt vow. By this method, the goddess should be worshipped every month.
लवणं वर्जयेन्माघे फाल्गुने च गुडं पुनः तैलं राजिं तथा चैत्रे वर्ज्यं च मधु माधवे
Salt should be avoided in Māgha; in Phālguna, jaggery; again, oil and sesame in Caitra; and honey in Mādhava.
पानकं ज्येष्ठमासे तु आषाढे चाथ जीरकम् श्रावणे वर्जयेत्क्षीरं दधि भाद्रपदे तथा
In the month of Jyeshtha, one should avoid sweet drinks; in Ashadha, cumin; in Shravana, milk; and in Bhadrapada, curd.
घृतमाश्वयुजे तद्वद् ऊर्जे वर्ज्यं च माक्षिकम् धान्यकं मार्गशीर्षे तु पौषे वर्ज्या च शर्करा
In Ashvina, likewise, ghee is to be avoided; in Kartika, honey; in Margashirsha, coriander; and in Pausha, sugar.
व्रतान्ते करकं पूर्णम् एतेषां मासि मासि च दद्याद्द्विकालवेलायां पूर्णपात्रेण संयुतम्
At the end of the vow, each month, one should offer a full vessel at both meal times, filled to the brim.
लड्डुकाञ्छ्वेतवर्णांश्च संयावमथ पूरिकाः घारिकान् अप्यपूपांश्च पिष्टापूपांश्च मण्डकान्
One should offer white-colored laddus, as well as samyava, purikas, ghari cakes, apupa cakes, flour cakes, and mandaka cakes.
क्षीरं शाकं च दध्यन्नम् इण्डर्यो ऽशोकवर्तिकाः माघादिक्रमशो दद्याद् एतानि करकोपरि
Milk, cooked vegetables, curd-rice, fried cakes, ashoka sticks, and indra cakes should be given, month by month from Magha onwards, placing them on the vessel.
कुमुदा माधवी गौरी रम्भा भद्रा जया शिवा उमा रतिः सती तद्वन् मङ्गला रतिलालसा
Kumuda, Madhavi, Gauri, Rambha, Bhadra, Jaya, Shiva, Uma, Rati, Sati, Mangala, and Ratilalasa—
क्रमान्माघादि सर्वत्र प्रीयतामिति कीर्तयेत् सर्वत्र पञ्चगव्येन प्राशनं समुदाहृतम् उपवासी भवेन्नित्यम् अशक्ते नक्तमिष्यते
One should recite, month by month from Magha onwards, 'May all be pleased.' Everywhere, taking Panchagavya is prescribed. One should always fast; if unable, night-meals are permitted.
पुनर्माघे तु सम्प्राप्ते शर्करां करकोपरि कृत्वा तु काञ्चनीं गौरीं पञ्चरत्नसमन्विताम्
Again, when Magha arrives, one should place sugar on the vessel and a golden image of Gauri adorned with five gems.
हैमीमङ्गुष्ठमात्रां च साक्षसूत्रकमण्डलुम् चतुर्भुजामिन्दुयुतां सितनेत्रपटावृताम्
A golden image the size of a thumb, with a rosary and water-pot, four-armed, adorned with the moon, and wrapped in white-eyed cloth.
तद्वद्गोमिथुनं शुक्लं सुवर्णास्यं सिताम्बरम् सवस्त्रभाजनं दद्याद् भवानी प्रीयतामिति
Likewise, a pair of white cows with golden faces and white garments, along with vessels and clothing, should be given, saying, 'May Bhavani be pleased.'
अनेन विधिना यस्तु रसकल्याणिनीव्रतम् कुर्यात्स सर्वपापेभ्यस् तत्क्षणादेव मुच्यते
Whoever performs the Rasakalyanini vow according to this procedure is instantly freed from all sins.
नवार्बुदसहस्रं तु न दुःखी जायते नरः सुवर्णकमलं गौरि मासि मासि ददन्नरः अग्निष्टोमसहस्रस्य यत्फलं तदवाप्नुयात्
A man does not experience suffering for nine thousand crores of years; giving a golden lotus to Gauri each month, he attains the fruit of a thousand Agnishtoma sacrifices.
नारी वा कुरुते या तु कुमारी वा वरानने विधवा या तथा नारी सापि तत्फलमाप्नुयात् सौभाग्यारोग्यसम्पन्ना गौरीलोके महीयते
Whether a woman, a maiden, or a widow performs this, she too attains that result, endowed with good fortune and health, and is honored in the world of Gauri.
इति पठति शृणोति श्रावयेद्यः प्रसङ्गात् कलिकलुषविमुक्तः पार्वतीलोकमेति मतिमपि च नराणां यो ददाति प्रियार्थं विबुधपतिविमाने नायकः स्यादमोघः
Whoever recites, hears, or causes this to be heard, is freed from the taint of Kali and attains the world of Parvati; and whoever gives this for the sake of love becomes a leader in the celestial chariots, unfailing.
