The forest dwellers will have short lives and bodies, living by rivers and mountains, eating roots, leaves, and fruits.
Wearing bark, skins, and animal hides, they will resort to dreadful confusion; afflicted by calamities and suffering, with little gain and much hardship, such will be the people.
Thus, having fallen into hardship at the twilight of the age, they will then perish together with the Kali Yuga.
When that Kali Yuga has ended, then the Krita age will return; thus has the activity of gods and asuras been properly described.

In connection with the Yadu lineage, the fame of Vishnu has been recounted; now I will tell of Turvasu, as well as Puru, Druhyu, and Anu.

Thus, by Yayati's curse, in ancient times, through the transmission of old age, Turvasu entered the Paurava lineage.
Duṣyanta's heir was a king named Varūtha; from Varūtha came Aṇḍīra, and Saṃdhāna was his son.

Druhya had two valiant sons, Setu and Ketu; Setu's son was Sharadvān, and Gandhāra was his own son.
The land called Gandhāra is renowned by his name; the horses born in the region of Āraṭṭa are the finest among steeds.
Gandhāra's son was Dharma, whose own son was Ghṛta; from Ghṛta was born the wise Pracetā, and he too had a son.
Pracetā had a hundred sons, all of them kings; they were rulers of foreign lands, and all settled in the northern direction.
Anu also had three sons, heroic and supremely righteous: Sabhānara, Kākṣuṣa, and Parameṣu likewise.
Sabhānara's son was the learned king Kolāhala; Kolāhala's virtuous son was the renowned Saṃjaya.
Saṃjaya's son was the valiant Puraṃjaya; the great king Janamejaya was the son of Puraṃjaya.

Mahāśāla's righteous son was Mahāmanā; Mahāmanā was born as the emperor, lord of the seven continents.
Mahāmanā fathered two renowned sons: Uśīnara, who knew righteousness, and Titikṣu; both were eminent.
Uśīnara's wives were five, descended from royal sages: Bhṛśā, Kṛśā, Navā, Darśā, and the noble Dṛṣadvatī.
Uśīnara's sons, born from these wives, were distinguished in their lineage; through great austerity, they were born virtuous and venerable.

Their realms flourished: Kekayas, Bhadrakas, Sauvīras, and Pauras; likewise, the Kekayas were descendants of Nṛga.
Suvrata's descendants were the Ambaṣṭhas; Kṛśa's were the Vṛṣalas of the city; Nava's were the Navarāṣṭras; now hear of Titikṣu's progeny.
Titikṣu became a renowned king in the eastern direction; his son was Bṛhadratha, whose own son was Sena.
Sena's son was Sutapā; Sutapā's son was Bali, who was born in human form when the lineage had dwindled, by the wish for progeny.
But that great yogin, Bali, though bound in fetters, by his great soul produced five sons born of his own body, all of royal lineage.
He begot Anga, Vanga, Suhma, Pundra, and Kalinga; and the land called Baleya is so named. The Brahmins of Baleya are known as his descendants, O lord.
