With resolute hearts, the two warriors spoke to the Lord, saying, “Slay us both where the earth is not covered by water; let us fall in battle at your hands, for you are praiseworthy, and death is our rightful destiny.” Hearing their earnest plea, the sage replied, “So be it.” Then the Lord Himself—He who bears the conch, discus, and mace—raised his divine discus and, in a single motion, severed their heads and hips.
