அந்த பரமபுருஷன், whose feet reach deep into the seven netherworlds, whose thighs stretch across the seven continents, whose tusks are immersed in the seven oceans, and for whom Shiva himself is the womb of all sacred waters, stands as the embodiment of the cosmos. His vast body is the sky itself; his arms spread as the directions; his eyes shine as the moon, sun, and fire. He is the destroyer of the mighty demon-trees and is supreme in the knowledge of Brahman. He is bound by divine ropes woven by Brahma and other gods, held fast by yogic bonds, and tied to the pillar called the lotus of the heart, restraining all activity. His face is that of the serpent king, surrounded by countless hosts, accomplished in deep meditation upon Shiva. May he directly dispel my sins. Bhringi, with tawny eyes, covered in sacred ashes, possessing a divine body, and ever devoted to Shiva-worship, shines gloriously. May Bhringi remove my sins. Skanda, with four bodies at all times, destroyer of all demons, bearer of the spear, tranquil and commanding, rides the peacock as the glorious commander of the divine army. May Skanda dispel my sins. Bhava, Sharva, Ishana, Rudra, and Pashupati—these fierce and formidable forms of Mahadeva, always devoted to Shiva-worship—may they remove my sins. Mahadeva, Shiva, Rudra, Shankara, Nīlalohita, Ishana, Vijaya, Bhīma, Devadeva, and Bhavodbhava—these supreme manifestations, may they dispel my impurities. Kapālīśa must be known, along with the Rudras, born from Rudra’s essence and adorned with Shiva’s salutations. May they remove my impurities. Vikartana, Vivasvān, Mārtaṇḍa, Bhāskara, Ravi—the illuminators and witnesses of worlds, and Trivikrama—these radiant Adityas, may they dispel my impurities. Aditya, Surya, Aṃśumān, Divākara—these twelve Adityas, may they remove my impurities. The sky, touch, light, taste, earth, the moon, the sun, the self, and the bodies spoken of by Shiva—may all these, with their divine powers, destroy my sins and fears. Vāsava, Pāvaka, Yama, and Nirṛti; Varuṇa, Vāyu, Soma, Ishana, the blessed Hari, and Pitāmaha, all devoted to meditation upon Shiva—may they remove the sins committed by my mind and actions. Nabhas, Sparśana, Vāyu, Anila, and Māruta, as spoken by Shiva, all devoted to his worship—may they dispel my impurities. Khecarī, Vasucārī, Brahmeśa, Brahmabrahmadhī, Suṣeṇa, Śāśvata, Pṛṣṭa, Supuṣṭa, and Mahābala—these are the Cāraṇas of Śambhu, deeply devoted to his worship. May they remove all impurity and sin committed by me. Knower of mantras, master of mantras, wise king of mantras, worshipped by Siddhas, supreme among Siddhas, Siddha, bestower of all perfections—may all Siddhas, worshippers of Shiva’s abode, remove my impurity: Yakṣa, Yakṣeśa, Dhanada, Jṛmbhaka, Maṇibhadraka, Pūrṇabhadreśvara, Mālī, Śitikuṇḍali, Narendra, and Yakṣeśas. Ananta, Kulika, Vāsuki, Takṣaka, Karkoṭaka, Mahāpadma, Śaṅkhapāla, and Mahābala—endowed with Shiva’s salutation and adorned with Shiva’s body—may they remove my sin, whether poison is immobile or moving. Vīṇā-knower, Kinnara, Surasena, Pramardana, Atiśaya, the practitioner, Gīta-knower, and Kinnaras—endowed with Shiva’s salutation, may they remove my impurity. Vidyādhara, Vibudha, treasury of knowledge, best among the learned—awakened, divine, prosperous, grateful, and of great renown—these are all the Vidyādharas, devoted to meditation upon Shiva. May they dispel terrible impurity by the grace of Mahadeva: Vāmadeva, Mahājambha, Kālanemi of great strength; Sugrīva, Mardaka, Piṅgala, Devamardana, Prahrāda, Anuhrāda, Saṃhrāda, and the two Bāṣkalas; Jambha, Kumbha the magician, Kārtavīrya, Kṛtaṃjaya—these great-souled Asuras are devoted to Mahadeva. May they dispel dreadful fear and demonic disposition: Garutmān, Khagati, Pakṣirāṭ, Nāgamardana, Nāgaśatru, Hiraṇyāṅga, Vainateya, Prabhañjana, Nāgāśīr, Viṣanāśa, and Viṣṇu’s vehicle as well. These Garuḍas, shining with golden hue, bearers of Vishnu, adorned with various ornaments—may they dispel my impurity. Agastya, Vasiṣṭha, Aṅgirā, Bhṛgu, Kāśyapa, Nārada, Dadhīca, and Cyavana, along with Upamanyu and other sages, all filled with devotion to Shiva and engaged in his worship—may they dispel my impurity. The fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers, Agniṣvāttas, Barhiṣads, and maternal ancestors as well—may those devoted to meditation upon Shiva dispel sinful fear. Lakṣmī, Dharaṇī, Gāyatrī, and Sarasvatī; Durgā, Uṣā, Śacī, Jyeṣṭhā, mothers worshipped by the gods, and the mothers of the gods and the mothers of the hosts as well—all mothers of beings, wherever they are, and the mothers of the hosts—by the grace of the God of gods, may they dispel my impurity. Urvaśī, Menakā, Rambhā, Rati, Tilottamā, Sumukhī, Durmukhī, Kāmukī, and Kāmavardhanī—these divine beings, may they, with their grace, remove all impurities and sins from me. Thus, with heartfelt prayer and reverence, the devotee seeks the cleansing and protection of all these divine beings, sages, ancestors, and mothers, each devoted to Shiva, so that all sin and fear may be dispelled.
