Then, when the seventeenth cycle arrives in its proper order, Vyasa will appear, named Devakṛtañjaya.
Even then, I shall be present, named Guhavāsin, in the delightful, lofty, and great abode on the peak of the Himalayas.
A field of accomplishment, supremely holy, will become a great abode; there also, my sons will be knowers of yoga and speakers of Brahman.

And those other great souls in the final age of Kali, who have fixed their minds in meditation, pure and with clear intellect,

By my grace, they will go to the world of Rudra, free from suffering, having reached the holy great abode and seen the supreme state of Maheshvara.
Having crossed, a being causes ten ancestors before and ten descendants after to cross as well; and having liberated himself as the twenty-first, he attains the great abode.
By my grace, they will go to the world of Rudra, free from affliction; then, O Lord, when the eighteenth cycle arrives—

Then, a sage named Ṛtañjaya Vyāsa will arise; at that time, I too will be present, known by the name Śikhaṇḍī.

Having attained the yoga of Maheśvara, they are absorbed into the world of Rudra; then, when the nineteenth cycle arrives in order—

Having attained the yoga of Maheśvara, they are established in the world of Rudra; then, when the twentieth cycle arrives—

Then Gautama will become Vyāsa, the great sage; at that time, I too will be present, known by the name Aṭṭahāsa.
And at that time, there will be men devoted to Aṭṭahāsa; there, on the slope of Himavat, is the great mountain Aṭṭahāsa.
Attended by gods, demons, yakṣa lords, siddhas, and celestial beings, there too, my sons will be born, possessing great energy.

Yogic in nature, great-souled, meditative, and firm in their vows—Sumantu, Barbarī, the learned Kabandha, and Kuśikaṃdhara.
Having attained the yoga of Maheśvara, they have gone to the world of Rudra; when the twenty-first cycle arrives in order—
When Vācaśravā is remembered as Vyāsa, the best of sages, at that time, I too will be present, known by the name Dāruka.

From him, the holy and auspicious Devadāru forest will arise; there too, my sons will be born, possessing great energy.
Plaksha, Darbhayana, Ketuman, and Gautama—these great souls, devoted to yoga, self-controlled and steadfast in celibacy—
Having undertaken the vow of lifelong celibacy, they attained the world of Rudra; and in the twenty-second cycle, when Vyasa is Shushmayana—
At that time, I too will be present in Varanasi as a great sage, known by the name Langali Bhima, where the gods along with Indra reside.
