ते ऽपि तेनैव मार्गेण योगोक्तेन तपस्विनः रुद्रलोकं गमिष्यन्ति पुनरावृत्तिदुर्लभम्

They too, by that very path prescribed by yoga, being ascetics, will go to Rudra’s world, where return is exceedingly rare.

दशमे द्वापरे व्यासः त्रिपाद्वै नाम नामतः यदा भविष्यते विप्रस् तदाहं भविता मुनिः

In the tenth Dvapara, Vyasa will be known as Tripadvai by name; when that happens, O Brahmin, I shall become a sage.

हिमवच्छिखरे रम्ये भृगुतुङ्गे नगोत्तमे नाम्ना भृगोस्तु शिखरं प्रथितं देवपूजितम्

On the beautiful peak of the Himalayas, on the eminent mountain called Bhrigutunga, the summit of Bhrigu, renowned and worshipped by the gods.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति दृढव्रताः बलबन्धुर्निरामित्रः केतुशृङ्गस्तपोधनः

There too, my sons will be steadfast in their vows: Balabandhu, Niramitra, Ketushringa, and Tapodhana.

योगात्मानो महात्मानस् तपोयोगसमन्विताः रुद्रलोकं गमिष्यन्ति तपसा दग्धकिल्बिषाः

Possessed of yoga, great souls endowed with austerity and yoga, they will reach the world of Rudra, their sins burned away by penance.

एकादशे द्वापरे तु व्यासस्तु त्रिव्रतो यदा तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि गङ्गाद्वारे कलौ तथा

In the eleventh Dvapara, when Vyasa is called Trivrata, I too shall appear at the gateway of the Ganga in the Kali age.

उग्रो नाम महातेजाः सर्वलोकेषु विश्रुतः तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति महौजसः

Named Ugra, of great brilliance, renowned in all worlds, there too my sons will be of great energy.

लम्बोदरश् च लम्बाक्षो लम्बकेशः प्रलम्बकः प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं रुद्रलोकं गता हि ते

Lambodara, Lambaksha, Lambakesha, and Pralambaka, having attained the Maheshvara yoga, have indeed gone to the world of Rudra.

द्वादशे परिवर्ते तु शततेजा यदा मुनिः भविष्यति महातेजा व्यासस्तु कविसत्तमः

In the twelfth cycle, when the sage Shatateja, of great brilliance, becomes Vyasa, the foremost among poets.

तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि कलाविह युगान्तिके हैतुकं वनमासाद्य अत्रिर्नाम्ना परिश्रुतः

Then too I shall appear, at the end of the age, in the forest called Haituka, known by the name Atri.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भस्मस्नानानुलेपनाः भविष्यन्ति महायोगा रुद्रलोकपरायणाः

There too, my sons will be smeared with ashes from their bath, great yogis devoted to the world of Rudra.

सर्वज्ञः समबुद्धिश् च साध्यः सर्वस्तथैव च प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं रुद्रलोकं गता हि ते

All-knowing, of equal mind, accomplished in every way, having attained the Maheshvara yoga, they have indeed gone to the world of Rudra.

त्रयोदशे पुनः प्राप्ते परिवर्ते क्रमेण तु धर्मो नारायणो नाम व्यासस्तु भविता यदा

When the thirteenth cycle arrives in order, and Vyasa named Dharma Narayana is to appear.

तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि वालिर्नाम महामुनिः वालखिल्याश्रमे पुण्ये पर्वते गन्धमादने

Then too I shall become the great sage named Vali, in the holy hermitage of the Valakhilyas, on Mount Gandhamadana.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति तपोधनाः सुधामा काश्यपश्चैव वासिष्ठो विरजास्तथा

There too, my sons will be rich in austerity: Sudhama, Kashyapa, Vasistha, and Viraja.

महायोगबलोपेता विमला ऊर्ध्वरेतसः प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं रुद्रलोकं गता हि ते

Endowed with the power of great yoga, pure, with their seed raised upward, having attained the Maheshvara yoga, they have indeed gone to the world of Rudra.

यदा व्यासस्तरक्षुस्तु पर्याये तु चतुर्दशे तत्रापि पुनरेवाहं भविष्यामि युगान्तिके

When Vyasa named Tarakshu appears in the fourteenth cycle, then too I shall appear again at the end of the age.

वंशे त्वङ्गिरसां श्रेष्ठे गौतमो नाम नामतः भविष्यति महापुण्यं गौतमं नाम तद्वनम्

In the most excellent lineage of the Angirasas, Gautama by name will arise; the forest named Gautama will be greatly auspicious.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति कलौ तदा अत्रिर्देवसदश्चैव श्रवणो ऽथ श्रविष्ठकः

There too, my sons will be born in the Kali age: Atri, Devasada, Shravan, and Shravisthaka.

योगात्मानो महात्मानः सर्वे योगसमन्विताः प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं रुद्रलोकाय ते गताः

All those great souls, whose essence is yoga and who are endowed with yoga, having attained the supreme yoga of Maheshvara, have gone to the world of Rudra.

ततः पञ्चदशे प्राप्ते परिवर्ते क्रमागते त्रैय्यारुणिर्यदा व्यासो द्वापरे समपद्यत

Then, when the fifteenth cycle arrives in its proper order, Vyasa, known as Traiyyāruni, appeared in the Dvapara age.

तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि नाम्ना वेदशिरा द्विजः तत्र वेदशिरो नाम अस्त्रं तत्पारमेश्वरम्

Even then, I shall be present, named Vedaśirā, a twice-born; there, the weapon called Vedaśira will be of supreme lordly power.

भविष्यति महावीर्यं वेदशीर्षश् च पर्वतः हिमवत्पृष्ठमासाद्य सरस्वत्यां नगोत्तमे

There will be a mountain of great might named Vedaśīrṣa, situated on the back of the Himalayas, in the excellent Sarasvati region.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति तपोधनाः कुणिश् च कुणिबाहुश् च कुशरीरः कुनेत्रकः

There also, my sons will be ascetics rich in austerity: Kuṇi, Kuṇibāhu, Kuśarīra, and Kunetraka.

योगात्मानो महात्मानः सर्वे ते ह्यूर्ध्वरेतसः प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं रुद्रलोकाय ते गताः

All those great souls, whose essence is yoga and who are of upward-flowing seed, having attained the supreme yoga of Maheshvara, have gone to the world of Rudra.

व्यासो युगे षोडशे तु यदा देवो भविष्यति तत्र योगप्रदानाय भक्तानां च यतात्मनाम्

When Vyasa appears in the sixteenth cycle as a divine being, he will grant yoga to the devoted and self-controlled.

तदाप्यहं भविष्यामि गोकर्णो नाम नामतः भविष्यति सुपुण्यं च गोकर्णं नाम तद्वनम्

Even then, I shall be present, named Gokarna; there will be a supremely holy forest called Gokarna.

तत्रापि मम ते पुत्रा भविष्यन्ति च योगिनः काश्यपो ह्युशनाश्चैव च्यवनो ऽथ बृहस्पतिः

There also, my sons will be yogis: Kashyapa, Ushanas, Cyavana, and Brihaspati.

ते ऽपि तेनैव मार्गेण ध्यानयोगसमन्विताः प्राप्य माहेश्वरं योगं गन्तारो रुद्रमेव हि

They too, following the same path, endowed with meditation and yoga, having attained the supreme yoga of Maheshvara, will go to Rudra indeed.
