With deepest reverence, salutations are offered to the radiant one, whose brilliance dispels all darkness, to the powerful and heroic, forever unconquered, the generous bestower of boons, the most excellent among beings, the supreme person, the great soul. Homage is paid to the eternal being, to the one who embodies the future, to the mighty and the great; salutations are offered to you as asceticism itself and as the giver of blessings. The worship continues, honoring the one who is both minute and immense, who pervades all existence. Salutations are given to you as bondage and liberation, as heaven and hell, embracing all conditions of existence. You are Bhava, the divine, the very sacrifice and the sacrificer; you are the one who rises up, who shines forth, who is the underlying principle, and who stands beyond all qualities. Salutations are offered to you as the noose and the weapon, as the ornament adorning the divine form; to you who are the offering, the invoked, the well-offered, and the receiver of oblations. You are the one who is worshipped and fulfilled, the twice-born of the Agnistoma sacrifice, the member of the sacred assembly, the recipient of sacrificial gifts, and the one purified by ablution. Homage is paid to you as non-violence, as freedom from greed, as the mantras that bless cattle and herbs; you are the giver of nourishment, the virtuous, the well-behaved. Salutations to you who are past, present, and future, always resplendent, powerful, heroic, and unconquered. Once again, salutations to the bestower of boons, the most excellent, the supreme person, the great soul; to the being, the future, the mighty and the fearless. Homage to you, Jarasiddha, the iron one, the generous giver; to the lowest and the greatest, the lord of the six. Salutations are offered to the lord of the senses, to the one who licks, to the one adorned with garlands; to the all-encompassing, the one of universal form, whose head is everywhere. Homage to the one whose hands and feet are everywhere, to Rudra, the incomparable, the oblation itself, the ancestral offering, and the carrier of the oblation. The worship continues for the accomplished, the pure, the desired, the one beyond sacrifice, the mighty hero, terribly fierce, unshakable, yet the one who shakes all. Salutations to the one of excellent offspring, of great wisdom, radiant like the sun; to the awakened, the pure, the expansive, and the wise. Homage is paid to the gross and the subtle, to the visible and the invisible in all things; to the one who brings rain, who blazes as fire, who is wind, and who is coolness. Salutations to you with curling hair, with mighty thighs and chest; repeated homage to the golden one, shining like heated gold. Salutations to the one with odd eyes, to the emblem, to the tawny one of great energy, the destroyer of rain, and the gentle-eyed. Homage to the smoky, the white, the black, and the red; to the fleshy, the tawny, the yellow, and the sword-bearer. Worship is offered to the one with distinctions and without distinctions; to the worshipped, the revered, and the support of all. Salutations to the secure, the aged, the affectionate; repeated homage to the being, the true, and the one who is both truth and untruth. Homage to the lotus-hued, the destroyer of death and death itself; to the fair, the dark, the tawny, and the red one. To the one of great twilight-cloud color, of beautiful radiance, the initiated; homage to the lotus-handed, the sky-clad, the matted-haired. Salutations to the immeasurable, the all, the imperishable, the immortal; to the form, the fragrance, the eternal, the unbroken. Homage to the vast one who existed before, to the wandering, the accomplished; to the difficult to reach, the great lord, the wrathful, the tawny. Salutations to the one whose body is both conceivable and inconceivable, the strong, the swift; to the sandy, the flowing, the stable, and the expansive. Worship is given to the wise, the potter, the one adorned with the crescent moon, the variegated, the one of wondrous attire, of many colors, the intelligent. Homage to the perceptive, the content, the hidden; to the patient, the restrained, and the one with adamantine jaws. Salutations to the destroyer of demons, the destroyer of poison, the blue-throated, the one of upraised wrath. Salutations to the licker, to Death itself, to the bearer of sharp weapons. Homage to the joyful, the delighting, the one to be known through sacrifice; to the disease-free, the all, the great Time. Salutations to the Lord of the sacred syllable and its sound, to the destroyer of Bhaga’s eye, to the hunter of the deer, to Daksha, and to the destroyer of Daksha’s sacrifice. To the one who is the soul of all beings, who surpasses all lords, to the destroyer of cities, the wielder of excellent weapons, the archer and bearer of the axe. Salutations to the destroyer of Pusha’s teeth, to the destroyer of Bhaga’s eye, to the fulfiller of desires, to the most excellent, to the burner of the body of Desire. On the stage, salutations to the one with a fierce face, to the one with the face of the lord of serpents, to the ender of demons, to the one who causes the cries of demons. Homage to the destroyer of snow, to the sharp one, to the wearer of moist hides, to the one who delights always in the cremation ground, to the bearer of a massive mouth. Salutations to the protector of life, the wearer of a garland of skulls, the one surrounded by beings freed from sorrow. Salutations to the one whose body is both man and woman, to the one who brings joy to the goddess, to the matted-haired, the skull-bearer, and the one who wears a serpent as sacred thread. Homage to the lover of dance, to the one who delights with dancers, to the passionate, to the lover of song, to the one praised by sages in song. Salutations to the rattling one, the sharp one, to both the unpleasant and the pleasant, to the terrifying, the formidable, the destroyer of Bhaga. To the one praised by hosts of perfected beings, to the greatly fortunate, to the one with a resounding, liberated laugh, to the one who snorts and cracks—homage is offered. Thus, with every aspect and quality named, with every form and formlessness embraced, the worshipper pours out this unbroken stream of praises, bowing again and again before the boundless, mysterious, and all-encompassing Lord.
