Hear now of the wondrous, many-faceted glory of the Lord, whose greatness is sung in the ancient lore. He is the supreme yogi, fit for yoga, the source of all seeds, accomplished and wise, the very origin of all that exists. He is the giver of fire, wealthy beyond measure, noble in mind and steadfast in truth, the remover of all sins, and the destroyer of evil. He is immortal and eternal, ever peaceful, and bears arrows with great power. He holds the water-pot and is an unmatched archer, the master and knower of the Vedas, a sage of supreme wisdom. Radiant in his brilliance, he is both food and its eater, the leader of the worlds, hard to subdue, beyond the grasp of the senses, of vast illusion, dwelling in all beings, and present at the fourfold path. He is the yogi who moves with time, the great sound, energetic and powerful, of immense intellect and heroism, moving among beings, and the destroyer of cities. He wanders by night and moves among spirits, of immense power and brilliance, his form indescribable, glorious and all-attracting, traversing an immeasurable course. Much spoken of and manifold, he is self-controlled, the very source of Bhava, bestower of vigor, splendor, and radiance, the dancer who fulfills all desires. He delights in dance, being both dancer and non-dancer, self-luminous and scorching, his words clear and wise, the very mantra and true honor, the ocean of all essence. He is the creator and revolver of the ages, profound and bull-bannered, desired and distinguished, honored by the noble, known as Sharabha and the bow itself. He is the treasure of waters and the foundation of all, ever victorious, knower of the time of victory, established and aware of all measures, golden-armored and tawny. Radiant and leader of the gods, he is the lord of knowledge and refuge of the wise, child-formed yet subduer of the strong, ever-revolving, unfathomable, and teacher of all. He is the instrument, the cause, the doer, liberator from all bonds, most learned and fearless, supporter of the universe, and maker of night. He is resolve and foundation, giver of place, origin of the world, the drum whose sound resounds, playful and all-pervading, whose very essence is Bhava, established firmly in his own self. Lord of heroes, he is Virabhadra, both slayer and supporter of heroes, the cosmic form, the crest-jewel among heroes, knower of all, one with intense sound, bearer of rivers. Bearer of commands, wielder of the trident, he pervades all and is the very abode of Shiva. He is Vālakhilya, the great bow, the blazing sun, and the imperishable treasure. Delightful and the excellent refuge, supremely learned, lord of nectar, Maghavan and Kauśika, possessor of cows, repose, and ruler of all. With an eye in his forehead and a cosmic body, he is the very essence, bearer of the wheel of existence, wielder of the unfailing staff, impartial, golden, and radiant with the splendor of Brahman. He is the supreme truth and strength, Shambara, tiger-eyed, fire, splendid and most excellent in radiance, worthy of praise, lord of speech and lord of day. He is the sun, the shining one, the support and teacher, son of Vivasvat, the very personification of skill, renowned, with passions calmed, the conqueror of defeat. Lord of Kailāsa, enemy of Kāma, Savitṛ, sun-eyed, foremost among the wise, fearless, destroyer of the universe, unrestrained. Eternal and ever-auspicious, whose fame is holy to hear, far-hearing, supporter of the universe, fit for meditation, destroyer of evil dreams. He is the deliverer, destroyer of evil deeds, unassailable, hard to endure, fearless, without beginning, earth itself, fortune of the worlds, crowned, and lord of the gods. Protector and sustainer of the universe, steadfast and adorned with beautiful armlets, creator and origin of beings, affectionate and just, the leader of all. Distinguished, descendant of Kaśyapa, radiant and formidable, of terrible valor, the sacred syllable, of sevenfold conduct, great-bodied, wielder of the great bow. He is lord of birth and great god, master of all scriptures, the very essence of discernment between truth and untruth, adorned and smeared with ashes. A sage victorious over Brahmins, beyond birth, death, and old age, he is sacrifice, lord and performer of sacrifice, the end of sacrifice, of unfailing valor. He is the great Indra, difficult to bear, leader of armies, embodiment and vehicle of sacrifice, origin of the five Brahmas, lord of all, pure in rising. Self-born, without beginning or end, supporter of the twenty-six and seven worlds, beloved of Gāyatrī, tall, abode of the universe, and source of light. He is the child, mountain-dweller, sovereign, well-armed, destroyer of a hundred gods, unfailing, destroyer of calamity, Mukunda, free from affliction. Self-luminous, source of light, light of the self, unwavering, tawny, with tawny beard, scripture as his eye, embodiment of the three Vedas. A mass of knowledge, greatly wise, without origin, upheaval, Bhaga, Vivasvat, Āditya, teacher of yoga, and Bṛhaspati. Of noble fame and industrious, ever united, composed of being and non-being, adorned with a garland of stars, lord of the full moon, established in his own place, and support of six. With pure hands, enemy of sin, possessing the maṇipūra center, swift as the mind, seated in the lotus of the heart, pure, peaceful, and bull-bannered. Viṣṇu, lord of the planets, dark-hued, capable, destroyer of misfortune, enemy of unrighteousness, invulnerable, invoked by many, and praised by men. He whose womb is Brahman, of vast womb, the cow of righteousness, source of wealth, seeker of the world's welfare, well-gone, the youth, and master of auspicious knowledge. Golden-hued and radiant, bearer of diverse beings, sound itself, free from disease, overseer of discipline, friend of the world, best among the twice-born. Of great brilliance, abode of nectar, supreme in radiance, the maternal grandfather, the wind-god, the sky-farer, and bearer of the serpent-garland. Pulastya, Pulaha, Agastya, Jātūkarṇya, Parāśara, knower of unobstructed dharma, the creator, and of far-reaching fame. Self-born, unrestrained, embodiment of Atri's knowledge, of great renown, the crest-jewel of the world, heroic, fierce, truthful, and of supreme valor. Serpent-like, of great cycles, the great tree, bearer of arts, ever-ornamenting, unmoving, shining, and of unsurpassed prowess. He is lord of swift sound, speedy and leaping, charioteer of the peacock, untouched, guest, Indra, destroyer, and remover of sin. Thus is the Lord, whose forms and names are endless, the refuge and support of all, the supreme being revered by gods and sages alike.
