May all the Siddhas, those perfected beings who dwell in and revere the abode of Śiva, remove the impurities that cling to me. Among them are the Yakṣas—Yakṣa, Yakṣeśa, Dhanada, Jṛmbhaka, and Maṇibhadraka—each a guardian and worshipper of the Lord. Alongside them stand Pūrṇabhadreśvara, Mālī, Śitikuṇḍali, Narendra, and the mighty Yakṣeśas, all invoked to purify my being. The great serpents, the Nāgas—Ananta, Kulika, Vāsuki, Takṣaka, Karkoṭaka, Mahāpadma, Śaṅkhapāla, and Mahābala—each adorned with the grace of Śiva, bearing his salutations and marks, are called upon to cleanse me of sin, whether it be the poison that moves or remains still. The Kinnaras, mystical beings who know the secrets of the Vīṇā and song, such as Vīṇā-knower, Kinnara, Surasena, Pramardana, Atiśaya, the practitioner, Gīta-knower, and all the Kinnaras, are invoked. May these, too, who are adorned with Śiva’s salutations, remove my impurities. The Vidyādharas—those who bear the treasury of knowledge, best among the learned, awakened, divine, prosperous, grateful, and renowned—are ever devoted to deep meditation upon Śiva. May their grace dispel all terrible impurity. By the blessings of Mahādeva, may Vāmadeva, Mahājambha, and the powerful Kālanemi remove my gravest impurities. Let Sugrīva, Mardaka, Piṅgala, Devamardana, Prahrāda, Anuhrāda, Saṃhrāda, and the two Bāṣkalas, together with Jambha, Kumbha the magician, Kārtavīrya, and Kṛtaṃjaya—these great-souled Asuras who are devoted to Mahādeva—dispel my dreadful fears and demonic tendencies. May Garutmān, Khagati, Pakṣirāṭ, Nāgamardana, Nāgaśatru, Hiraṇyāṅga, Vainateya, Prabhañjana, Nāgāśīr, Viṣanāśa, and Viṣṇu’s own vehicle, the Garuḍas shining with a golden hue and adorned with many ornaments, bearers of Lord Viṣṇu, remove all impurity from me. Let the sages—Agastya, Vasiṣṭha, Aṅgirā, Bhṛgu, Kāśyapa, Nārada, Dadhīca, Cyavana, Upamanyu, and their peers—who are filled with devotion to Śiva and ever engaged in his worship, dispel my impurity. May the ancestors—fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, the Agniṣvāttas, Barhiṣads, and maternal ancestors—who are devoted to meditation on Śiva, protect me from sinful fear. May the goddesses—Lakṣmī, Dharaṇī, Gāyatrī, Sarasvatī, Durgā, Uṣā, Śacī, Jyeṣṭhā, the mothers worshipped by the gods, and all the mothers of gods and hosts, as well as all the mothers of beings wherever they reside—by the grace of the God of gods, dispel my impurity. Let the celestial Apsarases—Urvaśī, Menakā, Rambhā, Rati, Tilottamā, Sumukhī, Durmukhī, Kāmukī, Kāmavardhanī, and the countless other divine dancers in every world, ever performing the Tāṇḍava for Śiva—remove my impurity through their devotion. May the planets and their deities—Arka, Soma, Aṅgāraka, Budha, Bṛhaspati, Śukra, Śanaiścara, Rāhu, and Ketu—who are all worshippers of Śiva, remove dreadful fear and the afflictions that come from the planets. The twelve zodiac signs—Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces—each devoted to Śiva’s worship, are invoked to protect and purify. By the Supreme Lord’s grace, may the lunar mansions—Ashvini, Bharani, Krittika, Rohini, Mrigashira, Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha, Jyeshtha, Mula, Purvashadha, Uttara Ashadha, Shravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhishak, Purva Bhadrapada, and Proshthapada—remove fear and sin from my path. Let the goddesses of Pausha, fever, Kumbhodara, Shankukarṇa, Mahabala, Mahakarna, Prabhata, Shyenajit, Shiva’s messenger, the Pramathas, and those who bring joy, together with the mothers of beings in their hundreds of millions, ever remove fear and sin by Mahādeva’s grace. May all these be endowed with meditation upon Śiva, resembling the king of mountains and water, their forms like jasmine and the moon, adorned with jasmine, a pitcher, and the crescent moon. May the one who is the enemy of the submarine fire, the tamer of the submarine mare, supported by four legs and white as the ocean of milk, always established in the world of Rudra, together with the Rudras, leaders of hosts, the bull-lord, supporter of the universe, god, and father of the world—may he remove my sin. Ever surrounded by Nandi and the Mothers, destroyer of sacrifices, ever devoted to Śiva’s worship, may he remove my sin. May Ganga, the mother of the world, established in Rudra’s realm, and Nanda, devoted to Śiva, remove my sin. May Bhadra, the goddess Bhadrapada, established in Śiva’s realm, the greatly fortunate mother of cows, and Surabhi, ever auspicious and a destroyer of all sins, always devoted to Rudra, remove my sin. May she whose conduct is virtuous, who is endowed with good qualities, who bestows prosperity, and who is always established in Śiva’s realm, remove my sin, now and forever.
