वर्षकोटिशतं साग्रं रुद्रलोके महीयते
For a hundred million years, one is honored in the realm of Rudra.
पवित्रं शिरसा वन्द्य सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते
The sacred place is to be revered with the head, and one is freed from all sins.
अहोरात्रोपवासेन मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया
By fasting for a day and night, one is released from the sin of killing a Brahmin.
तत्र गत्वा नियमवान् सर्वकामांल्लभेन्नरः
Having gone there with discipline, a man attains all desires.
अश्वमेधाद् दशगुणं पुण्यमाप्नोति मानवः
A person obtains merit ten times greater than that of an Ashvamedha sacrifice.
नानाद्रुमलताकीर्णो नानापुष्पोपशोभितः
It is adorned with various trees and creepers, and beautified by diverse flowers.
ब्रह्मा विष्णुस्तथा चेन्द्रो विद्याधरगणैः सह
Brahma, Vishnu, and Indra, together with hosts of Vidyadharas, are present there.
पौण्डरीकस्य यज्ञस्य फलं प्राप्नोति मानः
A person attains the fruit of the Paundarika sacrifice.
संगमे नर्मदायास्तु रुद्रलोके महीयते
At the confluence of the Narmada, one is honored in the realm of Rudra.
मुनिभिः कथिता पूर्वमीश्वरेण स्वयंभुवा
These were previously spoken by sages and by the self-born Lord.
रुद्रगात्राद् विनिष्क्रान्ता लोकानां हितकाम्यया
They emerged from Rudra's body, desiring the welfare of the worlds.
संस्तुता देवगन्धर्वैरप्यरोभिस्तथैव च
They are praised by gods, Gandharvas, and likewise by Apsaras.
तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन् दैवतैः सह मोहते
There, O king, having bathed, a man mingles with the gods.
तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन् गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
There, O king, having bathed, a man obtains the fruit of a thousand cows.
सर्वपापविशुद्धात्मा रुद्रलोके महीयते
With a soul purified from all sins, one is honored in the realm of Rudra.
तत्र स्नात्वोदकं कृत्वा सर्वान् कामानवाप्नुयात्
There, having bathed and performed water offerings, one attains all desires.
तत्र स्नात्वा महाराज रुद्रलोके महीयते
There, O great king, having bathed, one is honored in the realm of Rudra.
तत्र प्राणान् परित्यज्य रुद्रलोकमवाप्नुयात्
There, having abandoned one's life, one attains the realm of Rudra.
स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र इन्द्रस्यार्धासनं लभेत्
A man who bathes there at once attains half the seat of Indra.
तत्र स्नात्वार्चयेद् देवं गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
Having bathed there and worshipped the deity, he obtains the fruit of a thousand cows.
तत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन् सिहासनपतिर्भवेत्
Having bathed there, O King, a man becomes lord of the lion-throne.
उपोष्य रजनीमेकां स्नानं कृत्वा यथाविधि
By fasting for one night and then bathing according to the proper rite,
गोसहस्रफलं प्राप्य विष्णुलोकं स गच्छति
He attains the fruit of a thousand cows and goes to the world of Vishnu.
स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र शिवलोके महीयते
A man who bathes there at once is honored in the world of Shiva.
स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्
A man who bathes there at once obtains the fruit of a thousand cows.
प्रतीस्तस्य ददौ योगं देवदेवो महेश्वरः
To him who has arrived there, the great god Maheśvara grants union (yoga).
यत्र स्नात्वा नरो राजन् ब्रह्मलोके महीयते
Where, having bathed, O King, a man is honored in the world of Brahma.
महेश्वरं ततो गच्छेत् पर्याप्तं जन्मनः फलम्
Then he goes to Maheśvara, having attained the full fruit of birth.
स्नातमात्रो नरस्तत्र सर्वदुःखैः प्रमुच्यते
A man who bathes there at once is freed from all sufferings.
अहोरात्रोपवासेन त्रिरात्रफलमाप्नुयात्
By fasting for a day and night, one obtains the fruit of a three-night fast.
