तस्मिन् दिवि स्थितं नित्यमव्यक्तं भाति केवलम्
In that heaven, the unmanifest, eternal, and solitary, shines.
एकया मम सायुज्यमनादिनिधनं ध्रुवम्
By union with me alone, one attains the eternal, beginningless, and endless state.
अनादिमध्यं तिष्ठन्तं युज्यते ऽविद्यया किल
Abiding without beginning or middle, it is indeed joined by ignorance.
तदक्षरं परं ज्योतिस्तद् विष्णोः परमं पदम्
That imperishable, supreme light is the highest abode of Vishnu.
तदेव च जगत् कृत्स्नं तद् विज्ञाय विमुच्यते
That alone is the entire world; knowing that, one is liberated.
आनन्दं ब्रह्मणो विद्वान् विभेति न कुतश्चन
Knowing the bliss of Brahman, the wise man fears nothing at all.
नित्यानन्दी भवति ब्रह्मभूतः
One who has become identified with Brahman is perpetually joyful.
आत्मानन्दी भवति ब्रह्मभूतः
One who has become identified with Brahman delights in the Self.
यत्र गत्वा न निवर्तेत भूयः
Having gone there, one does not return again.
विभ्राजमानं विमलं व्योम धाम
That radiant, pure, and sky-like abode—
ब्रह्मानन्दी भगवानीश एषः
He, the Lord, is Brahman, the enjoyer of supreme bliss.
तेषां शान्तिः शाश्वती नेतरेषाम्
For them alone is eternal peace, not for others.
सर्वव्यापी च भगवान् न तस्मादन्यदिष्यते
The Lord is all-pervading; nothing else is desired apart from Him.
गोपनीयं विशेषेण योगिनामपि दुर्लभम्
This must be especially kept secret; it is difficult to attain even for yogis.
स्वयञ्ज्योतिः परं तत्त्वं परे व्योम्नि व्यवस्थितम्
The supreme reality, self-luminous, is established in the highest sky.
निर्गुणं शुद्धविज्ञानं तद् वै पश्यन्ति सूरयः
That is without qualities, pure consciousness; the wise behold it.
पश्यन्ति तत् परं ब्रह्म यत्तल्लिङ्गमिति श्रुतिः
They see that supreme Brahman, which is the mark—so declares the scripture.
नहि तद् विद्यते ज्ञानं यतस्तज्ज्ञायते परम्
There is no knowledge of That, for That is the knower of all.
अज्ञानमितरत् सर्वं यस्मान्मायामयं जगत्
All else is ignorance, for the world is made of illusion.
ममात्मासौ तदेवेमिति प्राहुर्विपश्चितः
The wise declare, 'That indeed is my Self.'
आश्रिताः परमां निष्ठां बुद्ध्वैकं तत्त्वमव्ययम्
Having realized the one imperishable reality, they have attained the highest state.
भक्त्या मां संप्रपश्यन्ति विज्ञेयास्ते तदात्मकाः
Through devotion, they truly see Me; they are to be known as of My own essence.
नित्यानन्दं निर्विकल्पं सत्यरूपमिति स्थितिः
The state is eternal bliss, without difference, and of the nature of truth.
स्वात्मन्यवस्थिताः शान्ताः परे ऽव्यक्ते परस्य तु
Established in their own Self, peaceful, in the supreme unmanifest of the Supreme.
निर्वाणं ब्रह्मणा चैक्यं कैवल्यं कवयो विदुः
The wise know nirvāṇa, unity with Brahman, and absolute aloneness (kaivalya) to be one and the same.
स ईश्वरो महादेवस्तं विज्ञाय विमुच्यते
He is the Lord, the great god; knowing him, one is liberated.
तन्नित्यभासमचलं सद्विभाति
That which eternally shines, unmoving, truly appears.
पश्यन्ति तत्त्वमचलं यत् स ईशः
They behold the unmoving reality, which is that Lord.
धायायन्ति वेदार्थविनिश्चितार्थाः
Those who have ascertained the meaning of the Vedas meditate upon it.
विभाति देवः शिव एव केवलः
It is the god Śiva alone who shines forth.
