स्कन्दो ऽसौ वर्तते नित्यं स्वयंभूर्विधिचोदितः
That Skanda always acts, self-born, impelled by the ordinance.
सृजन्ति विविधं लोकं परस्यैव नियोगतः
They create the various worlds only by the command of the Supreme.
पत्नी नारायणस्यासौ वर्तते मदनुग्रहात्
She who is Nārāyaṇa’s consort exists by my favor.
सापीश्वरनियोगेन चोदिता संप्रवर्तते
She too, prompted by the Lord’s command, proceeds to act.
सावित्री संस्मृता देवी देवाज्ञानुविधायिनी
The goddess Sāvitrī, remembered thus, follows the command of the god.
यापि ध्याता विशेषेण सापि मद्वचनानुगा
She who is especially meditated upon also follows my word.
दधाति शिरसा लोकं सो ऽपि देवनियोगतः
He who upholds the world upon his head does so by the command of the god.
पिबत्यखिलमम्भोधिमीश्वरस्य नियोगतः
He drinks the entire ocean by the command of the Lord.
पालयन्ति प्रजाः सर्वास्ते ऽपि तस्य नियोगतः
All of them protect all beings by his command.
अन्याश्च देवताः सर्वा मच्छास्त्रेणैव धिष्ठिताः
And all other deities are established only by my ordinance.
यक्षरक्षः पिशाचाश्च स्थिताः शास्त्रे स्वयंभुवः
Yakṣas, Rākṣasas, and Piśācas are established in the ordinance of the self-born.
ऋतवः पक्षमासाश्च स्थिताः शास्त्रे प्रजापतेः
The seasons, fortnights, and months are established in the ordinance of the progenitor.
पराश्चैव परार्धाश्च कालभेदास्तथा परे
And the supreme and the supreme portions, as well as the divisions of time, are likewise beyond.
नियोगादेव वर्तन्ते देवस्य परमात्मनः
They all exist only by the command of the Supreme Soul.
ब्रह्माण्डानि च वर्तन्ते सर्वाण्येव स्वयंभुवः
All the cosmic eggs exist, indeed, by the self-born one.
प्रवृत्तानि पदार्थौघैः सहितानि समन्ततः
They have arisen, accompanied on all sides by multitudes of elements.
वहिष्यन्ति सदैवाज्ञां परस्य परमात्मनः
They always carry out the command of the Supreme Self.
भूतादिरादिप्रकृतिर्नियोगे मम वर्तते
The primal nature, the origin of beings, operates under my direction.
माया विवर्तते नित्यं सापीश्वरनियोगतः
Māyā constantly transforms, and she too acts by the command of the Lord.
आत्मासौ वर्तते नित्यमीश्वरस्य नियोगतः
This Self always exists by the direction of the Lord.
सापि विद्या महेशस्य नियोगवशवर्तिनी
That knowledge, too, is under the control of Maheśa’s command.
मयैव प्रेर्यते कृत्स्नं मय्येव प्रलयं व्रजेत्
By me alone is all this set in motion, and into me alone does it dissolve.
परमात्मा परं ब्रह्म मत्तो ह्यन्यन्न विद्यते
The Supreme Self, the Supreme Brahman—other than me, nothing is known.
ज्ञात्वा विमुच्यते जन्तुर्जन्मसंसारबन्धनात्
Knowing this, a being is freed from the bondage of birth and worldly existence.
यं ज्ञात्वा पुरुषो मुक्तो न संसारे पतेत् पुनः
Knowing whom, a person is liberated and does not fall again into worldly existence.
नित्यानन्दं निर्विकल्पं तद्धाम परमं मम
That is my supreme abode: eternal, blissful, and without distinction.
मायाविनामहं देवः पुराणो हरिरव्ययः
I am that ancient, imperishable Lord, Hari, the wielder of māyā.
आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्वसूनामस्मि पावकः
Among the Ādityas, I am Viṣṇu; among the Vasus, I am Pāvaka.
ऐरावतो गजेन्द्राणां रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम्
Among lordly elephants, I am Airāvata; among wielders of weapons, I am Rāma.
शिल्पिनां विश्वकर्माहं प्रह्लादो ऽस्म्यमरद्विषाम्
Among artisans, I am Viśvakarman; among the foes of the immortals, I am Prahlāda.
