Just as with the covering of a red cloth and the like, so too is the Supreme Person.
He is to be worshipped, reflected upon, and heard about by those seeking liberation.
For yogis, without obstruction, at that time he is realized directly.
Then, the self in all beings becomes Brahman.
United with the Supreme, he then becomes alone—pure and singular.
Then, having become immortal, the wise one attains peace.
From that alone, Brahman expands at that time.
Then, the entire world is known as mere illusion, and he becomes content.
Then, only the knowledge of Brahman arises; he is then auspicious.
In the same way, he attains unity with the imperishable self, which is without parts.
The world is covered by ignorance; because of that, knowledge is confused.
All else is ignorance; knowledge alone, in my view, is real.
Indeed, yoga is the essence of all Vedanta, for it is the state of single-pointed mind.
For one engaged in the knowledge of yoga, there is nothing unattainable anywhere.
He who sees Sāṃkhya and Yoga as one is a knower of the truth.
They sink here and there, but not the Self—so declares the scripture.
But one devoted to knowledge and yoga attains That at the end of the body.
The all-pervading Self, facing all directions, is proclaimed in all the Vedas.
I am the Inner Ruler, eternal, with hands and feet everywhere.
Though without eyes, I see; though without ears, I hear.
Those who see the truth call me the one great Person.
That supreme power belongs to me, whose form is pure, stainless, and without qualities.
I shall declare it; be attentive, O knowers of Brahman, and listen with concentrated minds.
Yet I set this in motion; the wise know this as the cause.
Yogis who have entered into union with me attain the imperishable.
They attain supreme purity and liberation together with me.
By my grace, O lords of yoga, this is the teaching of the Veda.
This knowledge I have spoken, grounded in Sāṃkhya and Yoga.
From them all this has arisen; therefore, the world is pervaded by Brahman.
In the world, it abides everywhere, pervading all, as heard in the scriptures.
