दशवर्षसहस्त्राणि जीवन्तीक्षुरसाशिनः
Those who consume the juice of the īkṣu (sugarcane) live for ten thousand years.
उपासते सदा विष्णुं मानवा विष्णुभाविताः
The people, devoted to Viṣṇu, always worship Viṣṇu.
विमानं वासुदेवस्य पारिजातवनाश्रितम्
There is a celestial palace of Vāsudeva, situated in the Pārijāta grove.
प्राकारैर्दशभिर्युक्तं दुराधर्षं सुदुर्गमम्
It is fortified with ten walls, unassailable and extremely difficult to approach.
स्वर्णस्तम्भसहस्त्रैश्च सर्वतः समलङ्कृतम्
It is adorned on all sides with thousands of golden pillars.
दिव्यसिंहासनोपेतं सर्वशोभासमन्वितम्
It is furnished with a divine throne and endowed with every kind of splendor.
नारायणपरैः शुद्धैर्वेदाध्ययनतत्परैः
It is filled with pure devotees of Nārāyaṇa, intent on studying the Vedas.
स्तुवद्भिः सततं मन्त्रैर्नमस्यद्भिश्च माधवम्
They continually praise Mādhava with mantras and bow down to him.
राजानः सर्वकालं तु महिमानं प्रकुर्वते
The kings at all times perform acts of greatness.
स्त्रियो यौवनशालिन्यः सदा मण्डनतत्पराः
The women, endowed with youth, are always intent on adorning themselves.
त्रयोदश सहस्त्राणि वर्षाणां वै स्थिरायुषः
Their stable lifespan is thirteen thousand years.
परमायुः स्मृतं तेषां शतं वर्षाणि सुव्रताः
For them, the highest lifespan is said to be one hundred thousand years, O virtuous ones.
कर्मभूमिरियं विप्रा नराणामधिकारिणाम्
This is the land of action, O brāhmaṇas, for those humans who are qualified.
विन्ध्यश्च पारियात्रश्च सप्तात्र कुलपर्वताः
Here, the Vindhya and Pāriyātra are two of the seven principal mountains.
नागद्वीपस्तथा सौम्यो गन्धर्वस्त्वथ वारुणः
There is also the Nāga island, gentle one, as well as Gandharva and Vāruṇa.
योजनानां सहस्त्रं तु द्वीपो ऽयं दक्षिणोत्तरः
This island extends a thousand yojanas from south to north.
ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया वैश्य मध्ये शूद्रास्तथैव च
In the middle dwell Brāhmaṇas, Kṣatriyas, Vaiśyas, and likewise Śūdras.
स्त्रवन्ते पावना नद्यः पर्वतेभ्यो विनिः सृताः
Pure rivers flow forth, issuing from the mountains.
इरावती वितस्ता च विपाशा देविका कुहूः
Irāvatī, Vitastā, Vipāśā, Devikā, and Kuhū,
कौशिकी लोहिता चैव हिमवत्पादनिः सृताः
Kauśikī and Lohitā also, arising from the foot of Himavat,
पर्णाशा वन्दना चैव सदानीरा मनोरमा
Parṇāśā and Vandanā, and also the ever-flowing, delightful Sadānīrā,
शिग्रुः स्वशिल्पापि तथा पारियात्राश्रयाः स्मृताः
Śigru and Svaśilpā as well, are remembered as resting on the Pāriyātra mountains.
मन्दाकिनी चित्रकूटा तामसी च पिशाचिका
Mandākinī, Citrakūṭā, Tāmasī, and Piśācikā,
ऋक्षवत्पादजा नद्यः सर्वपापहरा नृणाम्
The rivers born at the foot of Ṛkṣavat remove all sins of men.
वेण्या वैतरणी चैव बलाका च कुमुद्वती
Veṇyā, Vaitaraṇī, Balākā, and Kumudvatī,
विन्ध्यपादप्रसूतास्ता नद्यः पुण्यजलाः शुभाः
These auspicious rivers of holy waters arise from the foot of the Vindhya mountains.
दक्षिणापथगा नद्यः सह्यपादविनिः सृताः
The rivers of the southern region flow forth from the foot of the Sahya mountains.
मलयान्निः सृता नद्यः सर्वाः शीतजलाः स्मृताः
All the rivers issuing from Malaya are known to have cool waters.
शुक्तिमत्पादसंजाताः सर्वपापहरा नृणाम्
Those born at the foot of Śuktimat remove all sins of men.
सर्वपापहराः पुण्याः स्नानदानादिकर्मसु
All these rivers are holy and remove all sins, especially through bathing, giving, and other rites.
