नागयज्ञोपवीताय नमस्ते वह्निरेतसे
Salutations to you, who wear a serpent as sacred thread, who are the source of fire.
नमो मुक्ताट्टहासाय भीमाय च नमो नमः
Salutations to you, who laugh with a resounding roar, and to the terrible one, again and again.
नमो भैरववेषाय हराय च निषङ्गिणे
Salutations to you, who are dressed as Bhairava, to Hara, the bearer of the sword.
नमो ऽम्बिकाधिपतये पशूनां पतये नमः
Salutations to the Lord of Ambika, to the Lord of all creatures.
नरनारीशरीराय सांख्ययोगप्रवर्तिने
To the one whose form is both man and woman, who sets in motion Sāṃkhya and Yoga,
कुमारगुरवे तुभ्यं देवदेवाय ते नमः
To you, the teacher of Kumāra, the God of gods, salutations.
मृगव्याधाय महते ब्रह्माधिपतये नमः
Salutations to the great hunter, to the Lord of Brahmā.
योगिने योगगम्याय योगमायाय ते नमः
Salutations to the yogi, who is attainable through yoga, who is the very essence of yoga's power.
कपालिने नमस्तुभ्यं ज्योतिषां पतये नमः
Salutations to you, the skull-bearer, the Lord of the luminaries.
मह्यं सर्वात्मना कामान् प्रयच्छ परमेश्वर
O Supreme Lord, grant me all desires with your entire being.
पपात पादयोर्विप्रा देवदेव्योः स दण्डवत्
He fell at the feet of the divine couple, bowing down like a staff.
बभाषे मधुरं वाक्यं मेघगम्भीरनिः स्वनः
He spoke sweet words, his voice deep as thunder.
त्वमेव दाता सर्वेषां कामानां कामिनामिह
You alone are the giver of all desires here for those who seek them.
नानवाप्तं त्वया तात विद्यते पुरुषोत्तम
O best of men, there is nothing unattained by you.
महादेवं महायोगं स्वेन योगेन केशव
O Keśava, the great god, the supreme yogi, by his own yoga—
उवाच वीक्ष्य विश्वेशं देवीं च हिमशैलजाम्
Having seen the Lord of the Universe and the goddess, daughter of the snowy mountain—
इच्छाम्यात्मसमं पुत्रं त्वद्भक्तं देहि शङ्कर
I desire a son equal to myself, devoted to you; grant this, O Śaṅkara.
देवीमालोक्य गिरिजां केशवं परिषस्वजे
Having beheld the goddess Girijā, Keśava embraced her.
व्याजहार हृषीकेशं देवी हिमगिरीन्द्रजा
The goddess, daughter of the king of mountains, addressed Hṛṣīkeśa.
अनन्यामीश्वरे भक्तिमात्मन्यपि च केशव
Unwavering devotion to the Lord, and likewise in oneself, O Keśava—
प्रार्थितो दैवतैः पूर्वं संजातो दैवकीसुतः
Previously prayed for by the gods, the son of Devakī was born.
नावयोर्विद्यते भेद एवं पश्यन्ति सूरयः
There is no difference between us; thus do the sages perceive.
ईश्वरे निश्चलां भक्तिमात्मन्यपि परं बलम्
Steadfast devotion to the Lord, and supreme strength in oneself—
आशिषं शिरसाहृङ्णाद् देवो ऽप्याह महेश्वरः
With bowed head, the god Maheśvara also uttered a blessing.
र् जगाम कैलासगिरिं गिरीशः
The Lord of Mountains went to Mount Kailāsa.
रराम भगवान् सोमः केशवेन महेश्वरः
The blessed Soma, Maheśvara, rejoiced with Keśava.
पूजयाञ्चक्रिरे कृष्णं देवदेवमथाच्युतम्
Then they worshipped Kṛṣṇa, the god of gods, the infallible one.
किरीटिनं शार्ङ्गपाणि श्रीवत्साङ्कितवक्षसम्
He who wears a crown, who holds the Śārṅga bow, whose chest is marked by the Śrīvatsa—
दधानमुरसा मालां वैजयन्तीमनुत्तमाम्
Bearing upon his chest the unrivaled garland Vaijayantī—
पद्माङ्घ्रिनयनं चारु सुस्मितं सुगतिप्रदम्
With lotus-like feet and eyes, charming, with a gentle smile, bestower of good fortune—
