The Infinite Self, in accordance with the sacred injunctions of the Veda, is the one who ordains all that is. By the greatness of this God of gods, the entire world is set in motion. Yet, it is only through supreme devotion that human beings can truly come to know Him. The world at large does not recognize Me—the eternal witness of all things—nor do even the great sages fully comprehend My nature. I am the Self, the creator, the ordainer, Time itself, and Fire, facing in all directions. The mighty ones—Brahmā, the Manus, Indra, and others renowned for their power—arise from Me. The Brāhmaṇas worship Fire with various Vedic sacrifices, and the yogis meditate upon the Lord, the ruler of all beings, the Supreme Lord. Having become the very body of all the gods, the Self of all, I abide in all things. To those who worship Me with devotion, I am ever near. To them, I grant that supreme place of bliss—the highest state. Those devoted souls, united with Me in Time, are liberated. It has been declared since the beginning: My devotee does not perish. Whoever worships Him with devotion is, in truth, always worshipping Me. The one who offers to Me with discipline is regarded by Me as a dear devotee. Having established and given forth all the Vedas, which arise from My very Self, I am the protector of the righteous and the destroyer of those who hate the Veda. Though I am the very cause of worldly existence, I remain untouched by it all. I wield the power of illusion—Māyā—My unique force that deludes the worlds. Yet, abiding in the hearts of yogis, I destroy illusion by that very Māyā. I am the foundation of all things and the repository of immortality. Assuming the form of Brahmā, composed of My own essence and established within Me, I become Nārāyaṇa—the infinite, the Lord of the universe, pervading all creation. My tamasic power is known as Kāla, taking the form of Rudra. Some attain Me through the yoga of devotion, others through the yoga of action. But those who constantly worship Me with knowledge, and in no other way, surely attain Me and do not return again to the cycle of birth and death. The universe abides in Me alone; by Me, the world is set in motion. I impel this entire world, and whoever knows this becomes immortal. Time itself acts as the Blessed Lord, the great master of yoga, manifest in person. That Lord is the master of yoga, the great god, the mighty sovereign. The Blessed Lord Brahmā is proclaimed as great, composed of Brahman, and pure. He is united through unwavering yoga—of this, there is no doubt. The yogi who always abides in Me—he alone is truly a knower. With a serene mind, one should give to a righteous person who maintains the sacred fire. In the spotless sky, He danced, revealing the supreme divine state. Mahadeva was seen dancing in the pure heavens by Vishnu. Indeed, they beheld that Lord of all beings in the sky. The sages, too, witnessed the Lord of the universe dancing in His glory. At last, they saw that Lord of beings as He ceased His dance.
