यदा च संक्रमेद्वायुरर्धार्धप्रहरे स्थितः । स्वास्थ्याहानिस्तदा ज्ञेया वायुर्भ्रमति देहिषु ॥ १,२००.

One should tie sesame, vacha, and hing around the necks of horses; two types of wounds are described: those caused by external agents and those caused by internal imbalances.
चिरपाकं वातजन्तु श्लेष्मजं क्षिप्रपाककम्? । कण्ठदाहात्मकं पित्ताच्छोणितान्मन्दवेदनम् ॥ १,२०१.
Wounds caused by wind take a long time to heal, those caused by phlegm heal quickly; those caused by bile are characterized by burning in the throat and dull pain from blood.
आगन्तुजन्तु शस्त्राद्यैर्दुष्टव्रणविशोधनम् । एरण्डमूलं द्विनिशं चित्रकं विश्वभेषजम् ॥ १,२०१.

On the first day, two palas are given, increasing by one pala each day, until eighteen palas are reached on the final day.
अधमेऽष्टपलानि स्युर्मध्यमे स्युश्चतुर्दश । शरन्निदाघयोर्नैवदेयं नैव तु दापयेत् ॥ १,२०१.
In the lowest case, eight palas are given; in the middle, fourteen; this should not be given in autumn or summer.
तैलेन वातिके रोगे शर्कराज्यपयोन्वितैः । कटुतैलैः कफे व्योषैः पित्ते चत्रिफलाम्बुभिः ॥ १,२०१.
For wind disorders, oil is used with sugar, clarified butter, and milk; for phlegm, pungent oils with spices; for bile, water of triphala.
शालिषष्टिकदुग्धाशी हयो हिन जुगुप्सितः । पक्वजम्बूनिभो हेमवर्णोऽश्वो न जुगुप्सितः ॥ १,२०१.
A horse that eats rice, shashtika, and milk is considered inferior and to be avoided; a horse resembling ripe jambū fruit and golden in color is not to be avoided.
अर्धप्रहरणे धुर्ये गुग्गुलुं प्राशयेद्धयम् । भोजयेत्पायसं दुग्धं सत्वरं सुस्थिरो हयः ॥ १,२०१.
At half a prahara, one should give guggul to the horse in harness; feed it rice pudding with milk quickly for a stable horse.
विकारे भोजने दुग्धं शाल्यन्नं वातले ददेत् । कर्षमांसरसैः पित्ते मधुमुद्गरसाज्यकैः ॥ १,२०१.
In disorders, feed milk and rice to the horse with wind disorders; for bile, use meat juice, honey, mudga, and clarified butter.
कफे मुद्गान्कुलत्थान्वा कटुतिक्तान्कफे हये । बाधिर्ये व्याधिते ग्रासे त्रिदोषादौ तु गुग्गुलुः ॥ १,२०१.
For phlegm, give mudga and kulattha, or bitter and pungent foods; in deafness or disease, guggul is used for disorders caused by all three humors.
घासैर्दूर्वा सर्वरोगे प्रथमेऽह्नि पलं ददेत् । विवर्धयेत्ततः कर्षमेकाह्नि पलपञ्चकम् ॥ १,२०१.
For all diseases, on the first day, one should give a pala of dūrvā grass; then, on the next day, increase to a karṣa, and on the following day, five palas.
पाने च भोजने चैव अशीतिपलकं परम् । मध्ये षष्टिश्चाधमेषु चत्वारिंशच्च भोगिषु ॥ १,२०१.
In drinking and eating, the highest amount is eighty palas; for those in the middle, sixty; for the lowest, forty palas.
व्रणे कुष्ठेषु खञ्जेषु त्रिफलाक्वाथसंयुतम् । मन्दाग्नौ शोथरोगे च गवां मूत्रेण योजितम् ॥ १,२०१.
For wounds, leprosy, and lameness, it should be given mixed with a decoction of triphalā; for weak digestion and swelling diseases, it should be administered with cow's urine.
वातपित्ते व्रणे व्याधौ गोक्षीरं घृतसंयुतम् । देयं कृशानां पुष्ट्यर्थं मांसैर्युक्तं च भोजनम् ॥ १,२०१.
In cases of vāta, pitta, wounds, and disease, cow's milk mixed with ghee should be given; for the emaciated, food mixed with meat should be provided for nourishment.
