गजस्थाने गजं दृष्ट्वा क्षेत्रधान्यसुखादिकम् । गजस्थानेस्थिते ध्वाङ्क्षे धनधान्यसमागमः ॥ १,१९९.
If an elephant is seen at the place of the elephant, there will be prosperity in fields, grain, comfort, and the like; if a crow is present at the elephant's place, there will be an abundance of wealth and grain.
ध्वाङ्क्षस्थाने ध्वजं दृष्ट्वा कार्यनाशो भविष्यति । ध्वाङ्क्षस्थाने स्थिते धूम्रे कलिदुः खं गमिष्यति ॥ १,१९९.
If a flag is seen at the place of the crow, there will be destruction of undertakings; if a smoky-colored one is present at the crow's place, suffering and calamity will arise.
ध्वाङ्क्षस्थाने स्थिते सिंहे विग्रहो दुः खमेव च । ध्वाङ्क्षस्थाने स्थिते श्वाने गृहभङ्गभयादिकम् ॥ १,१९९.

Mahendra (Indra) is situated in the middle; in the bright fortnight, he is on the left, in the dark fortnight, on the right, and the rising lasts for three days.
वहेत्प्रतिपदाद्ये च विपरीते भवेन्नतिः । उदयः सूर्यमार्गेण चन्द्रेणास्तमयो यदि ॥ १,२००.
From the first lunar day onward, if the order is reversed, there will be decline; if the rising is along the sun's path and the moon sets, then—
वर्धन्ते गुणसंघाता अन्यथा विघ्नमौचितम् । संक्रान्त्यः षोडशप्रोक्ता दिवा रात्रौ वरानने ॥ १,२००.
Qualities increase in such a conjunction; otherwise, obstacles are appropriate. Sixteen transitions are described, O beautiful-faced one, by day and by night.
यदा च संक्रमेद्वायुरर्धार्धप्रहरे स्थितः । स्वास्थ्याहानिस्तदा ज्ञेया वायुर्भ्रमति देहिषु ॥ १,२००.

One should tie sesame, vacha, and hing around the necks of horses; two types of wounds are described: those caused by external agents and those caused by internal imbalances.
चिरपाकं वातजन्तु श्लेष्मजं क्षिप्रपाककम्? । कण्ठदाहात्मकं पित्ताच्छोणितान्मन्दवेदनम् ॥ १,२०१.
Wounds caused by wind take a long time to heal, those caused by phlegm heal quickly; those caused by bile are characterized by burning in the throat and dull pain from blood.
आगन्तुजन्तु शस्त्राद्यैर्दुष्टव्रणविशोधनम् । एरण्डमूलं द्विनिशं चित्रकं विश्वभेषजम् ॥ १,२०१.
For wounds caused by external agents such as weapons, the cleansing of infected wounds is done with castor root, citraka, and universal medicines, applied twice daily.
रसोनं सैन्धवं वापि तक्रकाञ्जिकपोषितम् । तिलसक्तुकपिण्डिका दधियुक्ता ससैन्धवा । निम्बपत्रयुतं पिण्डं व्रणशोधनरोपणम् ॥ १,२०१.
Garlic and rock salt, or buttermilk fermented with them, sesame cake mixed with curd and rock salt, and a cake with neem leaves are used for cleansing and healing wounds.
पटोलं निम्बपत्रञ्च वचा चित्रकमेव च । पिप्पलीशृङ्गवेरञ्च चूर्णमेकत्र कारयेत् ॥ १,२०१.
Patola, neem leaves, vacha, citraka, pippali, and ginger should be powdered together.

After boiling these, the wise person should give it to the horse with flowing blood for three days to relieve horse-leprosy.

For nasal treatment, one should immediately administer juice of mātuluṅga or the juice of māṃsī, combined with other winds.
पलद्वयं प्रथमेऽह्नि एकैकपलवृद्धितः । यावद्दिनानि पूर्णानि पलान्यष्टादशोत्तमे ॥ १,२०१.
On the first day, two palas are given, increasing by one pala each day, until eighteen palas are reached on the final day.
