आवाहनीं ततो बद्धा मुद्रामावाहयेद्धरिम् 17.
Then, having formed the gesture of invocation, one should invite Hari.
आग्नेय्यां दिशि देवस्य हृदयं स्थापयेच्छिव ! 17.
In the southeast direction, O Shiva, one should place the heart of the deity.
पौरन्दर्य्यां न्यसेद्धर्म्ममेकाग्रस्थितमानसः 17.
In the Paurandari direction, with mind firmly concentrated, one should place Dharma.
ऐशान्यां स्थापयेत्सोमं पौरन्दर्य्यां तु लोहितम् 17.
In the northeast, one should place Soma; in the Paurandari direction, Lohita.
नैर्ऋत्यां दानवगुरुं वारुण्यां तु शनैश्चरम् 17.
In the southwest, the preceptor of the Daityas; in the west, Shani.
द्वितीयायां तु कक्षायां सूर्य्यान्द्वादश पूजयेत् 17.
In the second enclosure, one should worship the twelve Suns.
सविता चैव धाता च विवस्वांश्च महाबलः 17.
Savitṛ, Dhātṛ, and the mighty Vivasvat.
पूर्वादावर्चयेद्देवानिन्द्रादीञ्छ्रद्धया नरः । जया च विजया चैव जयन्ति चापराजिता 17.
From the east, a man should worship the gods beginning with Indra, with faith; also Jaya, Vijaya, Jayanti, and Aparajita.
गरुडोक्तं कश्यपाय वक्ष्ये मृत्युञ्जयार्चनम् 18.
I will now describe to Kashyapa the worship of the Death-conquering One, as spoken by Garuda.
ओङ्कारं पूर्वमुद्धृत्य जु(हु)ङ्काँरं तदनन्तरम् 18.
First, one should utter Om, then immediately after, the syllable Juṅ.
ईशविष्णवर्कदेव्यादिकवचं सर्वसाधकम् जपनान्मृत्युहीनाः स्युः सर्वपापविवर्जिताः ।। 18.
Reciting the all-accomplishing armor of Īśa, Viṣṇu, Arka, and Devī, one becomes free from death and devoid of all sins.
शतजप्याद्वेदफलं यज्ञतीर्थफलं लभेत् 18.
By reciting it a hundred times, one attains the fruit of the Vedas and the merit of sacrifices and holy pilgrimages.
ध्यायेच्च सितपद्मस्थं वरदं चाभयं करे 18.
One should meditate on him seated on a white lotus, granting boons and fearlessness with his hand.
तस्यैवांगगतां देवीममृतामृतभाषिणी(विनि) म् 18.
The goddess, who is part of his body, speaks nectar and immortality.
जपेदष्टसहस्त्रं वै त्रिसन्ध्यं मासमेकतः 18.
One should recite it eight thousand times, at the three junctions of the day, for a month, without interruption.
आह्वानं स्थापनं रोधं सन्निधानं निवेशनम् 18.
Invocation, establishment, restraint, presence, and installation.
दीपांबरं भूषणं च नैवद्यं पानवीजनम् 18.
Lamp, garment, ornament, food offering, drink, and fan.
वाद्यं गतिं च नृत्यं च न्यासयोगं प्रदक्षिणम् 18.
Musical instrument, movement, dance, gesture of placement, and circumambulation.
षडंगादिप्रकारेण पूजनं तु क्रमोदितम् 18.
Worship is performed in order, according to the six limbs and other methods.
अर्घ्यपात्रार्चनं चादौवस्त्रेणैव तु ताडनम् 18.
First, the offering vessel is worshipped, and then it is touched with a cloth.
पूजा चाधारशक्त्यादेः प्राणायामं तथासने 18.
Worship is also with the support of the substratum power, with breath control and posture.
आत्मानं देवरूपं च करांगन्यासकं चरेत् 18.
One should conceive oneself and the deity's form, and perform the placement of hands and limbs.
मूर्त्तौ वा स्थण्डिले वापि क्षिपेत्पुष्पं तु भास्वरम् 18.
One should place a radiant flower either on the image or on the altar.
सान्निध्यकरणं देवे परिवारस्य पूजनम् 18.
One should invoke the presence of the deity and worship the retinue.
धर्मादयश्च शक्राद्याः सायुधाः परिवारकाः 18.
Dharma and others, Indra and the rest, armed, are the attendants.
मातृकाश्च गणांश्चादौ नन्दिगङ्गे च पूजयेत् 18.
First, one should worship the Mothers, the groups, Nandi, and Ganga.
ॐ अमृतेश्वर ॐ भैरवाय नमः 18.
Om, Amriteshvara; Om, salutations to Bhairava.
एवं शिवाय कृष्णाय ब्रह्मणे च गणाय च 18.
In this way, to Shiva, Krishna, Brahma, and the hosts.
प्राणेश्वरं गारुडं च शिवोक्तं प्रवदाम्यहम् 19.
I will declare the Lord of Life, the Garuda rite, as spoken by Shiva.
चितावल्मीकशैलादौ कपे च विवरे तरोः 19.
