Garuda Purana

हरीतकीकषायेण मृष्ट्वा दन्तान्प्रलेपयेत् । दन्ताः स्युर्लोहिताः पुंसः श्वेता रुद्र न संशयः ॥ १,१७९.

After rubbing the teeth with a decoction of harītakī, one should apply the mixture; the teeth of a person will become red and white, O Rudra, without doubt.

मूलकं स्विद्य मन्दाग्नौ रसं तस्य प्रपूरयेत् । कर्णयोः पूरणात्तेन कर्णस्त्रावो विनश्यति ॥ १,१७९.

Radish, sweated over a gentle fire, its juice should be filled into the ears; by filling the ears with it, ear discharge is eliminated.

अर्कपत्रं गृहीत्वा तु मन्दाग्नौ तापयेच्छनैः । निष्पीड्य पूरयेत्कर्णौ कर्णशूलं विनश्यति ॥ १,१७९.

Taking arka leaves, gently heating them over a mild fire, and squeezing them, the juice should be filled into the ears; ear pain is removed.

प्रियङ्गुमधुका चैव धातक्युत्पलपाङ्क्तिभिः । मञ्जिष्ठा लोध्रलाक्षाभिः कपित्थस्वरसेन च । पचेत्तैलं तथा स्त्रीणां नश्येत्क्लेदः प्रपूरणात् ॥ १,१७९.

Priyaṅgu and licorice, along with dhātaki, lotus, mañjiṣṭhā, lodhra, lac, and the juice of kapittha—cook these in oil; for women, it eliminates moisture when applied.

शुष्कमूलकशुण्ठीनां क्षारो हिङ्गुमहौषधम् । सतपुष्पावचा कुष्ठं दारु शिग्र रसाञ्जनम् ॥ १,१७९.

Dried radish and ginger, salt, asafoetida, great medicinal herbs, satapuṣpā, acorus, kuṣṭha, dāru, horseradish, and antimony.

सौवर्चलं यवक्षारं तथा सर्जकसैन्धवम् । तथा ग्रन्थिर्विडं मुस्तं मधुयुक्तं चतुर्गुणम् ॥ १,१७९.

Black salt, barley salt, sarjaka, rock salt, granthi, viḍaṅga, musta, and four times honey.

मातुलुं गरसस्तद्वत्कदल्याश्च रसो हि तैः । पक्वतैलं हरेदाशु स्त्रावादींश्च न संशयः ॥ १,१७९.

The juice of citron and banana, prepared in the same way with those ingredients, cooked in oil, quickly removes discharges and similar ailments, without doubt.

कर्णयोः कृमिनाशः स्यात्कटुतैलस्य पूरणात् । हरिद्रा निम्बपत्राणि पिप्पल्यो मरिचानि च ॥ १,१७९.

Filling the ears with pungent oil destroys worms in the ears; turmeric, neem leaves, long pepper, and black pepper.

विडङ्गभद्रं मुस्तञ्च सप्तमं विश्वभेषजम् । गोमूत्रेण च पिष्ट्वैव कृत्वा च वटिकां हर ! । अजीर्णहृद्भवेच्चैकं द्वयं विषूचिकापहम् ॥ १,१७९.

Viḍaṅga, bhadra, musta, and the seventh, the universal medicine; after grinding with cow urine and making pills, O Hari, one pill cures indigestion, two cure cholera.

पटोलं मधुना हन्ति गोमूत्रेण तथाबुदम् । एषा च शङ्करी वर्तिः सर्वनेत्रामया पहा ॥ १,१७९.

Patola, mixed with honey, cures abdominal disorders with cow urine; this Śaṅkarī pill removes all eye diseases.

श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम् १८० हरिरुवाच । वचा मांसी च बिल्वञ्च तगरं पद्मकेसरम् । नागपुष्पं प्रियङ्गुञ्च समभागानि चूर्णयेत् । अनेन धूपितो मर्त्यः कामवद्विचरेन्महीम् ॥ १,१८०.

Hari said: Vaca, māṃsī, bilva, tagara, padma-keśara, nāgapuṣpa, and priyaṅgu—these in equal parts should be powdered; a person fumigated with this will roam the earth as desired.

कर्पूरं देवदारुञ्च मधुना सह योजयेत् । लिङ्गलेपाच्च तेनैव वशीकुर्यात्स्त्रियं किल ॥ १,१८०.

Mix camphor and deodar with honey; by applying this to the liṅga, a man can indeed bring a woman under his control.

मैथुनं पुरुषो गच्छेद्गृह्णीयात्स्वकमिन्द्रियम् । वामहस्तेन वामञ्च हस्तं लिंपेत्तु यत्स्त्रियाः । आलिप्ता स्त्री वशं याति नान्यं पुरुषमिच्छति ॥ १,१८०.

A man should engage in intercourse while restraining his own senses; with his left hand, he should anoint the left hand of the woman with the mixture. A woman anointed in this way comes under his sway and desires no other man.

ओं रक्तचामुण्डे अमुकं मे वशमानय आनय ओं ह्रीं ह्रैं ह्रः फट् । इमं जप्त्वायुतं मन्त्रं तिलकेन च शङ्कर ! । गोरोचनासंयुतेन स्वरक्तेन वशी भवेत् ॥ १,१८०.

Reciting this mantra ten thousand times—'Oṃ, O red Cāmuṇḍā, bring so-and-so under my control, bring, Oṃ hrīṃ hraiṃ hraḥ phaṭ'—and marking the forehead with a tilaka made from gorocanā mixed with one's own blood, one becomes able to enchant.

सैन्धवं कृष्णलवणं सौवीरं मत्स्यपित्तकम् । मधु सर्पिः सितायुक्तं स्त्रीणां तद्भगलेपनात् ॥ १,१८०.

By applying a mixture of rock salt, black salt, Sauvīra salt, fish bile, honey, ghee, and sugar to a woman's yoni, the intended effect is achieved.

यः पुमान्मैथुनं गच्छेन्नान्यां नारीं गमिष्यति । शङ्कपुष्पी वचा मांसी सोम राजी च फल्गुकम् ॥ १,१८०.

A man who engages in intercourse in this way will not desire another woman; for this, use śaṅkapuṣpī, vacā, māṃsī, soma, rājī, and phalguka.

माहिषं नवनीतञ्च त्वकीकृत्य भिषग्वरः । समूलानि स पत्राणि क्षीरेणाज्येन पेषयेत् ॥ १,१८०.

The best physician should take buffalo fat and fresh butter, process them with the roots and leaves of the specified plants, and grind them together with milk and ghee.

गुटिकां शोधितां कृत्वा नारीयोन्या प्रवेशयेत् । दशवारं प्रसूतापि पुनः कन्या भविष्यति ॥ १,१८०.

After preparing and purifying a medicinal pill, it should be inserted into a woman's yoni; even if she has given birth ten times, she will become like a virgin again.

सर्षपाश्च वचा चैव मदनस्य फलानि च । मार्जारविष्ठा धत्तुर स्त्रीकेशेन समन्वितः ॥ १,१८०.

Mustard seeds, vacā, the fruits of madana, cat feces, and dhattūra, combined with women's hair, are to be used.

चातुर्थिकहरो धूपो डाकिनीज्वरनाशकः । अर्जुनस्य च पुष्पाणि भल्लातकविडङ्गके ॥ १,१८०.

A fumigation that removes the fourth-day fever and destroys the fever of ḍākinīs is made from the flowers of arjuna, bhallātaka, and viḍaṅga.

बला चैव सर्जरसं सौवीरसर्षपास्तथा । सर्पयूकामक्षिकाणां धूमो मशकनाशनः ॥ १,१८०.

Balā, sarja resin, Sauvīra salt, and mustard seeds—fumigation with these substances destroys snakes, lice, and flies, as well as mosquitoes.

भूतलायाश्च चूर्णेन स्तम्भः स्याद्योनिपूरणात् । तेन लेपनतो योनौ भगस्तम्भस्तु जायते ॥ १,१८०.

By filling the yoni with the powder of bhūtalā, there is constriction; by applying it to the yoni, the vagina becomes contracted.

श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम् १८१ हरिरुवाच । ताम्बूलञ्च घृतं क्षौद्रं लवणं ताम्रभाजने । तथा पयः समायुक्तं चक्षुः शूलहरं परम् ॥ १,१८१.

Hari said: Betel, ghee, honey, and salt in a copper vessel, together with milk, is an excellent remedy for eye pain.

हरीतकी वचा कुष्ठं व्योषं हिङ्गु मनः शिला । कासे श्वासे च हिक्कायां लिह्यात्क्षौद्रं घृप्लुतम् ॥ १,१८१.

Harītakī, vacā, kuṣṭha, vyoṣa, asafoetida, and manahśilā—these, licked with honey and ghee, are beneficial in cough, asthma, and hiccup.

पिप्पलीत्रिफलाचूर्णं मधुना लेहयेन्नरः । नश्यते पीनसः कासः श्वासश्च बलवत्तरः ॥ १,१८१.

A man should lick a mixture of pippalī, triphalā powder, and honey; this destroys catarrh, cough, and makes the breath strong.

समूलचित्रकं भस्मपिप्पलीचूर्णकं लिहेत् । श्वासं कासञ्च हिक्काञ्च मधुमिश्रं वृषध्वज ! ॥ १,१८१.

O bull-bannered one, licking a mixture of the root of citraka, its ash, and pippalī powder with honey cures asthma, cough, and hiccup.

नीलोत्पलं शर्करा च मधुकं पद्मकं समम् । तण्डुलोदकसंमिश्रं प्रशमेद्रक्तविक्रियाः ॥ १,१८१.

Blue lotus, sugar, licorice, and padmaka in equal parts, mixed with rice water, relieve disorders of the blood.

शुण्ठी च शर्करा चैव तथा क्षौद्रेण संयुता । कोकिलस्वर एव स्याद्गुटिका भुक्तिमात्रतः ॥ १,१८१.

Dry ginger and sugar, combined with honey, taken as a pill in the amount of a meal, will give a voice like a cuckoo.

हरितालं शङ्खचूर्णं कदलीदलभस्मना । एतद्द्रव्येण चोद्वर्त्य लोमशातनमुत्तमम् ॥ १,१८१.

Orpiment and conch powder, with the ash of banana leaves—by rubbing with this substance, hair is excellently removed.
