आरण्यस्य बिडालस्य गृहित्वा रुधिरं शुभम् । करञ्जतैले तद्भाव्यं रुद्राग्नौ कज्जलं ततः । पातयेत्पद्मपत्रेण हादृश्यः स्यात्तदञ्जनात् ॥ १,१७८.
Taking the pure blood of a wild cat and mixing it with karanja oil, then preparing soot in the fire of Rudra, and applying it with a lotus petal as collyrium, one becomes invisible.
ओं नमः खड्गवज्रपाणये महायक्षसेनापतये स्वाहा । ओं रुद्रं ह्रां ह्रीं वरशक्ता त्वरिताविद्या । ओं मातरः स्तम्भयस्वाहा । सहस्रं परिजप्यात्तु विद्येयं चौरवारिणी । महासुगन्धिकामूलं शुक्रं स्तम्भेत्कटौ स्थितम् ॥ १,१७८.
Om, obeisance to the sword-wielding Vajrapāṇi, great leader of the Yakṣa army, svāhā. Om, Rudra, hrām hrīm, bestower of power, swift knowledge. Om, Mothers, paralyze, svāhā. By reciting this a thousand times, this mantra becomes a thief’s protection. The root of mahāsugandhikā, applied to the semen at the waist, causes it to be restrained.
ओं नमः सर्वसत्त्वेभ्यो नमः सिद्धिं कुरु कुरु स्वाहा । सप्ताभिमन्त्रितं कृत्वा करवीरस्य पुष्पकम् । स्त्रीणामग्रे भ्रामयच्च क्षणाद्वै सा वशे भवेत् ॥ १,१७८.
Om, obeisance to all beings, grant success, grant success, svāhā. After enchanting the flower of karavīra seven times, if it is whirled before women, she becomes subject to control instantly.
ब्रह्मदण्डीं वचां पत्रं मधुना सह पेषयेत् । अङ्गलेपाच्च वनिता नान्यं भर्तारमिच्छति ॥ १,१७८.
The leaf of brahmadaṇḍī and vacā, ground together with honey and applied to the limbs, causes a woman to desire no other husband.
ब्रह्मदण्डीशिखा वक्त्रे क्षिप्ता शुक्रस्य स्तम्भनम् । मूलं जयन्त्या वक्त्रस्थं व्यवहारे जयप्रदम् ॥ १,१७८.
If the tip of brahmadaṇḍī is placed in the mouth, it restrains semen; the root of jayanti, kept in the mouth, grants victory in disputes.
भृङ्गराजस्य मूलं तु पिष्टं शुक्रेण संयुतम् । अक्षिणी चाञ्जयित्वा तु वशी कर्यान्नरं किल ॥ १,१७८.
The root of bhṛṅgarāja, ground and mixed with semen, when applied as collyrium to the eyes, is said to bring a man under control.
अपराजिताशिखान्तु नीलोत्पलसमन्विताम् । ताम्बूलेन प्र (दाना) दद्याच्च वशीकरणमुत्तमम् ॥ १,१७८.
The tip of aparājitā, combined with blue lotus, if given with betel leaf, produces the highest enchantment.
अङ्गुष्ठे च पदे गुल्फे जानौ च जघने तथा । नाभौ वक्षसि कुक्षौ च कक्षे कण्ठे कपोलके ॥ १,१७८.
On the big toe, foot, ankle, knee, hip, navel, chest, belly, armpit, neck, and cheek—
ओष्ठे नेत्रे ललाटे च मूर्ध्नि चन्द्रकलाः स्थिताः । स्त्रीणां पक्षे सिते कृष्णे ऊर्ध्वाधः संस्थिता नृणाम् ॥ १,१७८.
On the lip, eye, forehead, and on the head, the lunar digits are situated; for women, they are on the left and for men, on the right, above and below.
वामाङ्गे दक्षिणाङ्गे च क्रमाद्रुद्र द्रवादिकृत् । चतुः षष्टि कलाः प्रोक्ताः कामशास्त्रे वशीकराः । आलिङ्गनाद्या नारीणां कमारीणां वशीकराः ॥ १,१७८.
On the left and right sides, successively, Rudra causes melting and other effects; sixty-four digits are described in the Kāmaśāstra as means of enchantment, beginning with embracing, for women and for those who conquer desire.
रोचनागन्धुपुष्पाणि निम्बपुष्पं प्रियङ्गवः । कुङ्कमं चन्दनञ्चैव तिलकेन जगद्वशेत् ॥ १,१७८.
Yellow pigment, fragrant flowers, neem flowers, priyangu, saffron, and sandal—by marking with these, one can bring the world under control.
ओं ह्रीं गौरि देवि सौभाग्यं पुत्रवशादि देहि मे । ओं ह्रीं लक्ष्मि ! देवि सौभाग्यं सर्वं त्रैलोक्यमोहनम् ॥ १,१७८.
Om hrīm, O goddess Gaurī, grant me good fortune and control over sons; Om hrīm, O goddess Lakṣmī, grant me all good fortune and the power to enchant the three worlds.
सगन्धस्य हरिद्रायाः कुङ्कमानां च लेपतः । वशयेद्रुद्र धूपश्च तथापुष्पसुगन्धयोः ॥ १,१७८.
By anointing with fragrant turmeric and saffron, and by fumigating with Rudra incense and the scent of flowers, one gains control.
दुरालभा वचा कुष्ठं कुङ्कुमञ्च शतावरी । तिलतैलेन संयुक्तं योनिलेपाद्वशी नरः ॥ १,१७८.
Durālabhā, vacā, kuṣṭha, saffron, and śatāvarī, mixed with sesame oil and applied to the female organ, make a man subject to control.
निम्बकाष्ठस्य धूमेन धूपयित्वा भगं वधूः । सुभगास्यात्साति रुद्र पतिर्दासो भविष्यति ॥ १,१७८.
After fumigating the vulva of the bride with smoke from neem wood, O Rudra, she will become fortunate, but her husband will become a servant.
माहिषं नवनीतञ्च कष्टञ्च मधुयष्टिका । सौभाग्यं भगलेपात्स्यात्पतिर्दासो भवेत्तथा ॥ १,१७८.
If the vulva is anointed with buffalo butter, wood, and licorice, it brings good fortune; likewise, the husband will become a servant.
मधुयष्टिश्च गोक्षीरं तथा च कण्टकारिका । एतानि समभागानि पिबेदुष्णेन वारिणा । चतुर्भागावशेषेण गर्भसम्भवमुत्तमम् ॥ १,१७८.
Licorice, cow's milk, and thorn apple—these, in equal parts, should be drunk with warm water; when only a quarter remains, it results in excellent conception.
मातुलुङ्गस्य बीजानि क्षीरेण सह भावयेत् । तत्पीत्वा लभते गर्भं नात्र कार्या विचारणा ॥ १,१७८.
The seeds of citron should be mixed with milk; by drinking this, conception is attained, and there is no need for further deliberation.
मातुलुङ्गस्य बीजानि मूलान्येरण्डकस्य च । घृतेन सह संयोज्य पाययेत्पुत्रकाक्षिणी ॥ १,१७८.
The seeds of citron and the roots of castor, combined with ghee, should be given to a woman desiring a son to drink.
पश्वगन्धा मृत दुग्ध क्वथितं मुत्रकारकम् । पलाशस्य तु बीजानि क्षौद्रेण सह पेषयेत् । रजस्वला तु पीत्वा स्यात्मुष्पगर्भविवर्जिता ॥ १,१७८.
The dried milk of a cow with the scent of musk, boiled, induces urination; the seeds of palāśa, ground with honey, if drunk by a menstruating woman, prevent conception.
श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम् १७९ हरिरुवाच । हरितालं यवक्षांरं पत्राङ्गं रक्तचन्दनम् । जातिहिङ्गुलकं लाक्षां पक्त्वा दन्तान्प्रलेपयेत् ॥ १,१७९.
Hari said: Orpiment, barley salt, patraṅga, red sandalwood, real cinnabar, lac—after cooking these, one should apply them to the teeth.
हरीतकीकषायेण मृष्ट्वा दन्तान्प्रलेपयेत् । दन्ताः स्युर्लोहिताः पुंसः श्वेता रुद्र न संशयः ॥ १,१७९.
After rubbing the teeth with a decoction of harītakī, one should apply the mixture; the teeth of a person will become red and white, O Rudra, without doubt.
मूलकं स्विद्य मन्दाग्नौ रसं तस्य प्रपूरयेत् । कर्णयोः पूरणात्तेन कर्णस्त्रावो विनश्यति ॥ १,१७९.
Radish, sweated over a gentle fire, its juice should be filled into the ears; by filling the ears with it, ear discharge is eliminated.
अर्कपत्रं गृहीत्वा तु मन्दाग्नौ तापयेच्छनैः । निष्पीड्य पूरयेत्कर्णौ कर्णशूलं विनश्यति ॥ १,१७९.
Taking arka leaves, gently heating them over a mild fire, and squeezing them, the juice should be filled into the ears; ear pain is removed.
प्रियङ्गुमधुका चैव धातक्युत्पलपाङ्क्तिभिः । मञ्जिष्ठा लोध्रलाक्षाभिः कपित्थस्वरसेन च । पचेत्तैलं तथा स्त्रीणां नश्येत्क्लेदः प्रपूरणात् ॥ १,१७९.
Priyaṅgu and licorice, along with dhātaki, lotus, mañjiṣṭhā, lodhra, lac, and the juice of kapittha—cook these in oil; for women, it eliminates moisture when applied.
शुष्कमूलकशुण्ठीनां क्षारो हिङ्गुमहौषधम् । सतपुष्पावचा कुष्ठं दारु शिग्र रसाञ्जनम् ॥ १,१७९.
Dried radish and ginger, salt, asafoetida, great medicinal herbs, satapuṣpā, acorus, kuṣṭha, dāru, horseradish, and antimony.
सौवर्चलं यवक्षारं तथा सर्जकसैन्धवम् । तथा ग्रन्थिर्विडं मुस्तं मधुयुक्तं चतुर्गुणम् ॥ १,१७९.
Black salt, barley salt, sarjaka, rock salt, granthi, viḍaṅga, musta, and four times honey.
मातुलुं गरसस्तद्वत्कदल्याश्च रसो हि तैः । पक्वतैलं हरेदाशु स्त्रावादींश्च न संशयः ॥ १,१७९.
The juice of citron and banana, prepared in the same way with those ingredients, cooked in oil, quickly removes discharges and similar ailments, without doubt.
कर्णयोः कृमिनाशः स्यात्कटुतैलस्य पूरणात् । हरिद्रा निम्बपत्राणि पिप्पल्यो मरिचानि च ॥ १,१७९.
Filling the ears with pungent oil destroys worms in the ears; turmeric, neem leaves, long pepper, and black pepper.
विडङ्गभद्रं मुस्तञ्च सप्तमं विश्वभेषजम् । गोमूत्रेण च पिष्ट्वैव कृत्वा च वटिकां हर ! । अजीर्णहृद्भवेच्चैकं द्वयं विषूचिकापहम् ॥ १,१७९.
Viḍaṅga, bhadra, musta, and the seventh, the universal medicine; after grinding with cow urine and making pills, O Hari, one pill cures indigestion, two cure cholera.
