अन्नप्रदोऽन्नरूपी च ह्यन्नादोऽन्नप्रवर्तकः 15.
He is the giver of food, the embodiment of food, the eater of food, and the initiator of food.
देवक्यानन्दनो नन्दो रोहिण्याः प्रिय एव च 15.
He is the joy of Devakī, Nanda, and the beloved of Rohiṇī.
दुन्दुभिर्हासरूपश्च पुष्पहासस्तथैव च 15.
He is Dundubhi, the form of laughter, and also the blossoming of flowers.
अच्युतश्चैव सत्येशः सत्यायाश्च प्रियो वरः 15.
He is Acyuta, the Lord of Truth, and the beloved consort of Satyā.
गोपीनां वल्लभश्चैव पुण्यश्लोकश्च विश्रुतः 15.
He is the beloved of the cowherd women, renowned as the one of virtuous fame.
राहुः केतुर्ग्रहो ग्राहो गजेन्द्रमुखमेलकः 15.
He is Rāhu, Ketu, the graha, the seizer, and the one with the face of the lord of elephants.
किन्नरश्चैव सिद्धश्च छन्दः स्वच्छन्द एव च 15.
He is a Kinnara, a Siddha, the meter, and indeed the one who acts according to his own will.
अनन्तरूपो भूतस्थो देवदानवसंस्थितः 15.
He is of infinite forms, abiding among beings, present among gods and demons.
जगत्स्थश्चैव जागर्त्ता स्थानं जागरितं तथा 15.
He abides in the world, is ever wakeful, the place and the state of wakefulness as well.
जाग्रत्स्वप्नसुषुप्तैश्च विहीनो वै चतुर्थकः 15.
He is free from waking, dreaming, and deep sleep, and is known as the fourth state.
भुवनाधिपतिश्चैव भुवनानां नियामकः 15.
He is the lord of the worlds and the regulator of all worlds.
परमानन्दरूपी च धर्म्माणां च प्रवर्त्तकः 15.
He is of the form of supreme bliss and the promoter of righteousness.
प्रत्याहारो धारकश्च प्रत्याहारकरस्तथा 15.
He is withdrawal, the supporter, and also the cause of withdrawal.
अग्राहश्चैव गौरश्च सर्वः शुचिरभिष्टुतः 15.
He is without grasping, fair, all-pervading, pure, and highly praised.
पक्ता नन्दयिता भोक्ता बोद्धा भावयिता तथा 15.
He is the cook, the one who brings joy, the enjoyer, the knower, and also the one who contemplates.
नदी नन्दी च नन्दीशो भारतस्तरुनाशनः 15.
He is the river, the joyful one, the lord of joy, the destroyer of the Bharata trees.
ईशश्च सर्वदेवानां द्वारकासंस्थितस्तथा 15.
He is the lord of all gods, and also the one who dwells in Dvārakā.
भरतो जनको जन्यः सर्वाकारवि वर्जितः 15.
He is Bharata, Janaka, the cause of birth, and devoid of all forms.
इति नामसहस्त्रं ते वृषभध्वज कीर्त्तितम् 15.
Thus, O bearer of the bull-banner, the thousand names have been recited to you.
पठन्द्विजश्च विष्णुत्वं क्षत्रियो जयमाप्नुयात् 15.
By reciting this, a Brahmin attains the state of Viṣṇu, and a Kṣatriya obtains victory.
पुनर्ध्यानं समाचक्ष्व शंखचक्रगदाधर 16.
Describe again the meditation, O bearer of conch, discus, and mace.
हरिरुवाच दृशिरूपमनन्तं च सर्वव्याप्यजमव्ययम् ।। 16.
Hari said: The form to be visualized is infinite, all-pervading, unborn, and imperishable.
अक्षरं सर्वगं नित्यं महद्ब्रह्मास्ति केवलम् 16.
It is the imperishable, all-pervading, eternal, supreme Brahman, existing alone.
सर्वभूतहृदिस्थं वै सर्वभूतमहेश्वरम् 16.
It dwells in the hearts of all beings, the great Lord of all creatures.
अलेपकं तथा मुक्तं मुक्तयोगिविचिन्तितम् 16.
It is untouched, liberated, and contemplated by those united with liberation.
वागिन्द्रियविहीनं च प्राणिधर्म्मविवर्जितम् पायूपस्थविहीनं च सर्वैंन्द्रिय विवर्जितम् ।। 16.
It is devoid of speech and senses, free from the functions of breath, without anus and genitals, and devoid of all senses.
मनोविरहितं तद्वन्मनोधर्म्मविवर्जितम् 16.
It is without mind, and free from all mental attributes.
अहंकारविहीनं वै बुद्धिधर्म्मविवर्जितम् 16.
It is without ego, and devoid of the qualities of intellect.
व्यानाख्यवायुहीनं वै प्राणधर्म्मविवर्जितम् पुनः सूर्य्यर्च्चनं वक्ष्ये यदुक्तं भृगवे पुरा ।। 16.
It is without the vital air called vyāna, free from the functions of breath; now I will again describe the worship of the Sun, as formerly spoken to Bhrigu.
