शूलगुल्मौ च विण्मूत्रस्थानविष्टम्भसूचकौ । विधेयं स्वेदनं तत्र पानीयं लवणोदकम् ॥ १,१६८.
Colic and abdominal tumors, indicated by obstruction of urine and stool, should be treated with fomentation and drinking saline water.
आममम्लं च विष्टब्धं कफपित्तानिलैः क्रमात् । आलिप्य जठरं प्राज्ञो हिङ्गुत्र्यूषणसैन्धवैः ॥ १,१६८.

Equal parts of oil and milk, with paste as a quarter of the oil, should be cooked with the prescribed medicines; for enema and oral administration, the preparation should be equal; for massage, it should be rough, for nasal application gentle, and the preparation should be suitably adjusted.
स्थूलदेहन्द्रियाश्चिन्त्या प्रकृतिर्या त्वधिष्ठिता । आरोग्यमिति तं विद्यादायुष्मन्तमुपाचरेत् ॥ १,१६८.
One should consider those with robust bodies and senses, whose natural constitution is established; such a person is to be regarded as healthy and should be cared for as one possessing longevity.
यो गृह्णातीन्द्रियैरर्थान्विपरीतान्स मृत्युभाक् । भिषङ्मित्रगुरुद्वेषी प्रियारातिश्च यो भवेत् ॥ १,१६८.
He who perceives objects with his senses in a distorted manner is destined for death; one who is hostile to physicians, friends, and teachers, or excessively attached to loved ones or enemies, likewise faces peril.
गुल्फजानुललाटं च हनुर्गण्डस्तथैव च । भ्रष्टं स्थानच्युतं यस्य स जहात्यचिरादसून् ॥ १,१६८.
If the ankle, knee, forehead, jaw, or cheek are dislocated or displaced in someone, that person will soon lose their life.
वामाक्षिमज्जनं जिह्वा श्यामा नासा विकारिणी । कृष्णौ स्थानच्युतौ चोष्ठौ कृष्णास्यं यस्यतं त्यजेत् ॥ १,१६८.
If the left eye is sunken, the tongue is dark, the nose is deformed, the lips are black and displaced, and the mouth is black, one should abandon hope for such a person.
श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम् १६९ धन्वन्तरिरुवाच । हिताहितविकेकाय अनुपानविधिं ब्रुवे । रक्तशालि त्रिदोषघ्नं तृष्णामेदोनिवारकम् ॥ १,१६९.
Dhanvantari said: I will explain the discernment of what is beneficial and harmful, and the rules for anupāna; red rice destroys the three doṣas, quenches thirst, and prevents fat accumulation.
महाशालि परं वृष्यं कलमः श्लेष्मपित्तहा । शीत्तो गुरुस्त्रिदोषघ्नः प्रायशो गौरषष्टिकः ॥ १,१६९.
Mahāśāli is highly invigorating; kalama rice alleviates phlegm and bile; it is cooling, heavy, and generally, the white ṣaṣṭika rice also pacifies the three doṣas.

चित्रकेङ्गुदिनालीकाः पिप्पलीमधुशिग्रवः । चव्याचरणनिर्गुण्डीतर्कारीकाशमर्दकाः ॥ १,१६९.

Bilva and similar fruits counteract phlegm and bile, destroy worms, are light and stimulate digestion; in rainy regions and under the sun, they dispel wind and phlegm, removing all disorders.
तिक्तरसः स्यादेरण्डः काकमाची त्रिदोषहृत् । चाङ्गेरी कफवातघ्नी सर्षपः सर्वदोषदम् ॥ १,१६९.
Castor, black nightshade, and kākamācī are bitter and remove all three doshas; cāṅgerī counters phlegm and wind, and mustard eliminates all disorders.
तद्वदेव च कौस्मसुम्भं राजिका वातपित्तला । नाडीचः कफपित्तघ्नः चुचुर्मधुरशीतलः ॥ १,१६९.
Likewise, kausmasumbha and rājikā alleviate wind and bile; nāḍīcaḥ counters phlegm and bile, while cucumber is sweet and cooling.
दोषघ्नं पद्मपत्रञ्च त्रिपुटं वातकृत्परम् । सक्षारः सर्वदोषघ्नो वास्तुको रोचनः परः ॥ १,१६९.

तण्डुकीयोविपहरः पालङ्क्याश्च तथापरे । मूलकं दोषकृच्छामं स्विन्नं वातकफापदम् ॥ १,१६९.
Taṇḍukī and vipahara, as well as pālaṅkyā and others, root vegetables cause disorders and are emaciating; when cooked, they aggravate wind and phlegm.
सर्वदोषहरं ह्यद्यं कण्ठ्यं तत्पक्वमिष्यते । कर्कोटकं सवार्ताकं पदोलं कारवेल्लकम् ॥ १,१६९.
Among all, adya is best for removing disorders and soothing the throat when cooked; karkoṭaka, vārtāka, padola, and kāravellaka are also included.
