पाञ्चरात्रविदो मुख्या नैवेद्यं भुञ्जते स्वयम् । एवं संवत्सरस्यान्ते विशेषेण प्रपूजयेत् ॥ १,१३७.
The foremost knowers of the Pāñcarātra themselves partake of the naivedya; in this way, at the end of the year, one should worship with special devotion.
नमोनमस्तेऽच्युत ! संक्षयोऽस्तु पापस्य वृद्धिं समुपैतु पुण्यम् । ऐश्वर्यवित्तादि सदाक्षयं मे तथास्तु मे सन्ततिरक्षयैव ॥ १,१३७.
Salutations, salutations to you, Acyuta! May my sins be destroyed; may my merit ever increase; may my wealth and prosperity never diminish, and may my lineage remain unbroken.
यथाच्युत !त्वं परतः परस्मात्स ब्रह्मभूतः परतः परस्मात् । तथाच्युतं मे कुरु वाञ्छितं सदा मया कृतं पापहराप्रमेय ॥ १,१३७.
Just as you, O Acyuta, are beyond the beyond, the very essence of Brahman, so too, O immeasurable one, remover of sins, always fulfill my desires as I have worshipped you.
अच्युतानन्त ! गोविन्द ! प्रसीद यदभीप्सितम् । तदक्षयममेयात्मन्कुरुष्व पुरुषोत्तम ॥ १,१३७.
Acyuta! Ananta! Govinda! Be gracious—whatever is desired, O immeasurable self, O Supreme Person, grant that unfailing boon.
कुर्याद्वै सप्त वर्षाणि आयुः श्रीसद्गतीर्नरः । उपोष्यैकादशीब्दमष्टमीं च चतुर्दशीम् ॥ १,१३७.
A man who observes for seven years, fasting on Ekādaśī, Aṣṭamī, and Caturdaśī, attains long life, prosperity, and the highest state.
सप्तमीं पूजयेद्विष्णुं दुर्गां शम्बुं रविं क्रमात् । तेषां लोकं समाप्नोति सर्वकामांश्च निर्मलः ॥ १,१३७.
On the seventh day, one should worship Viṣṇu, Durgā, Śambhu, and the Sun in order; he attains their realms, all pure desires, and purity.
एकभक्तेन नक्तेन तथैवायाचितेन च । उपवासेन शाकाद्यैः पूजयन्तसर्वदेवताः ॥ १,१३७.
By worshipping all the deities with single-minded devotion, with night-fasting, with food obtained by alms, or with vegetables and the like, one is blessed.
सर्वः सर्वासु तिथिषु भुक्तिं मुक्तिमवाप्नुयात् । धनदोऽग्निः प्रतिपदि नासत्यो दस्त्र अर्चितः ॥ १,१३७.
Whoever observes all these fasts on all lunar days attains both enjoyment and liberation; on the first day, Kubera and Agni are worshipped, and the Aśvins as well.
श्रीर्यमश्च द्वितीयायां पञ्चम्या पार्वती श्रिया । नागाः षष्ठ्यां कार्तिकेयः सप्तम्यां भास्करोर्ऽथदः ॥ १,१३७.
On the second day, Lakṣmī and Yama; on the fifth, Pārvatī and Śrī; on the sixth, the Nāgas; on the seventh, Kārttikeya and the Sun, bestower of wealth.
दुर्गाष्टम्यां मातरश्च नवम्यामथ तक्षकः । इन्द्रो दशम्यां धनद एकादश्यां मुनीश्वराः ॥ १,१३७.
On Durgāṣṭamī, Durgā and the Mothers; on the ninth, Takṣaka; on the tenth, Indra; on the eleventh, Kubera and the great sages.
द्वादश्यां च हरिः कामस्त्रयोदश्यां महेश्वरः । चतुर्दश्यां पञ्चदश्यां ब्रह्मा च पितरोऽपरे ॥ १,१३७.
On the twelfth, Hari; on the thirteenth, Kāma and Maheśvara; on the fourteenth and fifteenth, Brahmā and the other ancestors.
श्रीगरुडमहापुराणम् १३८ (इति व्रतानि समाप्तानि) । हरिरुवाच । राज्ञां वंशान्प्रवक्ष्यामि वंशानुचरितानि च । विष्णुनाभ्यब्जतो ब्रह्मा दक्षोऽङ्गुष्ठाच्च तस्य वै ॥ १,१३८.
The great Garuḍa Purāṇa, 138. Thus the vows are completed. Hari said: I shall declare the lineages of kings and their histories; from Viṣṇu's navel came Brahmā, and from his thumb, Dakṣa.
ततोऽपितर्विवस्वांश्च ततः सूनुर्विवस्वतः मनुरिक्ष्वाकुशर्याती नृगो धृष्टः प्रषध्रकः ॥ १,१३८.
From him came the fathers, and from them Vivasvān; from Vivasvān's son came Manu, Ikṣvāku, Śaryāti, Nṛga, Dhṛṣṭa, and Praṣadhra.
नरिष्यन्तश्च नाभागो दिष्टः शशक एव च । मनोरासीदिला कन्या सुद्युम्नोऽस्य सुतोऽभवत् ॥ १,१३८.
Nariṣyanta, Nābhāga, Diṣṭa, and Śaśaka as well; Manu had a daughter named Ilā, and her son was Sudyumna.
इलायां तु बुधाज्जातो राजा रुद्र पुरूरवाः । सुतास्त्रयश्च सुद्युम्नादुत्कलो विनतो गयः ॥ १,१३८.
From Budha and Ilā was born the king Purūravas, son of Rudra; and from Sudyumna came three sons: Utkala, Vinata, and Gaya.
अभृच्छ्रद्रो गोवधात्तु पृषध्रस्तु मनोः सुतः । करूषात्क्षत्त्रिया जाता कारूषा इति विश्रुताः ॥ १,१३८.
Abhṛśraddha was born from Govadha, and Pṛṣadhra was the son of Manu; from Karūṣa were born the Kṣatriyas known as the Kārūṣas.
दिष्टपुत्रस्तु नाभागो वैश्यातामगमत्स च । तस्माद्भलन्दनः पुत्रो वत्सप्रीतिर्भलन्दनात् ॥ १,१३८.
Diṣṭa’s son was Nābhāga, who became a Vaiśya; from him came his son Bhalandana, and from Bhalandana was born Vatsaprīti.
ततः पांशुः खनित्रोऽभूद्भूपस्तस्मात्ततः क्षुपः । क्षुपाद्विंशोऽभवत्पुत्रो विंशाज्जातो विविंशकः ॥ १,१३८.
Then Pāṃśu was born, followed by Khanitra, then Bhūpa; from him came Kṣupa, and from Kṣupa was born Viṃśa, whose son was Viviṃśaka.
विविंशाच्च खनीनेत्रो विभूतिस्तत्सुतः स्मृतः । करन्धमो विभूतेस्तु ततो जातोऽप्यविक्षितः ॥ १,१३८.
From Viviṃśa came Khanīnetra, whose son was Vibhūti; from Vibhūti was born Karandhama, and from him, Avikṣita.
मरुत्तोऽविक्षितस्यापि नरिष्यन्तस्ततः स्मृतः । नरिष्यन्तात्तमो जातस्ततोभूद्राजवर्धनः ॥ १,१३८.
From Avikṣita came Marutta, and from him, Nariṣyanta; from Nariṣyanta was born Tama, and from him, Rājavardhana.
राजवर्धात्सुधृतिश्च नरोऽभूत्सुधृतेः सुतः । नराच्च केवलः पुत्रः केवलाद्धुन्धुमानपि ॥ १,१३८.
From Rājavardhana came Sudhṛti, and from Sudhṛti, Nara; from Nara was born Kevala, and from Kevala, Dhundhumān.
धुन्धुमतो वेगवांश्च बुधो वेगवतः सुतः । तृणबिन्दुर्बुधाज्जातः कान्या चैलविला तथा ॥ १,१३८.
From Dhundhumān came Vegavān, and from Vegavān, Budha; from Budha was born Tṛṇabindu, and also Kānyā and Cailavilā.
विशालं जनयामास तृणबिन्दोस्त्वलम्बुसा । विशालाद्धेमचन्द्रोऽभूद्धेम चन्द्राच्च चन्द्रकः ॥ १,१३८.
Alambusā bore Viśāla to Tṛṇabindu; from Viśāla came Hemacandra, and from Hemacandra, Candraka.
धूम्राश्वश्चैव चन्द्रात्तु धूम्राश्वात्सृञ्जयस्तथा । सञ्जयात्सहदेवोऽभूत्कृशाश्वस्तत्सुतोऽभवत् ॥ १,१३८.
From Candraka came Dhūmrāśva, and from Dhūmrāśva, Sṛñjaya; from Sṛñjaya was born Sañjaya, and his son was Sahadeva, whose son was Kṛśāśva.
कृशाश्वात्सोमदत्तस्तुततोऽभूज्जनमेजयः । तत्पुत्रश्च सुमन्तिश्च एते वैशालका नृपाः ॥ १,१३८.
From Kṛśāśva came Somadatta, and from him, Janamejaya; his son was Sumanti—these were the kings of Vaiśālī.
शर्यातेस्तु सुकन्याबूत्सा भार्या च्यवनस्य तु । अनन्तो नाम शार्यते रनन्ताद्रेवतोऽभवत् ॥ १,१३८.
From Śaryāti was born Sukanyā, who became the wife of Cyavana; from Śāryāti came Ananta, and from Ananta, Revata.
रैवतो रेवतस्यापि रैवताद्रेवती सुता । धृष्टस्य धार्ष्टर्(त) कं क्षेत्रं वैष्णवं (श्यकं) तद्वभूव ह ॥ १,१३८.
From Revata came Raivata, and from Raivata, the daughter Revatī; from Dhṛṣṭa came the Dhārṣṭakas, and their land was known as Vaiṣṇava.
नाभागपुत्रो नेष्ठो ह्यम्बरीषोऽपि तत्सुतः । अम्बरीषाद्विरूपोऽभूत्पृषदश्वो विरूपतः ॥ १,१३८.
Nābhāga’s son was Neṣṭha, and his son was Ambarīṣa; from Ambarīṣa came Virūpa, and from Virūpa, Pṛṣadaśva.
रथीनरश्च तत्पुत्रो वासुदेवपरायणः । इक्ष्वाकोस्तु त्रयः पुत्राः विकुक्षिनिमिदण्डकाः ॥ १,१३८.
Rathīnara was his son, devoted to Vāsudeva; Ikṣvāku had three sons: Vikukṣi, Nimi, and Daṇḍaka.
इक्ष्वाकुजो विकुक्षिस्तु शशादः शशभक्षणात् । पुरञ्जयः शशादाच्च ककुत्स्थाख्योऽभवत्सुतः ॥ १,१३८.
Vikukṣi, son of Ikṣvāku, was called Śaśāda because he ate a hare; from Śaśāda came Purañjaya, whose son was known as Kakutstha.
