मार्कंडेय उवाच उद्दधार ततः कन्यां मानिनीं नाम नामतः ॥ 90.
Markandeya said: Then he accepted the maiden, named Māninī, by name.
नद्याश्च पुलिने तस्मिन्स मुनिर्मुनिसत्तमाः 90.
On the bank of that river, the sage, foremost among sages, dwelt.
तस्यां तस्य सुतो जज्ञे महावीर्य्यो महाद्युतिः 90.
From her, his son was born, possessing great valor and brilliance.
इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे प्रम्लोचागमनं नाम नवतितमोऽध्यायः
Thus ends the ninetieth chapter, entitled 'The Coming of Pramlocā,' in the Ācāra Kāṇḍa of the first section of the glorious Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa.
स्वायम्भुवाद्या मुनयो हरिं ध्यायन्ति कर्मणा 91.
The sages, beginning with Svāyambhuva, meditate upon Hari through action.
देहेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिप्राणाहङ्कारवर्जितम् 91.
He is devoid of body, senses, mind, intellect, vital breath, and ego.
उदकेन विहीनं वै तद्धर्मपरिवर्जितम् 91.
He is without water, indeed, and devoid of all dharmic attributes.
भूताध्यक्षं तथा बद्धनियन्तारं प्रभुं विभुम् 91.
He is the overseer of beings, the bound controller, the lord, the all-pervading.
मुक्तसङ्गं महेशानं सर्वदेवप्रपूजितम् 91.
He is free from attachment, the great lord, worshipped by all the gods.
रहितं रजसा नित्यं व्यतिरिक्तं गुणैस्त्रिभिः 91.
He is perpetually free from passion, distinct from the three qualities.
वासनारहितं शुद्धं सर्वदोषविवर्जितम् 91.
He is without desires, pure, and devoid of all faults.
जरामरणहीनं वै कूटस्थं मोहवर्जितम् 91.
He is free from old age and death, immutable, and devoid of delusion.
सत्यं सर्वाचारहीनं निष्कलं परमेश्वरम् 91.
Truth itself, devoid of all conduct, indivisible, the Supreme Lord.
अध्यक्षं जाग्रदादीनां शान्तरूपं सुरेश्वरम् 91.
The overseer of waking and other states, of peaceful form, Lord of the gods.
सर्वदृष्टं तथा मूर्त्तं सूक्ष्मं सूक्ष्मतरं परम् 91.
Seen by all, yet embodied, subtle, subtler still, supreme.
विश्वेन रहितं तद्वत्तैजसेन विवर्जितम् 91.
Free from the universe, likewise untouched by brilliance.
सर्वगोप्तृ सर्वहन्तृ सर्वभूतात्मरूपि च 91.
Protector of all, destroyer of all, and the self of all beings.
विक्रियारहितं चैव वेदान्तैर्वेद्यमेव च 91.
Without change, and indeed knowable only through the Vedānta.
शब्देन वर्जितञ्चैव रसेन च विवर्जितम् 91.
Devoid of sound, and likewise devoid of taste.
रूपेण रहितञ्चैव गन्धेन परिवर्जितम् 91.
Devoid of form, and likewise devoid of scent.
एवं ज्ञात्वा महादेवध्यानं कुर्य्याज्जितेन्द्रियः 91.
Thus knowing, one with mastery over the senses should meditate on the Great God.
इति ध्यानं समाख्यातमश्विरस्य मया तव 91.
Thus the meditation of the horse has been described by me for you.

विष्णोर्ध्यानं पुनर्ब्रूहि शङ्खचक्रगदाधर 92.
Describe again the meditation on Viṣṇu, the bearer of conch, discus, and mace.
प्रवक्ष्यामि हरेर्ध्यानं मायातन्त्रविमर्दकम् 92.
I will declare the meditation on Hari, which destroys the web of illusion.
अमूर्त्तं रुद्र कथितं हन्त मूर्त्तं ब्रवीम्यहम् 92.
The formless Rudra has been spoken of; now I will tell of the embodied form.

With a great, precious crown, shining with jewels.
वनमालाधरः शुभ्रः समांसो हेमभूषणः 92.
Wearing a garland of forest flowers, radiant, with golden ornaments upon his shoulders.
