सूर्य्यादिपूजनं ब्रूहि कृतं स्वायम्भुवादिभिः 7.
Tell me about the worship of Surya and others, performed by Svāyambhuva and the rest.
ॐ सूर्य्यासनाय नमः ॐ ह्रां ह्रीं सः सूर्य्याय नमः ॐ मङ्गलाय नमः ॐ शुक्राय नमः ॐ राहवे नमः ॐ तेजश्चण्डाय नमः ।। 7.
Om, salutations to the seat of Surya; Om, hrām hrīm saḥ, salutations to Surya; Om, salutations to Maṅgala; Om, salutations to Śukra; Om, salutations to Rahu; Om, salutations to Teja and Caṇḍa.
आसनावाहनं पाद्यमर्घ्यमाचमनं तथा 7.
The seat, the invocation, the water for washing the feet, the offering of arghya, and likewise the water for sipping.
दीपकं च नस्कारं प्रदक्षिणविसर्ज्जने 7.
The lamp, the respectful salutation, and the circumambulation with dismissal.
ॐ ह्रांशिवाय नमः ॐ ह्रां हृदयाय नमः ॐ ह्रूं शिखायै वषट् ॐ ह्रौं नेत्रत्रयाय वौषट् ॐ ह्रां सद्योजातय नमः ॐ ह्रूं अघोराय नमः ॐ ह्रौं ईशानाय नमः ॐ ह्रौं गुरुभ्यो नमः ॐ ह्रौं चण्डाय नमः ॐ वासुदेवासनाय नमः ॐ अं ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय नमः ॐ अं ॐ नमो भगवते प्रद्युम्नाय नमः ॐ नारायणाय नमः ॐ ह्रां विष्णवे नमः ॐ भूः ॐ नमो भगवते वराहाय नमः ॐ जं खं रं सुदर्श नाय नमः ॐ वं लं मं क्षं पाञ्चजन्याय नमः ॐ गं डं वं सं पुष्ट्यै नमः ॐ सं दं लं श्रीवत्साय नमः ॐ गुरुभ्यो नमः ॐ विष्वक्सेनाय नमः ।। 7.
Om hrām, obeisance to Śiva; Om hrām, obeisance to the heart; Om hrūm, to the topknot, vaṣaṭ; Om hraum, to the three eyes, vauṣaṭ; Om hrām, obeisance to Sadyojāta; Om hrūm, obeisance to Aghora; Om hraum, obeisance to Īśāna; Om hraum, obeisance to the gurus; Om hraum, obeisance to Caṇḍa; Om, obeisance to the seat of Vāsudeva; Om aṃ om, obeisance to the blessed Vāsudeva; Om aṃ om, obeisance to the blessed Pradyumna; Om, obeisance to Nārāyaṇa; Om hrām, obeisance to Viṣṇu; Om bhūḥ om, obeisance to the blessed Varāha; Om jaṃ khaṃ raṃ, obeisance to Sudarśana; Om vaṃ laṃ maṃ kṣaṃ, obeisance to Pāñcajanya; Om gaṃ ḍaṃ vaṃ saṃ, obeisance to Puṣṭi; Om saṃ daṃ laṃ, obeisance to Śrīvatsa; Om, obeisance to the gurus; Om, obeisance to Viṣvaksena.
आसनादीन्हरेरतैर्मन्त्रैर्मन्त्रैर्दद्याद्वृषध्वज ! 7.
With these mantras, O bearer of the bull-banner, one should offer the seat and other items to Hari.
ॐ ह्रीं सरस्वत्यै नमः ॐ ह्रीं शिरसे नमः ॐ ह्रैं कवचाय नमः ॐ ह्रः अस्त्राय नमः ।। 7.
Om hrīm, obeisance to Sarasvatī; Om hrīm, obeisance to the head; Om hraim, to the armor; Om hrah, to the missile.
श्रद्धा ऋद्धिः कला मेधा तुष्टिः पुष्टिः प्रभा मतिः 7.
Faith, prosperity, art, intelligence, satisfaction, nourishment, radiance, and understanding.
क्षेत्रपालाय नमः ॐ परमगुरुभ्यो नमः ।। 7.
Obeisance to the guardian of the field; Om, obeisance to the supreme gurus.
पद्मस्थायाः सरस्वत्या आसनाद्यं प्रकल्पयेत् 7.
One should arrange the seat and other offerings for Sarasvatī, who is seated on a lotus.
भूमिष्ठे मण्डपे स्नात्वा मण्डले विष्णुमर्चयेत् 8.
Having bathed in a pavilion on the ground, one should worship Viṣṇu in the maṇḍala.
षोडशैः कोष्ठकैस्तत्र सम्मितं रुद्र ? कारयेत् 8.
There, with sixteen enclosures, one should construct the prescribed Rudra.
कोणसूत्रादुभयतः कोणा ये तत्र संस्थिताः 8.
From the corner threads on both sides, those who are situated at the corners there.
तदनन्तरकोणेषु एवमेव हि कारयेत् 8.
In the subsequent corners, one should arrange in the same manner.
अन्तरेषु च सर्वेषु अष्टौ चैव तुनाभयः 8.
And in all the spaces between, and also in the eight directions without fear.
अन्तरा स द्विजश्रेष्ठः पादोनं भ्रामयेद्धर ! 8.
In between, O best of twice-born, one should draw a circle less by a quarter, O Hari.
कर्णिकाया द्विभागेन केसराणि विचक्षणः 8.
With discernment, one should make the filaments of the central part in two divisions.
सर्वेषु नाभिक्षेत्रषु मानेनानेन सुव्रत ! 8.
In all the navel centers, O virtuous one, with this measure.
आदिसूत्रविभागेन द्वाराणि परिकल्पयेत् 8.
With the division of the initial threads, one should arrange the doors.
कर्णिकां पीतवर्णेन सितरक्तादिकेसरैः 8.
The central part should be yellow in color, with filaments of white, red, and other hues.
कृष्णवर्णेन रजसा चतुरश्रं प्रपूरयेत् 8.
He should fill the square with black-colored powder.
सिता रक्ता तथा पीता कृष्णा चैव यथाक्रमम् 8.
White, red, yellow, and black—these in order.
हृन्मध्ये तु न्यसेद्विष्णुं कण्ठे सङ्कर्षणं तथा 8.
He should place Viṣṇu in the center of the heart, and likewise Saṅkarṣaṇa at the throat.
ब्रह्माणं सर्वगात्रेषु करयोः श्रीधरं तथा 8.
He should place Brahmā in all the limbs, and Śrīdhara on the hands as well.
न्यसेत्सङ्कर्षणं पूर्वे प्रद्युम्नं चैव दक्षिणे 8.
He should place Saṅkarṣaṇa in the east, and Pradyumna in the south.
श्रीधरं रुद्रकोणेषु इन्द्रादीन्दिक्षु विन्यसेत् 8.
He should place Śrīdhara in the Rudra corners, and in the directions of Indra and the others.

At the proper time, the initiated disciple, with eyes bound and covered with cloth—
द्विगुणं पुत्रके होमं त्रिगुणं साधके मतम् 9.
The offering is to be doubled for a son, and tripled for a sādhaka, it is taught.
गुरुविष्णुद्विजस्त्रीणां हन्ता बध्यस्त्व(श्च)दीक्षितैः 9.
One who kills a guru, Viṣṇu, a twice-born, or a woman is to be bound by the initiated.
उपवेश्य बहिः शिष्यान्धारणं तेषु कारयेत् 9.
Having seated the disciples outside, he should make them undertake the observance.
