For him, there is no fear from the creepers or trees, nor do the lords of the land mock him.
पितॄतर्पणे पितॄणां तृप्तिर्बहुवार्षिकी भवति सलिलाग्निवैरितस्करभयानि भीमानि नश्यन्ति ॥ 76.
When offered in ancestral rites, the ancestors are satisfied for many years; the dreadful fears of water, fire, enemies, and thieves are destroyed.
शैवलबलाहकाभं पुरुषं पीतप्रभं प्रभाहीनम् 76.
A person who is dark like moss or a rain cloud, with a yellowish hue and lacking luster—
मूल्यं प्रकल्प्यमेषां विबुधवरैर्दैशकालविज्ञानात् 76.
The price of these should be determined by learned experts, according to place and time.

With varied forms like conch, lotus, bee, and sun, strung on threads, they are supreme and pure.
काका (क.) श्वरासभसृगालवृकोग्ररूपैर्गृध्रैः समांसरुधिरार्द्रमुखैरुपेताः 77.
Accompanied by crows, jackals, wolves, and fierce forms like vultures, with faces wet with flesh and blood—

मध्येन्दुपाण्डुरमतीव विशुद्धवर्णं तच्चेन्द्रनीलसदृशं पटलं तुले स्यात् 78.
Its middle is moon-white, exceedingly pure in color; that layer should resemble the hue of a sapphire.

न त्तुल्यं हि रत्नानामथवा पापनाशनम् 79.
Indeed, it is not equal to other gems, though it destroys sin.

तत्र प्रधानं शशलोहिताभं गुञ्जाजवापुष्पनिभं प्रदिष्टम् 80.
—there, the foremost is prescribed as resembling rabbit's blood or the color of the guñjā or jaba flower.
अन्यत्र जातं च न तत्प्रधानं मूल्यं भवेच्छिल्पिविशेषयोगात् 80.
That which is produced elsewhere is not considered foremost; its value depends on special craftsmanship.
धनधान्यकरं लोके विषार्त्तिभयनाशनम् स्फटिकस्य विद्रुमस्य रत्नज्ञानाय शौनक ! ॥ 80.
It brings wealth and grain in the world, removes the fear of poison and affliction; this is the knowledge of crystal and coral gems, O Shaunaka!

गङ्गाद्वारे प्रयागे च गङ्गासागरसङ्गमे 81.
At Gangadvara, at Prayaga, and at the confluence of Ganga and the ocean—
सेवनात्कृतपिण्डानां पापजित्कामदं नृणाम् 81.
—by serving there and offering ancestral cakes, one gains the fulfillment of desires and the conquest of sin for men.
कुरुक्षेत्रं परं तीर्थं दानाद्यैर्भुक्तिमुक्तिदम् 81.
Kurukshetra is the supreme ford, granting enjoyment and liberation through gifts and other rites.
द्वारका च पुरी रम्या भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायिका 81.
And Dvaraka, the beautiful city, bestows both enjoyment and liberation.
केदारं सर्वपापघ्नं स (श) म्भलग्राम उत्तमः 81.
Kedara destroys all sins; Shambhala village is excellent.
श्वेतद्वीपं पुरी माया नैमिषं पुष्करं परम् 81.
Shvetadvipa, the city of Maya, Naimisha, and the supreme Pushkara.
