शान्तिमुक्त्यर्थसिद्ध्यै च इडा योज्या नराधिपैः 67.
For the attainment of peace, liberation, and success, Iḍā should be employed by rulers of men.
विषवत्तं तु जानीयात्संस्मरेत्तु विचक्षणः 67.
One should know it to be like poison; the wise should remember this.
गमनागमने चैव वामा सर्वत्र पूजिता 67.
In going and coming, the left is always honored everywhere.
प्रशस्ता दक्षिणा नाडी प्रवेशे क्षुद्रकर्मणि 67.
The right channel is praised for entry and for minor actions.
जीवाजीवाय यत्पृच्छेन्न सिध्यति च मध्यमा 67.
If one inquires about life or death, the central one does not succeed.
तनुस्थः पृच्छते यस्तु तत्र सिद्धिर्न संशयः 67.
But if one asks while established in the body, there is no doubt of success.
तत्र भागे स्थितः पृच्छेत्सिद्धिर्भवति निष्फला 67.
If one inquires while situated in that part, success is fruitless.
घोरे घोराणि कार्य्याणि सौम्ये वै मध्यमानि च 67.
In terrible matters, the terrible is to be done; in gentle matters, the gentle.
तदा मृत्युं विजानीयाद्योगी योगविशारदः 67.
Then the yogi skilled in yoga should recognize death.
तत्र तत्र समं दिश्याद्वातस्योदयनं सदा 67.
In each case, one should always direct the arising of the wind equally.
वामेन वामिका प्रोक्ता दक्षिणे दक्षिणा शुभा 67.
The left channel is called the left, and the right is the auspicious right.
जीवो जीवति जीवेन यच्छून्यं तस्त्वरो भवेत् 67.
Life lives by means of life; where there is emptiness, haste arises.
तत्सर्वं पूर्णनाड्यां तु जायते निर्विकल्पतः 67.
All this arises without distinction in the full channel.
यावत्षष्ठी तु पृच्छायां पूर्णायां प्रथमो जयेत् 67.
As long as the sixty-fourth inquiry is in the full channel, the first prevails.
वामाचारसमो वायुर्जायते कर्मसिद्धिदः 67.
The wind that follows the left-hand path grants success in action.
अन्यत्र वामवाहे तु नाम वै विषमाक्षरम् 67.
Elsewhere, if the left channel flows, the syllable is considered irregular.
दक्षवातप्रवाहे तु यदि नाम समाक्षरम् 67.
If, in the flow of the right channel, the syllable is regular.
पिङ्गलान्तर्गते प्राणे शमनीयाहवं जयेत् 67.
When the breath enters the Piṅgalā, one should accomplish the pacifying rite.
न दातुं जायते सोऽपि नात्र कार्य्या विचारणा 67.
It does not arise to be given; here, no deliberation is needed.
सा दिशा जयमाप्नोति शून्ये भंगं विनिर्दिशेत् 67.
That direction attains victory; in emptiness, one should indicate a break.
जयं पराजयं चैव यो जानाति स पण्डितः 67.
He who knows victory and defeat is wise.
कृत्वा तत्पदमाप्नोति यात्रा सन्ततशोभना 67.
Having done that, one attains the goal; the journey is always auspicious.
यस्तु पृच्छति तत्रस्थः स साधुर्जयतिध्रुवम् 67.
But he who inquires while present there is certainly successful.
जायते नात्र सन्देह हन्द्रो यद्यग्रतः स्थितः 67.
There is no doubt that success arises if the questioner stands in front.
चरेस्थिरे तद्विमार्गे तादृशेतादृशे क्रमात् 67.
If moving or unmoving, one should proceed accordingly, step by step.
पृच्छकस्य वचः श्रुत्वा घण्टाकारेण लक्षयेत् 67.
Having heard the words of the questioner, one should mark them with a bell sound.
ऊर्द्ध्वेऽग्निरध आपश्च तिर्य्यक्संस्थः प्रभञ्जनः 67.
Above is fire, below is water, and the wind is situated across.
ऊर्द्ध्वे मृत्युरधः शान्तिस्तिर्य्यक् चोच्चाटयेत्सुधीः 67.
Above is death, below is peace, and across, the wise should perform expulsion.
