नन्दनो विजयश्चैव जयो मन्मथदुर्मुखौ 66.

Nandana, Vijaya, Jaya, Manmatha, and Durmukha,

शुभकृच्छोभनः क्रोधी विश्वावमुपराभवौ 66.

Shubhakrit, Shobhana, Krodhi, Vishvava, and Uparabhava,

परिधावी प्रमादी च आनन्दो राक्षसो नलः 66.

Paridhavi, Pramadi, Ananda, Rakshasa, and Nala.

दुन्दुभी रुधिरोद्गारी रक्ताक्षः क्रोधनोऽक्षयः 66.

Dundubhi, the one who utters cries in battle, red-eyed, wrathful, and inexhaustible.

कालं वक्ष्यामि संसिद्ध्यै रुद्र पञ्चस्वरोदयात् 66.

I will speak of time for accomplishment, O Rudra, after the rise of the five sounds.

आ ई ऊ ऐ औ स्वरांश्च लिखेत्पञ्चाग्निकोष्ठके 66.

One should write the vowels ā, ī, ū, ai, au in the five fire chambers.

तिथी एकाग्निकोष्ठेषु त्रयो राजाथ सा (मा) जयाः 66.

The lunar days, in the single fire chambers, are three: the king, and the victorious ones.

गुरुशुक्रौ च मन्दश्च रविचन्द्रौ यथोदितम् 66.

Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, as well as the Sun and Moon, as previously described.

पञ्चपञ्चान्यत्र भानि चैत्राद्य उदयस्तथा 66.

Elsewhere, five sets of five lights, and likewise the rising from Caitra onward.

कलालिङ्गा च या तिष्ठेत्पञ्चमस्तस्य वै मृतिः 66.

Where the sign of time stands, the fifth of that is indeed death.

नामोदयस्य पूर्वं च तथा भवति नान्यथा 66.

The name and the rising must be in the beginning; thus it happens, not otherwise.

क्षामाद्यङ्गशिवामीक्षा विषग्रहमतिर्हर 66.

Beginning with Kṣāma, the auspicious limbs are examined; poison, seizure, and intellect are removed.

मृत्युञ्जयो गणो लक्ष्मी रोचनाद्यैस्तु लेखितः 66.

The group of Mrityunjaya, Lakshmi, and others beginning with Rocana are written.

इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे ज्योतिः शास्त्रे शालग्रामषष्ट्यूब्दस्वरोदयानां निरूपणं नाम षट्षष्टितमोऽध्यायः इति

Thus, in the glorious Garuda Mahapurana, in the Purva Khanda, in the section called Prathama, in the conduct chapter, in the science of astrology, the sixty-sixth chapter named 'Determination of the rising of the sixty years of Shalagrama' is concluded.

हरेः श्रुत्वा हरो गौरीं देहस्थं ज्ञानमब्रवीत् ॥ 67.

Having heard from Hari, Hara spoke to Gauri the knowledge residing in the body.

कुजो वह्नी रविः पृथ्वी सौरिरापः प्रकीर्त्तितः 67.

Mars, fire, the Sun, earth, Saturn, and water are declared.

गुरुः शुक्रस्तथा सौम्यश्चन्द्रश्चैव चतुर्थकः 67.

Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury, and the Moon as the fourth.

यदाचर इलायुक्तस्तदा कर्मसमाचरेत् 67.

When one acts with Ila, then one should perform the actions accordingly.

अन्यानि शुभकर्माणि कारयेत प्रयत्नतः 67.

One should diligently cause other auspicious actions to be performed.

इनश्चैव तथाप्येव पापानामुदयो भवेत् 67.

Likewise, even so, the rise of the inauspicious occurs.

देहमध्ये स्थिता नाड्यो बहुरूपाः सुविस्तराः 67.

The channels situated in the middle of the body are manifold and extensive.

द्विसप्ततिसहस्त्राणि नाभिमध्ये व्यवस्थिते 67.

Seventy-two thousand are established within the navel center.

तासां मध्ये त्रयः श्रेष्ठा वामदक्षिणमध्यमाः 67.

Among them, three are foremost: the left, the right, and the central.

मध्यमा च भवेदग्निः फलंती कालपूरिणी 67.

The central one is said to be fire, fruitful and filled with time.

दक्षिणा रौद्रभागेन जगच्छोषयते सदा 67.

The right one, with a fierce aspect, always dries up the world.

निर्गमे तु भवेद्वामा प्रवेशे दक्षिणा स्मृता 67.

At exit, the left is active; at entry, the right is known.

कारयेत्क्रूर कर्माणि प्राणे पिंगलसंस्थिते 67.

When the breath is established in Piṅgalā, it produces cruel actions.

भोजने मैथुने युद्धे पिंगला सिद्धिदायिका 67.

In eating, in sexual union, in battle, Piṅgalā grants success.

मैथुने चैव संग्रामे भोजने सिद्धिदायिका 67.

In sexual union, in combat, and in eating, it bestows accomplishment.
