कनिष्ठिकां समाश्रित्य मध्यमायामुपागता 63.

Resting on the little finger, if it reaches the middle finger,

इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे ज्योतिः शास्त्रे सामुद्रिके पुँल्लक्षणनिरूपणं नाम त्रिषष्टितमोऽध्यायः

Thus ends the sixty-third chapter, named 'Description of the Signs on the Body,' in the section on conduct, in the science of astrology, in the Purva-khanda of the great Garuda Purana.

यस्यास्तु कुञ्चिताः केशा मुखं च परिमण्डलम् 64.

She whose hair is curly and whose face is round,

या च काञ्चनवर्णाभा रक्तहस्तसरोरुहा 64.

She who has a golden complexion and lotus-like red hands,

वक्रकेशा च या कन्या मण्डलाक्षी च या भवेत् 64.

A maiden with wavy hair and round eyes,

पूर्णचन्द्रमुखी कन्या बालसूर्य्यसमप्रभा 64.

A maiden whose face is like the full moon, radiant like the rising sun,

रेखाभिर्बहुभिः क्लेशं स्वल्पाभिर्धनहीनता 64.

Many lines bring trouble; few lines indicate lack of wealth.

कार्य्ये च मन्त्री सत्स्त्री स्यात्सती (खी) स्यात्करणेषु च 64.

In action, a woman is a counselor; in virtue, she is chaste; in deeds, she is skilled.

अङ्कुशं कुण्डलं चक्रं यस्याः पाणितले भवेत् 64.

She who has an elephant goad, an earring, or a discus on her palm,

यस्यास्तु रोमशौ पार्श्वौ रोमशौ च पयोधरौ 64.

She whose sides are covered with hair, and whose breasts are also hairy,

यस्याः पाणितले रेखा प्राकारस्तोरणं भवेत् 64.

She whose palm lines form the shape of a rampart and gateway,

उद्वृत्ता कपिला यस्य रोमराजी निरन्तरम् 64.

She whose hairline is raised, tawny, and unbroken throughout,

यस्या अनामिकाङ्गुष्ठौ पृथिव्यां नैव तिष्ठतः 64.

She whose ring finger and thumb do not touch the ground,

यस्या गमनमात्रेण भूमिकम्पः प्रजायते 64.

She by whose mere walking the earth trembles,

चक्षुः स्नेहेन सौभाग्यं दन्तस्नेहेन भोजनम् 64.

From the moistness of the eyes comes good fortune; from the moistness of the teeth, enjoyment of food.

स्निग्धोन्नतौ ताम्रनखौ नार्याश्च चरणौ शुभौ 64.

A woman's feet are auspicious when her nails are glossy and reddish, and her feet are elevated and smooth.

अस्वेदिनौ मूदुतलौ प्रशस्तौ चरणौ स्त्रियाः 64.

A woman's feet are praised when they do not sweat, have soft soles, and are gentle.

अश्वत्थपत्रसदृशं विपुलं गुह्यमुत्तमम् अरोमा त्रिवली नार्य्या हृत्स्तनौ रोमवर्जितौ ॥ 64.

Her private parts are excellent, broad, and like the leaf of a sacred fig tree; her abdomen and breasts are free from hair, and she has three folds without hair.

इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे ज्योतिः शास्त्रे सामुद्रिके स्त्रीलक्षणनिरूपणं नाम चतुः षष्टितमोऽध्यायः

Thus ends the sixty-fourth chapter, named 'The Description of Women's Marks,' in the section on conduct, in the science of physiognomy, in the first part of the great Purāṇa called Śrī Garuḍa.

समुद्रोक्तं प्रवक्ष्यामि नरस्त्रीलक्षणं शुभम् 65.

I shall now declare, as spoken by Samudra, the auspicious marks of men and women.

अस्वेदिनौ मृदुतलौ कमलोदरसन्निभौ 65.

Their feet do not sweat, their soles are soft, and they resemble the interior of a lotus.

कूर्मोन्नतौ गूढगुल्फौ सुपार्ष्णो नृपतेः स्मृतौ 65.

Their ankles are raised like a tortoise, their heels are concealed, and their heels are well-formed, as remembered for a king.

संशुष्कौ पाण्डुरनखौ निः स्वस्य विरलाङ्गुली 65.

Their feet are dry, their nails pale, their toes are sparse and not close together.

विच्छित्तिदौ च वंशस्य ब्रह्मन्घौ शङ्कु (पक्र) सन्निभौ 65.

Their shanks are uneven, their bones are like bamboo, and their calves are shaped like a conch or wedge.

मृदुरोमा समा जङ्घा तथा करिकरप्रभा 65.

Their thighs are covered with soft hair, are even, and shine like those of an elephant.

निः स्वस्य सृगालजङ्घा रौमैकैकं चकूपके 65.

Those whose thighs are hairless like a jackal's, with only one or two hairs at the root,

त्र्याद्यैर्निः स्वा मानवाः स्युर्दुः स्वभाजश्च निन्दिताः 65.

Men who lack these marks from the beginning are considered unfortunate and censured.

निर्मांसजानुः सौभाग्यमल्पैर्निम्नै रतिः स्त्रियाः 65.

A person with fleshless knees has little fortune, and a woman's pleasure is low with such a one.

महद्भिरायुराख्यातं ह्यल्पलिङ्गो धनी नरः 65.

It is said that those with large thighs have long life, while a man with a small organ is wealthy.
