विन्ध्यश्च पारियात्रश्च सप्तात्र कुलपर्वताः 55.
Here are the seven chief mountains: Vindhya, Pariyatra, and others.
तापी पयोष्णी सरयूः कावेरी गोमती तथा 55.
Tapti, Payoshni, Sarayu, Kaveri, and Gomati are among the rivers.
केतुमाला ताम्रपर्णो चन्द्रभागा सरस्वती 55.
Ketumala, Tamraparni, Chandrabhaga, and Sarasvati are also rivers.
विदर्भा च शतद्रूश्च नद्यः पापहराः शुभाः 55.
Vidarbha and Shatadru, and other auspicious rivers, remove sin.
पाञ्चालाः कुरवो मत्स्या यौधेयाः सपटच्चराः 55.
The Panchalas, the Kurus, the Matsyas, the Yaudheyas, together with the Pataccaras,
वृषध्वज ! जनाः पाद्माः सूतमागधचेदयः 55.
O bearer of the bull-banner! The Padmas, the Sutas, the Magadhas, and the Chedis,
कलिंगवंगपुण्ड्रांगा वैदर्भा मूलकास्तथा 55.
The Kalingas, Vangas, Pundras, Angas, the Vaidarbhas, and likewise the Mulakas,
पुलन्दाश्मकजीमूतनयराष्ट्रनिवासिनः 55.
The Pulindas, Ashmakas, Jīmūtas, and the inhabitants of the Naya and Rashtra regions,
अम्बष्ठद्रविडा लाटाः काम्बोजाः स्त्रीमुखाः शकाः 55.
The Ambasthas, Dravidas, Latas, Kambojas, Strimukhas, and the Shakas,
स्त्रीराज्याः सैन्धवा म्लेच्छा नास्ति का यवनास्तथा 55.
The Strirajya people, the Saindhavas, the Mlecchas, the Nastikas, and likewise the Yavanas,
माण्डव्याश्च तुषाराश्च मूलिकाश्वमुखाः खशाः 55.
The Mandavyas, the Tusharas, the Mulikas, the Ashvamukhas, and the Khashas,
लम्ब (म्पा) का स्तननागाश्च माद्रगान्धारबाह्लिकाः 55.
The Lambas, the Stananagas, the Madrakas, Gandharas, and Bahlikas,
त्रिगर्त्तनीलकोलात (भ) ब्रह्मपुत्राः सटङ्कणाः 55.
The Trigartas, Nilas, Kolas, Brahmaputras, and the Satankanas,
इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे भुवनकोशवर्णनं नाम पञ्चपञ्चाशत्तमोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the glorious Garuda Mahapurana, in the Purva-khanda, in the section called Achara-kanda, this is the fifty-fifth chapter, named 'Description of the Bhuvanakosha.'
सप्त मेधातिथेः पुत्राः प्लक्षद्वीपेश्वरस्य च 56.
There were seven sons of Medhatithi, the lord of Plaksha-dvipa,
सुखोदयस्तथा नन्दः शिवः क्षेमक एव च 56.
Sukhodaya, Nanda, Shiva, and also Kṣemaka,
गोमेदश्चैव चन्द्रश्च नारदो दुन्दुभिस्तथा 56.
Gomeda, Chandra, Narada, and likewise Dundubhi,
अनुतप्ता शिखी चैव विपाशा त्रिदिवा क्रमुः 56.
Anutapta and Shikhi, and also Vipasha, went to heaven in order.
वपुष्मान्शाल्मलस्येशस्तत्सुता वर्षनामकाः 56.
Vapushman, the lord of Shalmala, had sons named after regions.
वैद्युतो मानसश्चैव सप्रभशाचपि सप्तमः 56.
Vaidyuta, Manasa, and Saprabhasa were the seventh as well.
क्रौञ्चः ककुद्मान्ह्येते वै गिरयः सरितस्त्विमाः 56.
Krauncha and Kakudman—these are indeed mountains, and these are the rivers.
विधृतिः सप्तमी तासां स्मृताः पापप्रशान्तिदाः 56.
Vidhriti is remembered as the seventh among them, bestowing the cessation of sin.
उद्भिदो वेणुमांश्चैव द्वैरथो लम्बनो धृतिः 56.
Udbhida, Veṇumān, Dvairatha, Lambana, and Dhṛti.
विद्रुमो हेमशैलश्च द्युतिमान्पुष्पवांस्तथा 56.
Vidruma, Hemashaila, Dyutimat, and also Puṣpavān.
धूतपापा शिवा चैव पवित्रा सन्मतिस्तथा 56.
Dhūtapāpā, Śivā, Pavitrā, and likewise Sanmati.
क्रौञ्चद्वीपे द्युतिमतः पुत्राः सप्त महात्मनः 56.
On Krauncha-dvīpa are the seven sons of the great-souled Dyutimat.
मुनिश्च दुन्दुभिश्चैव सप्तैते तत्सुता हर 56.
Muni and Dundubhi—these seven are his sons, O Hara.
दिवावृत्पञ्चमश्चान्यो दुन्दुभिः पुण्डरीकवान् 56.
Another, the fifth, is Divāvṛt; Dundubhi is Puṇḍarīkavān.
ख्यातिश्च पुण्डरीका च सप्तैता वर्षनिम्नगाः 56.
Khyāti and Puṇḍarīkā—these seven are the rivers of the land.
जलद्श्च कुमारश्च सुकुमारोरुणी बकः 56.
Jalada, Kumāra, Sukumāra, Oruṇī, and Baka.
