इत्थं कृतेन मानेन बाह्यभागविनिर्गतम् 47.
Thus, with the measurement made, the outer portion is determined.
गर्भं तु द्विगुणं कुर्य्यान्नेम्या मानं भवेदिह 47.
The inner chamber should be made twice as large; the measurement here is by the rim.
प्रासादानां च वक्ष्यामि मानं योनिं च मानतः 47.
I will now explain the measurement and origin of palaces according to their proportions.
त्रिविष्टपं च पञ्चैते प्रासादाः सर्वयोनयः 47.
There are five types of palaces, including Triviṣṭapa; all are of various origins.
वृत्तो वृत्तायतश्चान्योऽष्टाश्रश्चेह च पञ्चमः 47.
One is circular, another is elongated, and the fifth here is octagonal.
सर्वप्रकृतिभूतेभ्यश्चत्वारिंशत्तथैव च 47.
From all the fundamental elements, there are likewise forty forms.
भद्रकः सर्वता भद्रो रुचको नन्दनस्तथा 47.
Bhadraka, Sarvata, Bhadra, Rucaka, and likewise Nandana.
चतुरश्राः समुद्भूता वैराजादिति गम्यताम् 47.
The quadrangular ones arise, known as Vairāja—let this be understood.
विमानं च तथा ब्रह्ममन्दिरं भवनं तथा 47.
Likewise, the vimāna, the Brahma-temple, and also the mansion.
वलयो दुन्दुभिः पद्मो महापद्मस्तथापरः 47.
The bracelet, the drum, the lotus, and another called the great lotus.
गुवावृक्षस्तथान्यश्च वृत्ताः कैलाशसम्भवाः 47.
The guvā tree, and another as well, circular, originating from Kailāsa.
भूमुखो भूधरश्चैव श्रीजयः पृथिवीधरः 47.
Bhūmukha, Bhūdhara, Śrījaya, and Pṛthivīdhara.
वज्रं चक्रं तथान्यच्च मुष्टिकं वभ्रुसंज्ञितम् 47.
The thunderbolt, the discus, and another called Muṣṭika and Vabhrusaṃjñita.
विजयो नामतः श्वेतस्त्रिविष्टिपसमुद्भवाः 47.
Vijaya by name, white in color, arising from Triviṣṭipa.
यत्र तत्र विधातव्यं संस्थानं मण्डपस्य तु 47.
Wherever it may be, the form of the pavilion should be established.
पुत्रलाभः स्त्रियः पुष्टिस्त्रिकोणादिक्रमाद्भवेत् 47.
The attainment of sons, women, and prosperity comes from the sequence beginning with the triangle.
मण्डपः समसंख्याभिर्गुणितः सूत्रकस्तथा 47.
The pavilion, multiplied by equal numbers, and likewise the measuring cord.
स्पर्धागवाक्षकोपेतो निर्गवाक्षोऽथ वा भवेत् 47.
It may be furnished with windows or, alternatively, without windows.
भित्तेर्द्वैगुण्यतो वापि कर्त्तव्या मण्डपाः क्वचित् 47.

शतश्रृङ्गसमायुक्तो मेरुः प्रासाद उत्तमः 47.
Meru, the best palace, is endowed with a hundred peaks.
गठनाकारमानानां भिन्नाभिन्ना भवन्ति ते 47.
Their forms and measurements are of various kinds, both distinct and indistinct.
प्रतिच्छन्दकभेदेन प्रासादाः सम्भवन्ति ते 47.
Temples arise in various forms according to differences in their coverings.
देवतानां विशेषाय प्रासादा बहवः स्मृताः 47.
Many temples are described for the special worship of the deities.
तानेव देवतानां च पूर्वमानेन कारयेत् 47.
One should construct these for the deities according to the ancient measurements.
चन्द्रशालान्विता कार्य्या भेरीशिखरसंयुता 47.
They should be made with moon-chambers and adorned with bheri-towers.
नाट्यशाला च कर्त्तव्या द्वारदेशसमाश्रया 47.
A theater hall should also be constructed, situated near the entrance.
द्वारपालाश्च कर्त्तव्या मुख्या गत्वा पृथक् पृथक् 47.
Doorkeepers should be made, principal ones, placed separately at each entrance.
प्रावृता जगती कार्य्या फलपुष्पजलान्विता वासुदेवः सर्वदेवः सर्वभाक् तद्गृहादिकृत् ।। 47.
A covered terrace should be made, furnished with fruits, flowers, and water; Vāsudeva, the Lord of all, the enjoyer of all, is the one for whom such a house is made.
प्रतिष्ठां सर्वदेवानां संक्षेपेण वदाम्यहम् 48.
