Your family deity, O great-souled one, where has he fled? Tell me that. Having worshipped the hair ornaments of widows with their own hair—
While the strong messengers of Yama stand by, and you are beaten with pestles and clubs, then, where has she fled, deprived of her hair, having made her ears hang down?
Holding a bamboo vessel in your left hand and a lamp in your right, O deluded one, going house to house for alms, while the goddess remains in your own house—
Then, O deluded one, when you are thoroughly burned by a thousand lamps by Yama's messengers, where has noseless Renuka fled? Tell me where she is.
Always, O deluded one, having worshipped the sword-god with devotion, and having honored him as a devotee, you, together with them, barking like dogs, remain constantly in your own house.
Then, when you are thoroughly beaten by Yama's messengers, making a noise there, while the best devotee remains, then where has that god fled?
Having worshipped the image resembling Bhimasena with the five nectars, and having given only a little food in a fine vessel, the deluded one remains in his own house.
