Even the four-faced one is not able to describe it fully. Those who perform supreme devotion daily on Vyaṅkaṭādri, their legs become like those of a lotus, and their eyes like those of a lotus-eyed one.
The mute becomes eloquent, the deaf becomes a hearer; the barren woman becomes mother of many children, and the poor becomes wealthy.
All this is certainly attained on the mountain by devotion alone; but who on earth truly knows the real nature of Vyaṅkaṭādri?
Whoever knows the sacred greatness of this mountain, leaving behind even the illusory supreme bliss and the highest Vaikuṇṭha, rejoices with Lakṣmī on the bank of Svāmipuṣkariṇī.
Salutations to you, Śrīnivāsa, the illustrious Lord of Vyaṅkaṭa, whose form is auspicious and wondrous, who grants the desired objects.
O maiden, listen to the greatness of Śrīsvāmipuṣkariṇī; in the midst of Svāmipuṣkariṇī, Śrīnivāsa is always present.
Those who bathe there have liberation in their grasp; three crore and ten crore sacred waters of the three worlds are all always present at that holy place of Hari.
That holy place, known as Śrīnivāsa, is worshipped by all the gods; it is declared to be the very temple of Śrīnivāsa.
O maiden, by merely seeing that place, sins are reduced to ashes; with even a single bath, one surely attains the company of the virtuous.
From the company of the virtuous, knowledge arises; from knowledge, liberation is attained; so it is for those who are qualified, but the opposite for the unfit.
Those who think that liberation is attained merely by bathing in holy waters—all such are to be known as demons; they go to a degraded state.
O maiden, in this holy place of Śrīnivāsa, at the corner of the wind, Vāyu always remains, performing the supreme worship of Viṣṇu.
That is called Vāyutīrtha, at a distance of twelve hand-lengths; in the west, it is measured as six hand-lengths, and in the north, six hand-lengths is known as Vāyutīrtha.
Those who are foremost among Vaiṣṇavas and their servants, O good maiden, first bathe there; Śrīnivāsa always dwells in the midst, may the compassionate one be pleased with my bath here.
O goddess, those great ones devoted to Vāyu, such as Rudra and others, always bathe there at Madhvatīrtha, wishing to bathe, and do so every morning before sunrise.
Those who discharge bodily impurities—urine, vomit, phlegm—at Vāyutīrtha, and those who perform purification of the lower and generative organs there, O maiden, are indeed demons and rākṣasas.
O goddess, what need is there to describe the merit of those who listen to the Bhāgavata Purāṇa? Those who recite the eight-syllabled secret mantra of Kṛṣṇa, O goddess—
For them, Hari, Keśava, who dwells in the midst, is pleased—there is no doubt of this; likewise, those who give gifts there to the best of twice-born Vaiṣṇavas and the learned.
Even the gods do not know the merit of such people; only Śrīnivāsa Hari knows. Those who offer a Śālagrāma at Vāyutīrtha—the Lord of Vyaṅkaṭa knows their merit.
O goddess, the anointing at Vāyutīrtha with desireless mind is extremely rare for Vaiṣṇavas; even there, by the conjunction of fortune, the hearing of the Bhāgavata by the servants of Viṣṇu is attained.
In the same way, O Goddess, it is rare at that holy place to give a Śālagrāma stone to an excellent Brahmin—one that is shaped like a jambu fruit, of deep blue color, with two mouths and four discs.
It is said by the great ones that the form of Janārdana adorned with beautiful hair, marked with golden symbols and banners, with blades of kuśa grass, thunderbolt marks, and barley grains, is rare to give as a gift at that holy place.
O blessed one, the giving of such an excellent form is extremely rare and supreme; there should be no greed here. The donation of cows that yield much milk, as well as of cloth, jewels, and the like, is also very rare.
O Goddess, the giving of excellent wealth is said by the great ones to be that which is desired by oneself. The giving of fruit, or of cloth, that is not desired by oneself, is said by the great ones to be fruitless.
The giving of excellent cows is most meritorious, but cows that do not yield milk are not praised. Among people, the resolve to give the best cloth is extremely difficult to attain.
O maiden, the giving of a devotee's scripture is most excellent, and going to the Vāyu tīrtha is extremely difficult. O Goddess, the giving of excellent wealth is most excellent, and going to the Vāyu tīrtha is extremely difficult for people. The investigation of Hari by those who know the Vaiṣṇava truth is very rare at the Vāyu tīrtha, O maiden.
On the northern side of the holy place of Śrīnivāsa is what is called Candratīrtha, where the moon always resides.
Standing there, one performs worship of Śrīnivāsa; and, O maiden, people bathe there in that sacred place.
There is no doubt that by bathing there, one is freed from sins such as guru-talpā (the sin of violating the teacher's bed). Whoever gives a Śālagrāma stone there in the eastern part—
Through knowledge, one attains liberation—there is no need for further inquiry. The giving of the Dadhivāmana form there is extremely rare.
