Om, Hām, obeisance to thirst.
ॐ हां ईशानाय नमः ॐ हां अङ्गदायै नमः ॐ हां मरीच्यै नमः ईशानस्य कलाः पञ्च जानीहि वृषभध्वज ।। 40.
Om, Hām, obeisance to Īśāna. Om, Hām, obeisance to Aṅgadā. Om, Hām, obeisance to Marīcī. Know that the aspects of Īśāna are five, O bearer of the bull.
ॐ हां शिवपरिवारेभ्यो नमः ॐ हां अग्नये तेजोऽधिपतये नमः ॐ हां निर्ऋतये रक्षोऽधिपतये नमः ॐ हां वायवे प्राणाधिपतये नमः ॐ हां ईशानाय सर्वविद्याधिपतये नमः ॐ हां ब्रह्मणे सर्वलोकाधिपतये नमः 40.
Om, Hām, obeisance to the attendants of Śiva. Om, Hām, obeisance to Agni, lord of brilliance. Om, Hām, obeisance to Nirṛti, lord of spirits. Om, Hām, obeisance to Vāyu, lord of breath. Om, Hām, obeisance to Īśāna, lord of all knowledge. Om, Hām, obeisance to Brahmā, lord of all worlds.
आवाहनं स्थापनं सन्निधानं च शङ्कर 40.
Invocation, installation, and presence, O Śaṅkara.
तत्त्वन्यासं च मुद्राया दर्शनं ह्यानमेव च 40.
The placement of principles, the showing of the gesture, and indeed the salutation.
तत उद्वर्त्तनं स्नानं सुगन्धं चानुलेपनम् 40.
Then anointing, bathing, and fragrant unguents.
दीपं नैवेद्यदानं च हस्तोद्वर्त्तनमेव च 40.
The lamp, the offering of food, and the anointing of the hands as well.
नृत्यं छत्रादिकरणं मुद्राणां दर्शनं तता 40.
Dance, the use of umbrella and other implements, and the showing of gestures as well.
मूलमन्त्रेण वै कुर्य्याज्जपपूजासमर्पणम् 40.
With the root-mantra, one should perform recitation, worship, and offering.
इति श्रीगारुडे महापुराणे पूर्वखण्डे प्रथमांशाख्ये आचारकाण्डे महेश्वरपूजाविधिर्नाम चत्वारिंशोऽध्यायः
Thus, in the Śrī Garuḍa Mahāpurāṇa, in the First Section of the Eastern Part, in the Conduct Section, the fortieth chapter named 'The Procedure for Worship of Maheśvara' is concluded.
ॐ विश्वावसुर्नाम गन्धर्वः कन्यानामधिपतिर्लभामि ते कन्यां समुत्पाद्य तस्मै विश्ववासवे स्वाहा 41.
Om, Viśvāvasu by name, the Gandharva, lord of maidens—I obtain your maiden, having produced her; to that Viśvāvasu, svāhā.
ॐ नमो भगवति ऋक्षकर्णि चतुर्भुजे ऊर्द्ध्वकेशि त्रिनयने कालरात्रि मानुषाणां वसारुधिरभोजने अमुकस्य प्राप्तकालस्य मृत्युप्रदे हुं फट् हनहन दहदह मांसरुधिरं पचपच ऋक्षपत्नि स्वाहा । न तिथिर्न च नक्षत्रं नोपवासो विधीयते ।। 41.
Om, obeisance to the blessed one, Ṛkṣakarṇī, four-armed, with hair upright, three-eyed, Kālarātri, who eats the flesh and blood of humans; for so-and-so, whose time has come, giver of death—hūṃ phaṭ, strike, strike, burn, burn, cook the flesh and blood; to Ṛkṣapatnī, svāhā. No lunar day, no constellation, no fast is prescribed.
क्रुद्धो रक्तेन संमार्ज्य करौ ताभ्यां प्रगृह्य च ॐ नमः सर्वतोयन्त्राण्येतद्यथा जम्भनि मोहनि सर्वशत्रुविदारिणि रक्षरक्ष माममुकं सर्वभयोपद्रवेभ्यः स्वाहा 41.
Angered, having smeared the hands with blood, and having grasped with them: Om, obeisance to all machines—just as you bind, enchant, and destroy all enemies, protect, protect me, so-and-so, from all dangers and calamities, svāhā.

पवित्रारोपणं वक्ष्ये शिवस्याशिवनाशनम् 42.

संवत्सरकृतां पूजां विघ्नेशो हरतेऽन्यथा 42.

अघोरेण तु संशोध्य बद्धस्तत्पुरुषाद्भवेत् 42.

अष्टोत्तरशतं कुर्य्यात्पञ्चाशत्पञ्चविंशतिम् 42.

चतुरङ्गुलान्तराः स्युर्ग्रन्थिनामानि च क्रमात् 42.

क्षीरादिभिश्च संस्थाप्य लिङ्गं गन्धादिभिर्यजेत् 42.
Establishing the linga with milk and other offerings, one should worship it with fragrances and similar items.
पुष्पं गन्धयुतं दद्यान्मूलेनेशानगोचरे 42.
One should offer a flower scented with fragrance at the root, within the domain of Ishana.
मृत्तिकां पश्चिमे दद्याद्दक्षिणे भस्म भूतयः 42.
One should place clay in the west, ashes in the south, and the elements.
वायव्यां सर्षपं दद्यात्कवचेन वृषध्वज 42.
One should offer mustard seeds in the northwest, and with a protective mantra, to the bull-bannered one.
होमं कृत्वाग्नये दत्त्वा दद्याद्भूतबलिं तथा 42.
After performing the homa, offering to Agni, one should also give offerings to the spirits.
प्रातस्त्वां पूजयिष्यामि अत्र सन्निहितो भव 42.16 मन्त्रितानि पवित्राणि स्थापयेद्देवपार्श्वतः 42.
