Listen, as the glory of the Supreme Lord is revealed in a stream of sacred descriptions. He is boundless, his purpose supreme, and he himself is the highest Lord among all that is supreme. Radiant and pure, he is the very form of light, sanctified and ever the protector. He stands as chief among all, the earth-lotus, lotus-naveled, and ever the bestower of affection. He is the support of all worlds, all-seeing, and sustains everything that exists. Worthy of worship by all, he is the very first, honored and saluted by all the gods. Protector of all beings, the ultimate refuge, he is the cause behind all causes. He oversees everything, the Lord of the gods, revered by both gods and demons alike. He guards truth, his navel the origin of creation, the Lord of the perfected beings, and worshipped by them. The world finds refuge in him; he is the wellspring of welfare and security. He dwells in truth, his resolve is truth, he knows truth, and he speaks only truth. He is the doer of actions, the action itself, the process, and the result. Indeed, he is the Lord of the gods, praised as the Lord of the Vṛṣṇis. He is the Lord of all animals and the Vasus, the Lord of the trees and the wind. He rules over Kubera, the lord of wealth, and the stars in the heavens. He is the Lord of serpents, the Sun, and Dakṣa. He is the Lord of the Gandharvas, and the supreme Lord of the Asūnas. He is the foremost among the gods, and also the Lord of Kapila. He is the Lord of sages and the supreme Lord of the sun. He rules over the planets and the Rākṣasas, the rivers and the oceans. He is the Lord of Vetālas and Kūṣmāṇḍas. He is the great soul, auspicious and worthy of honor, Mandara, and the Lord of Mandara. He wears garlands, is the great god, and is worshipped by the great god. Mighty in strength and vital energy, he is worshipped by the sage Markandeya. Praised by sages, himself a sage, he is friendly, strong, and possesses a mighty jaw. His mouth is great, his soul noble, his body immense, and his belly vast. His movement is great, his fame widespread, his form magnificent, and his being mighty. He is to be worshipped in sacrifices, takes the form of sacrifice, is worthy of honor, and is the Lord of sacrifices. He is human, he is Manu, and he brings delight to mankind. He is the Lord of Budha and Brihaspati. He is Lakshmana and Lakshana, with hanging lips and graceful form. His face shines with many flavors, adorned with various flowers. He is the giver and taker of jewels, has form and is also formless. Like a dark raincloud, pure, like a black raincloud, formless, giver of form, yet also of white hue. His complexion is golden, he is called golden, his limbs are golden, he is gold itself, and he wears a golden girdle. He gives gold and holds a portion of gold. He is Suparni, Mahaparni, and the cause of Suparna. He is the cause of greatness and the cause of the primary principle. He is the cause of intellect and the cause of ego. Thus, the Supreme Lord is celebrated in countless ways, the source and sustainer of all, the refuge of all beings, the radiance of truth, and the cause behind all that exists.
