From Atri was born Soma, the moon, whose beloved wife was Tara, cherished by the preceptor of the gods. From Soma and Tara was born Budha, and Budha’s son was Pururavas. Pururavas, by Urvashi, had six renowned sons: Vishvavasu, Shatayu, Ayu, Dhaman, Amavasu, and one more. From Amavasu came Bhoma, and from Bhoma was born Kanchana. Raji had a hundred sons, but all were destroyed by Indra. Pratikshatra was born from Kshattravriddha, and his son was Samjaya. Samjaya’s son was Vijaya, and Vijaya’s son was Krita. From Krita came Vrishadhana, whose son was Sahadeva. Sahadeva’s son was Adina, and from Adina came Jayatsena. Jayatsena’s son was Samkriti, and from Samkriti came Kshattradharma.
