मणिद्वीपवर्णनम् व्यास उवाच तदेव देवीसदनं मध्यभागे विराजते । सहस्रस्तम्भसंयुक्ताश्चत्वारस्तेषु मण्डपाः
That very dwelling of the Goddess shines in the central region, with four pavilions joined by a thousand pillars.
शृङ्गारमण्डपश्चैको मुक्तिमण्डप एव च । ज्ञानमण्डपसंज्ञस्तु तृतीयः परिकीर्तितः
One is called the Pavilion of Love, another the Pavilion of Liberation, the third is known as the Pavilion of Knowledge.
एकान्तमण्डपश्चैव चतुर्थः परिकीर्तितः । नानावितानसंयुक्ता नानाधूपैस्तु धूपिताः
The fourth is called the Pavilion of Solitude; they are adorned with various canopies and perfumed with many kinds of incense.
कोटिसूर्यसमाः कान्त्या भ्राजन्ते मण्डपाः शुभाः । तन्मण्डपानां परितः काश्मीरवनिका स्मृता
The auspicious pavilions shine with the brilliance of millions of suns; around these pavilions is a grove of Kashmiri trees.
मल्लिकाकुन्दवनिका यत्र पुष्कलकाः स्थिताः । असंख्याता मृगमदैः पूरितास्तत्स्रवा नृप
There are abundant groves of jasmine and kunda flowers, filled beyond count with musk, their fragrance pervading everywhere, O King.
महापद्माटवी तद्वद्रत्नसोपाननिर्मिता । सुधारसेन सम्पूर्णा गुञ्जन्मत्तमधुव्रता
Similarly, there is a great lotus forest, with jeweled pathways, filled with nectar, and buzzing with intoxicated bees.
हंसकारण्डवाकीर्णा गन्धपूरितदिक्तटा । वनिकानां सुगन्धैस्तु मणिद्वीपं सुवासितम्
It is filled with swans and cranes, its directions saturated with fragrance; the groves' sweet scents perfume the entire Mani-dvipa.
शृङ्गारमण्डपे देव्यो गायन्ति विविधैः स्वरैः । सभासदो देववरा मध्ये श्रीजगदम्बिका
In the Pavilion of Love, the Goddesses sing with various melodies; among them, with the assembly of divine beings, is Shri Jagadambika.
मुक्तिमण्डपमध्ये तु मोचयत्यनिशं शिवा । ज्ञानोपदेशं कुरुते तृतीये नृप मण्डपे
In the pavilion of liberation, O king, the auspicious one constantly grants release and imparts knowledge in the third pavilion.
चतुर्थमण्डपे चैव जगद्रक्षाविचिन्तनम् । मन्त्रिणीसहिता नित्यं करोति जगदम्बिका
And in the fourth pavilion, Jagadambika, together with her ministers, always contemplates the protection of the world.
चिन्तामणिगृहे राजञ्छक्तितत्त्वात्मकैः परैः । सोपानैर्दशभिर्युक्तो मञ्चकोऽप्यधिराजते
O king, in the mansion of wish-fulfilling jewels, there is also a couch adorned with ten steps, composed of the supreme principles of Shakti.

चिन्ताकलम्बितस्वच्छमुक्तागुच्छविराजिता । पाटीरपङ्ककर्पूरकुङ्कुमालङ्कृतस्तनी

विचित्रविविधाकल्पा कम्बुसंकाशकन्धरा । दाडिमीफलबीजाभदन्तपङ्क्तिविराजिता
Her form is adorned in various wondrous ways, her neck is like a conch, and her row of teeth shines like pomegranate seeds.
अनर्घ्यरत्नघटितमुकुटाञ्चितमस्तका । मत्तालिमालाविलसदलकाढ्यमुखाम्बुजा
Her head is crowned with a diadem set with priceless jewels, and her lotus face is framed by locks shining with garlands of intoxicated bees.
कलङ्ककार्श्यनिर्मुक्तशरच्चन्द्रनिभानना । जाह्नवीसलिलावर्तशोभिनाभिविभूषिता
Her face resembles the autumn moon, free from blemish and thinness, and her navel is adorned with the whirlpool of the Ganges’ waters.
माणिक्यशकलाबद्धमुद्रिकाङ्गुलिभूषिता । पुण्डरीकदलाकारनयनत्रयसुन्दरी
Her fingers are adorned with rings set with pieces of ruby, and her three eyes are as beautiful as petals of the blue lotus.
कल्पिताच्छमहारागपद्मरागोज्ज्वलप्रभा । रत्नकिङ्किणिकायुक्तरत्नकङ्कणशोभिता

मणिमुक्तासरापारलसत्पदकसन्ततिः । रत्नाङ्गुलिप्रविततप्रभाजाललसत्करा

कञ्चुकीगुम्फितापारनानारत्नततिद्युतिः । मल्लिकामोदिधम्मिल्लमल्लिकालिसरावृता
Her upper garment is embroidered with various jewels, dazzling with their light, and her hair is adorned with garlands of jasmine and clusters of fresh jasmine buds.
सुवृत्तनिबिडोत्तुङ्गकुचभारालसा शिवा । वरपाशाङ्कुशाभीतिलसद्बाहुचतुष्टया
Auspicious and graceful, she is languid with the weight of her full, well-formed, and prominent breasts, and her four arms gently hold the noose, goad, gesture of fearlessness, and boon-bestowing sign.
