One who steals brahminical wealth certainly goes to Kumbhīpāka hell, where, beaten by Yama's servants, he dwells for a hundred thousand years.
After that, he is born as an outcaste, afflicted with disease and poverty, and causes the downfall of seven generations of his family, both before and after.
Thus it has been explained, O brāhmaṇa; what more do you wish to hear? Nārada said: O sage, who enjoys the fruit of a ritual performed without the due fee?
Tell me, O sage, about the procedure for the fee and the ritual of worship as performed in ancient sacrifices.
Śrī Nārāyaṇa said: O sage, how can there be any result at all from an act performed without the due fee?
Only in a rite performed with the proper fee does the fruit arise; whatever is done without the fee, that is enjoyed by Bali, O sage.
That which was given to Bali long ago by Vāmana, O sage; offerings for śrāddha given to one unlearned in the Vedas, or given without faith;
Offerings and ritual items given to brāhmaṇas who are husbands of outcaste women, or whatever is performed by unworthy twice-born, or worship done by the impure—
The acts of one who is not devoted to his teacher are certainly enjoyed by Bali, without doubt; likewise, the meditation, hymns, and ritual procedures regarding the fee—
All this, as taught in the Kaṇva branch, I shall now explain; listen. Long ago, having obtained her, the sacrifice and the fee skilled in action—
He became deluded by her true form and, overcome by desire, praised her. Yajña said: Formerly, you were a cowherd woman in Goloka, the best among the gopīs.
Equal to Rādhā, her companion, and beloved of Śrī Kṛṣṇa; on the full moon of Kārtika, at the great festival of Rādhā's dance,
Because of Lakshmi's share in the sacrifice and due to Radha's curse, O Dakshina, you fell from Goloka and have now come to me by my good fortune.
Show mercy, O greatly fortunate one, make me your own master; O Goddess, you alone always grant the fruits of actions to those who act.
Without you, all actions of everyone are fruitless; likewise, without you, the actions of the doers do not shine.
Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesha, the guardians of the directions and others are not able to grant the fruits of actions without you.
Brahma himself is of the form of action, Maheshvara is of the form of fruit, Vishnu is of the form of sacrifice, and you are the essence of all these.
The supreme Brahman, the bestower of fruits, is the highest, attributeless Prakriti; even Krishna himself, the Blessed Lord, is empowered only together with you.
You alone are my power, O beloved, in every birth, always; O beautiful-faced one, I am capable of all actions only together with you.
Having spoken thus, the presiding deity of sacrifice stood before her; the Goddess was pleased, and the portion of Lakshmi joined him.
Whoever recites this Dakshina hymn at the time of sacrifice attains the fruit of all sacrifices—of this there is no doubt.

In the Pure sacrifice, Dharma sacrifice, in the ritual for removing sin, in the Brahmanical work worship, and in the auspicious Yoni worship,
Whoever recites this hymn at the commencement of these rituals, all those actions are certainly accomplished without obstacles.
This hymn has been spoken; now hear the meditation and the method of worship. The wise should worship Dakshina in a Shalagrama stone or a pot.
I worship Dakshina, born from Lakshmi's share, the portion of Kamala, who is highly skilled in all actions and the bestower of the fruits of all actions.
I worship the auspicious one, the embodiment of Vishnu's power, who is worshipped and saluted, who grants purity, is of the form of purity, virtuous, and bestows good.
Having meditated on her as the granter of boons, the wise should worship her with this very root mantra, offering water for washing the feet and so on to the Goddess, as prescribed in the Vedas, O Narada.
