Seeing her, Krishna rose with respect, addressed her with sweet words, smiling and with excitement—
The cowherds, greatly frightened, bowed with their necks bent, praised her with devotion, and the Supreme Lord also praised her.
Rising up suddenly, Ganga offered many praises and, with great fear and humility, inquired about her well-being.
Standing with bowed head, trembling, her throat, lips, and palate dry, she surrendered herself in meditation to the lotus feet of Shri Krishna.
Krishna, abiding in her heart-lotus, granted her freedom from fear; by the boon of the Lord of all, her mind became steady.
There, Ganga beheld Radha seated upon a lofty lion-throne, exceedingly gentle, delightful to behold, and radiant with the brilliance of Brahman.
She is the eternal origin of creation, the creatrix of countless Brahmas, ever appearing as a twelve-year-old maiden, ever fresh in youth.
In the assembly of the universe, she is unrivaled in beauty and virtue, tranquil, beloved, infinite, pure, and without beginning or end.
Auspicious, gracious, fortunate, endowed with the supreme fortune of her Lord, the most beautiful among all beauties.
She shares half of Krishna’s form, equal to him in splendor, age, and radiance, worshipped as Mahalakshmi by Lakshmi and the Lord of Lakshmi.
Her brilliance veiled the assembly of the Lord, which was itself resplendent; she had enjoyed the rare betel offered by her companions.
Unborn, mother of all, blessed, honored and self-respecting, she is the presiding goddess of Krishna’s life-breath, most beloved to him, Rama.
Beholding the Queen of the Rasa, the Queen of the gods did not find satisfaction; with unblinking eyes she drank her in.
At that moment, Radha spoke to the Lord of the universe, her words gentle, peaceful, humble, and smiling, O sage.
Radha said: Who is this auspicious one, O Lord of my life, who, smiling, gazes upon your lotus face, her sidelong glances filled with desire?
Overwhelmed by her beauty, her body thrilled with goosebumps, she repeatedly covers her face with her garment and looks again and again.
And you, too, always look upon her with desire and a smile; while I am alive in Goloka, such misconduct has arisen.
Indeed, you repeatedly commit this misconduct; out of love I forgive you, for the nature of women is tender-hearted.
Take this beloved, desired by you, and go from Goloka, O wanton one; otherwise, O Lord of Vraja, no good will come to you.
I saw you with Viraja in the sandalwood forest; I forgave you before, at the words of my friends—alas!
By your utterance of my name alone, concealment was effected previously; she abandoned her body and became the river Virajā.
That river, vast as ten million yojanas in breadth and four times as much in length, even now exists, embodying your noble fame.
When I had gone home, returning again to that place, I cried out loudly, remembering Virajā, calling 'Virajā!'
Then, arising from the water by her yogic power, that accomplished yogini, adorned and embodied, granted you her vision.
Afterwards, having drawn her in, you performed the act of infusing strength; then, within her, seven oceans came into being.
You were seen, radiant and concealed, in the grove of champaka trees; immediately, by your utterance of my name alone, concealment was effected.
Radiance, abandoning its body, went to the orb of the moon; then her body became gentle brilliance.
Dividing it, you gave it away with a heart free from sorrow: a portion to gems, a portion to gold, and a portion to excellent jewels.
A portion to the lotus faces of women, a portion to kings, a portion to tender shoots, and a portion also to flowers.
A portion to mature stems, a portion also to grains, a portion to the homes of kings and gods, and a portion to the refined.
