श्रीनारायण उवाच पुरा बभूव गोलोके सा गङ्गा द्रवरूपिणी । राधाकृष्णाङ्गसम्भूता तदंशा तत्स्वरूपिणी
Shri Narayana said: Formerly, in Goloka, Ganga existed in liquid form, born from the bodies of Radha and Krishna, a portion of them, of their very nature.
द्रवाधिष्ठातृदेवी या रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि । नवयौवनसम्पन्ना सर्वाभरणभूषिता
She is the goddess presiding over liquids, incomparable in form on earth, endowed with ever-fresh youth and adorned with all ornaments.
शरन्मध्याह्नपद्मास्या सस्मिता सुमनोहरा । तप्तकाञ्चनवर्णाभा शरच्चन्द्रसमप्रभा
Her face is like a lotus at midday in autumn, smiling and exceedingly beautiful; her complexion shines like molten gold, her radiance equal to the autumn moon.
स्निग्धप्रभातिसुस्निग्धा शुद्धसत्त्वस्वरूपिणी । सुपीनकठिनश्रोणिः सुनितम्बयुगंधरा
Her luster is gentle and exceedingly soft, her nature is pure sattva; her hips are well-rounded and firm, and she bears a graceful pair of loins.
पीनोन्नतं सुकठिनं स्तनयुग्मं सुवर्तुलम् । सुचारुनेत्रयुगलं सुकटाक्षं सुवंक्रिमम्
Her full, firm, and well-rounded pair of breasts, her beautiful pair of eyes, graceful and with charming glances, and her lovely, curved form—
वंक्रिमं कबरीभारं मालतीमाल्यसंयुतम् । सिन्दूरबिन्दुललितं सार्धं चन्दनबिन्दुभिः
Her wavy, abundant hair adorned with garlands of jasmine, decorated with a mark of vermilion along with spots of sandalwood—
कस्तूरीपत्रिकायुक्तं गण्डयुग्मं मनोरमम् । बन्धूककुसुमाकारमधरोष्ठं च सुन्दरम्
Her cheeks, delightful and adorned with musk spots, and her lower lip, beautiful and shaped like a bandhūka flower—
पक्वदाडिमबीजाभदन्तपंक्तिसमुज्ज्वलम् । वाससी वह्निशुद्धे च नीवीयुक्ते च बिभ्रती
Her row of teeth, shining like ripe pomegranate seeds, and her garments, purified by fire, with a waistband, which she wore—
सा सकामा कृष्णपार्श्वे समुवास सुलज्जिता । वाससा मुखमाच्छाद्य लोचनाभ्यां विभोर्मुखम्
She, desiring union, sat beside Krishna, bashful, covering her face with her garment and gazing at the Lord's face with her eyes—
निमेषरहिताभ्यां च पिबन्ती सततं मुदा । प्रफुल्लवदना हर्षान्नवसङ्गमलालसा
With her eyes, unblinking, she joyfully drank in his face, her countenance blooming with delight, eager for new union—
मूर्च्छिता प्रभुरूपेण पुलकाङ्कितविग्रहा । एतस्मिन्नन्तरे तत्र विद्यमाना च राधिका
Overcome, her body marked with goosebumps, she fainted in the presence of the Lord; meanwhile, Rādhikā was also present there—
गोपीत्रिंशत्कोटियुक्ता चन्द्रकोटिसमप्रभा । कोपेनारक्तपद्मास्या रक्तपङ्कजलोचना
Rādhikā, accompanied by thirty crore gopīs, radiant like a crore moons, her lotus-like mouth reddened in anger, her eyes crimson like red mud—
पीतचम्पकवर्णाभा गजेन्द्रमन्दगामिनी । अमूल्यरत्ननिर्माणनानाभूषणभूषिता
Her complexion shining like yellow campaka flowers, moving with the grace of a royal elephant, adorned with various priceless jeweled ornaments—
अमूल्यरत्नखचितममूल्यं वह्निशौचकम् । पीतवस्त्रस्य युगलं नीवीयुक्तं च बिभ्रती
Wearing a pair of priceless, fire-purified garments, studded with precious jewels, with a waistband—
स्थलपद्मप्रभामुष्टं कोमलं च सुरञ्जितम् । कृष्णदत्तार्घ्यसंयुक्तं विन्यसन्ती पदाम्बुजम्
Her lotus feet, soft and radiant like the glow of a ground lotus, beautifully colored, receiving Krishna's offering, she placed them down—
रत्नेन्द्रसारनिर्माणविमानादवरुह्य सा । सेव्यमाना च ऋषिभिः श्वेतचामरवायुना
Descending from a palace crafted of the essence of the king of jewels, she was served by sages, fanned with white chowries—
कस्तूरीबिन्दुभिर्युक्तं चन्दनेन समन्वितम् । दीप्तदीपप्रभाकारं सिन्दूरं बिन्दुशोभितम्
Her forehead adorned with musk spots, anointed with sandalwood, shining like the glow of a bright lamp, beautified with vermilion marks—
दधती भालमध्ये च सीमन्ताधःस्थलोज्ज्वले । पारिजातप्रसूनानां मालायुक्तं सुवंक्रिमम्
She wore it in the center of her forehead, glowing below the hair parting, and her wavy hair was adorned with garlands of pārijāta flowers—
सुचारुकबरीभारं कम्पयन्ती सुकम्पिता । सुचारुरागसंयुक्तमोष्ठं कम्पयती रुषा
Her beautiful, abundant hair trembled as she moved, and her lovely, reddened lips quivered with anger—
गत्वोवास कृष्णपार्श्वे रत्नसिंहासने शुभे । सखीनां च समूहैश्च परिपूर्णा विभोः प्रिया
She went and sat beside Krishna on the splendid jeweled throne, surrounded by groups of her companions, the beloved of the Lord—
तां दृष्ट्वा च समुत्तस्थौ कृष्णः सादरपूर्वकम् । सम्भाष्य मधुरालापैः सस्मितश्च ससंभ्रमः
Seeing her, Krishna rose with respect, addressed her with sweet words, smiling and with excitement—
प्रणेमुरतिसन्त्रस्ता गोपा नम्रात्मकन्धराः । तुष्टुवुस्ते च भक्त्या च तुष्टाव परमेश्वरः
The cowherds, greatly frightened, bowed with their necks bent, praised her with devotion, and the Supreme Lord also praised her.
उत्थाय गङ्गा सहसा स्तुतिं बहु चकार सा । कुशलं परिपप्रच्छ भीतातिविनयेन च
Rising up suddenly, Ganga offered many praises and, with great fear and humility, inquired about her well-being.
नम्रभागस्थिता त्रस्ता शुष्ककण्ठोष्ठतालुका । ध्यानेन शरणायत्ता श्रीकृष्णचरणाम्बुजे
Standing with bowed head, trembling, her throat, lips, and palate dry, she surrendered herself in meditation to the lotus feet of Shri Krishna.
तां हृत्पद्मस्थितां कृष्णो भीतायै चाभयं ददौ । बभूव स्थिरचित्ता सा सर्वेश्वरवरेण च
Krishna, abiding in her heart-lotus, granted her freedom from fear; by the boon of the Lord of all, her mind became steady.
ऊर्ध्वसिंहासनस्थां च राधां गङ्गा ददर्श सा । सुस्निग्धां सुखदृश्यां च ज्वलन्तीं ब्रह्मतेजसा
There, Ganga beheld Radha seated upon a lofty lion-throne, exceedingly gentle, delightful to behold, and radiant with the brilliance of Brahman.
असंख्यब्रह्मणः कर्त्रीमादिसृष्टेः सनातनीम् । सदा द्वादशवर्षीयां कन्याभिनवयौवनाम्
She is the eternal origin of creation, the creatrix of countless Brahmas, ever appearing as a twelve-year-old maiden, ever fresh in youth.
विश्ववृन्दे निरुपमां रूपेण च गुणेन च । शान्तां कान्तामनन्तां तामाद्यन्तरहितां सतीम्
In the assembly of the universe, she is unrivaled in beauty and virtue, tranquil, beloved, infinite, pure, and without beginning or end.
शुभां सुभद्रां सुभगां स्वामिसौभाग्यसंयुताम् । सौन्दर्यसुन्दरीं श्रेष्ठां सर्वासु सुन्दरीषु च
Auspicious, gracious, fortunate, endowed with the supreme fortune of her Lord, the most beautiful among all beauties.
कृष्णार्धाङ्गां कृष्णसमां तेजसा वयसा त्विषा । पूजितां च महालक्ष्मीं लक्ष्म्या लक्ष्मीश्वरेण च
She shares half of Krishna’s form, equal to him in splendor, age, and radiance, worshipped as Mahalakshmi by Lakshmi and the Lord of Lakshmi.
