Seeing her, the Lord of the Rasa, together with her, in the circle of the Rasa dance, delighted in the joy of the Rasa and engaged in the dance-play.
He performed various kinds of amorous sports, as if love itself had taken form, enjoying blissful union for the duration of a day of Brahma.
Then, exhausted, the father of the world deposited his seed in her womb, at a moment of eternal bliss and auspiciousness.
From the body of that woman, at the end of their union, O virtuous one, sweat issued forth from her, weary from the radiance of Hari.
As she was wearied by the great exertion, her breath was released; then, all that sweat became the cosmic egg.
That exhaled breath became the support of all; the breath of exhalation is, indeed, the life-force of all beings in all existences.
From her left side appeared the embodied air; she became his wife, and their sons were the five vital airs of living beings.
The vital airs—prāṇa, apāna, samāna, udāna, and vyāna—became his sons, and thus there were five downward-moving prāṇas as well.

Seeing the child, the goddess was pierced in her heart; in anger, she cast it away into the waters within the cosmic egg.
Seeing that abandonment, Kṛṣṇa cried out in distress; the Lord of the gods immediately cursed the goddess as was fitting.
Because you, harsh and wrathful one, have abandoned your child, from this day forth, you shall certainly be childless.
Any divine women who are your portions shall all be childless like you, ever youthful.

Then, in the course of time, she assumed a dual form: from her left half came Kamalā, and from her right half, Rādhikā.
At that moment, Kṛṣṇa too assumed a dual form: his right half was two-armed, and his left half was four-armed.
Kṛṣṇa spoke to Vāṇī: 'Become his beloved; here, proud Rādhā, well-being shall be yours.'

When those two became childless and Rādhā's portion was born, from Nārāyaṇa's body arose four-armed attendants.
