यया विना हविर्दानं न ग्रहीतुं सुराः क्षमाः । दक्षिणा यज्ञपत्नी च दीक्षा सर्वत्र पूजिता
Without her, the gods are unable to receive the offerings of oblation; Dakṣiṇā is the wife of Yajña, and Dīkṣā is everywhere revered.
यया विना हि विश्वेषु सर्वकर्म हि निष्फलम् । स्वधा पितॄणां पत्नी च मुनिभिर्मनुभिर्नरैः
Indeed, without her, all actions in the worlds are fruitless; Svadhā is the wife of the ancestors, honored by sages, Manus, and men.
पूजिता पितृदानं हि निष्कलं च यया विना । स्वस्तिदेवी वायुपत्नी प्रतिविश्वेषु पूजिता
Without her, the offering to the ancestors is incomplete; Svasti is the wife of Vāyu, worshipped in every world.
आदानं च प्रदानं च निष्फलं च यया विना । पुष्टिर्गणपतेः पत्नी पूजिता जगतीतले
Without her, both taking and giving are fruitless; Puṣṭi is the wife of Gaṇapati, worshipped on the earth.
यया विना परिक्षीणाः पुमांसो योषितोऽपि च । अनन्तपत्नी तुष्टिश्च पूजिता वन्दिता भवेत्
Without her, men and women become depleted; Anantā's wife, Tuṣṭi, is worshipped and honored.
यया विना न सन्तुष्टाः सर्वलोकाश्च सर्वतः । ईशानपत्नी सम्पत्तिः पूजिता च सुरैर्नरैः
Without her, all worlds everywhere are unsatisfied; Īśānī, the wife of Īśāna, is prosperity, worshipped by gods and men.
सर्वे लोका दरिद्राश्च विश्वेषु च यया विना । धृतिः कपिलपत्नी च सर्वैः सर्वत्र पूजिता
Without her, all worlds are poor everywhere; Dhṛti is the wife of Kapila, worshipped by all, everywhere.
सर्वे लोका अधैर्याश्च जगत्सु च यया विना । सत्यपत्नी सती मुक्तैः पूजिता च जगत्प्रिया
Without her, all worlds become unstable; Satī, the wife of Satya, beloved of the world, is worshipped by the liberated.
यया विना भवेल्लोको बन्धुतारहितः सदा । मोहपत्नी दया साध्वी पूजिता च जगत्प्रिया
Without her, the world would always be without kinship; Dayā, the virtuous wife of Moha, beloved of the world, is worshipped.
सर्वे लोकाश्च सर्वत्र निष्फलाश्च यया विना । पुण्यपत्नी प्रतिष्ठा सा पूजिता पुण्यदा सदा
Without her, all worlds everywhere are fruitless; Puṇyā, the wife of Puṇya, is establishment, always worshipped as the giver of merit.
यया विना जगत्सर्वं जीवन्मृतसमं मुने । सुकर्मपत्नी संसिद्धा कीर्तिर्धन्यैश्च पूजिता
Without her, O sage, the whole world is like the living dead; Saṃsiddhā, the wife of Sukarma, is fame, worshipped by the blessed.
यया विना जगत्सर्वं यशोहीनं मृतं यथा । क्रिया तूद्योगपत्नी च पूजिता सर्वसम्मता
Without her, the entire world is devoid of fame, as if dead; Kriyā, the wife of Udyoga, is honored and esteemed by all.
यया विना जगत्सर्वं विधिहीनं च नारद । अधर्मपत्नी मिथ्या सा सर्वधूर्तैश्च पूजिता
Without her, O Nārada, the whole world is without order; Mithyā, the wife of Adharma, is worshipped by all the deceitful.
यया विना जगत्सर्वमुच्छिन्नं विधिनिर्मितम् । सत्ये अदर्शना या च त्रेतायां सूक्ष्मरूपिणी
Without her, the entire world, created by order, is destroyed; in Satya-yuga she is invisible, and in Treta-yuga she takes a subtle form.
अर्धावयवरूपा च द्वापरे चैव संवृता । कलौ महाप्रगल्भा च सर्वत्र व्यापिका बलात्
In Dvāpara, she appeared as half-bodied, and in Kali, she becomes exceedingly bold, pervading everywhere by force.
कपटेन समं भ्रात्रा भ्रमते च गृहे गृहे । शान्तिर्लज्जा च भार्ये द्वे सुशीलस्य च पूजिते
With deceit, she wanders together with her brother from house to house; peace and modesty are the two wives of the virtuous man, honored by all.
याभ्यां विना जगत्सर्वमुन्मत्तमिव नारद । ज्ञानस्य तिस्रो भार्याश्च बुद्धिर्मेधाधृतिस्तथा
Without these two, O Nārada, the whole world becomes as if mad; knowledge has three wives: discernment, intelligence, and retention.
याभिर्विना जगत्सर्वं मूढं मत्तसमं सदा । मूर्तिश्च धर्मपत्नी सा कान्तिरूपा मनोहरा
Without these, the entire world is always deluded, like one intoxicated; form is the lawful wife, possessing enchanting beauty.
परमात्मा च विश्वौघो निराधारो यया विना । सर्वत्र शोभारूपा च लक्ष्मीर्मूर्तिमती सती
Without her, the Supreme Self and the multitude of worlds are unsupported; everywhere, she is the embodiment of beauty, Lakṣmī, possessed of form and virtue.
श्रीरूपा मूर्तिरूपा च मान्या धन्यातिपूजिता । कालाग्नी रुद्रपत्नी च निद्रा सा सिद्धयोगिनी
She is Śrī, of beautiful form, worthy of honor, blessed and highly revered; she is the wife of Kālāgni Rudra, and is Nidrā, the accomplished yoginī.
सर्वे लोकाः समाच्छन्ना यया योगेन रात्रिषु । कालस्य तिस्रो भार्याश्च संध्या रात्रिर्दिनानि च
By her power, all worlds are covered in the nights through yoga; time has three wives: twilight, night, and day.
याभिर्विना विधाता च संख्यां कर्तुं न शक्यते । क्षुत्पिपासे लोभभार्ये धन्ये मान्ये च पूजिते
Without them, even the Creator is unable to reckon the count; hunger and thirst are the wives of prosperity, honor, and worship.
याभ्यां व्याप्तं जगत्सर्वं नित्यं चिन्तातुरं भवेत् । प्रभा च दाहिका चैव द्वे भार्ये तेजसस्तथा
By these two, the whole world is pervaded and always afflicted by anxiety; radiance and burning are the two wives of energy.
याभ्यां विना जगत्स्रष्टा विधातुं च न हीश्वरः । कालकन्ये मृत्युजरे प्रज्वारस्य प्रियाप्रिये
Without these, the creator of the world is not able to bring forth creation; the daughters of Time—Death and Old Age—are the beloved and unlovely of fever.
याभ्यां जगत्समुच्छिन्नं विधात्रा निर्मितं विधौ । निद्राकन्या च तन्द्रा सा प्रीतिरन्या सुखप्रिये
By these two, the world is destroyed, and by the Creator, they are established in creation; sleep is the daughter, and drowsiness, while delight is another, dear to happiness.
याभ्यां व्याप्तं जगत्सर्वं विधिपुत्र विधेर्विधौ । वैराग्यस्य च द्वे भार्ये श्रद्धा भक्तिश्च पूजिते
By these two, the whole world is pervaded, O son of the Creator, in the act of creation; dispassion has two wives: faith and devotion, both honored.
याभ्यां शश्वज्जगत्सर्वं यज्जीवन्मुक्तिमन्मुने । अदितिर्देवमाता च सुरभी च गवां प्रसूः
By these two, the entire world, which is ever liberated while living, exists, O sage; Aditi is the mother of the gods, and Surabhi is the mother of cows.
दितिश्च दैत्यजननी कद्रूश्च विनता दनुः । उपयुक्ताः सृष्टिविधावेतास्तु कीर्तिताः कलाः
Diti is the mother of the Daityas, Kadrū and Vinatā and Danu; these, employed in the act of creation, are the powers that have been described.
कला अन्याः सन्ति बह्व्यस्तासु काश्चिन्निबोध मे । रोहिणी चन्द्रपत्नी च संज्ञा सूर्यस्य कामिनी

शतरूपा मनोर्भार्या शचीन्द्रस्य च गेहिनी । तारा बृहस्पतेर्भार्या वसिष्ठस्याप्यरुन्धती
Śatarūpā is the wife of Manu, Śacī is the spouse of Indra; Tārā is the wife of Bṛhaspati, and Arundhatī is the wife of Vasiṣṭha.
